    Mustafa mostly kept to himself after his fiasco the previous night. Between his morning prayers and tending to his wounds, while otherwise he would have made conversation and exchanged strategies on what to do next, the Vampiralgietch munched on his own thoughts in silence.

    The magic words were the first to come out of his mouth that day: a spell of protection and aid, one that would remain useful no matter what.

    Cassandra knocks a swarm (B1) back and damages them, while Titus damages more of them, flames leaping to the group of bats behind (B2, secondary B5). The bats dodge around the bright flame of Mustafa's spell. Chloe's spray of acid finishes off one swarm (B1) and damages another (B3). Sabian's spear cuts through more bats (redirected to B2).

    The bats move forward, swarming around the group and biting at them with shrill shrieks.

    Bat swarms can only target enemies whose space they are in. The swarms can apparently only share space with one other creature. So everyone except Chloe (in back) gets a swarm!
    B2 is below half. The others are not.

    B3 Cassandra, (1d20+4)[10] for (1d4)[3] piercing damage miss

    Keep it up! Sabian encourages the others as they thin out the swarms. He continues swinging his spear around wildly, desperately trying to catch the violent bats as they fly around. In the moment the swarm coalesces around him he uses the legendary Shield of the Unyielding to force the swarm back.

    Cassandra swipes at the bats around her, but misses. Titus swings his flaming sword, cutting down the bats attacking him. Unfortunately, there's no adjacent swarm for the flames to jump to. Mustafa burns the swarm attacking himself a bit, and Chloe and her servant finish off the swarm assailing Sabian. Sabian in turn stabs the swarm around Cassandra with his glowing spear, and knocks the bats off of her.

    They return immediately, biting and chittering.

    Cassandra knocks the bats back and Titus blasts them. They fall out of the ground from the effects of residual magic when they try to move (B3 destroyed).
    Sabian and Chloe both strike the bats fluttering around Mustafa.
    =>Mustafa's turn is left. Bat swarm 3 is the only enemy, and has 7hp left.

    Mustafa calls down bright flames around himself, burning some of the bats. Any normal animals would have long since fled, but they continue trying to bite at his hands, face, and the backs of his legs where armor doesn't cover him.
