“Bite my shiny metal sword!” he swings against the pile of swarming rodents.

You take a moment to catch your breath and ensure that no further hostile creatures are about. Once you feel safe, you can examine the gate door. Whoever tries the key finds it jammed shut-it'll take a little work to open.

The lock takes mere moments for Elizabeth to get open. The gate is still a little rusted and slow to open, but a good knock from someone's shoulder pushes it open. It squeals from the rust, and stays in the position you leave it.

Just beyond the gate is a small stream, trickling in from elsewhere. You follow it upstream, and as you start to see sunlight, move more carefully and stealthily. Just poking your head out of the tunnel, you see some raiders searching the streambed-six kobolds, and two more taller robed figures.

Elizabeth gestures to her crossbow before pointing up at the robed figures.

whispering: “Those guys in robes are bad news, but they are nothing without their minions. Let’s shoot the kobolds full of arrows first, and maybe the robes will surrender?”

The halfling looks to the skies worried, and whispers

“If the Dragon doesn’t find us first.”

"I wouldn't assume anything about the ones in robes," Goldcap says. "But I agree we should kill the kobolds first. At least we have their measure already."

"Assuming the dragon is their leader, I expect the kobolds are less likely to surrender, at the least," Krommar adds, quietly. "If we're all agreed, everyone ready?"

“Yup, ready to send these uglies back to Tiamat”

Piemo will stand up and move away from the party, trying to get the monster’s attention.

“Oy!”

He will, of course, shoot an arrow.

“Best regards from the halfling village!”

If there is a tree stump, a big rock, or any kind of large object withing his 25ft. of moving speed, Piemo will try to move behind it, for any sort of cover.
