She turns to look, but just as she spots him, a piercing shriek begins to ring throughout the heads of every member of your group except Lanius before being stopped by a hasty discharge of magical energy from Merry.

    Jessica retreats.
    Merry fires rays of flame at the blurry sorcerer, three of which hit (9, 3, 4-> 4, 2, 2), dropping the Displacement effect. This allows Hyra to hit with her Spiritual Weapon (9, not resisted). The summoned Celestial also gets one hit (15, not resisted).
    The Hound makes an opportunity attack against Hyra, then follows and bites her successfully. The Celestial winks out as she loses Concentration.

    The Hound that had been following Jessica disappears when she reaches 0 hp.
    Allard steps back slightly, waiting for Merry to reappear before unleashing a cone of cold air that catches the wizard, Jessica, and Hyra in it, as well as the Hound near Hyra, which is almost killed by it.

    Desperately thrilled that she's somehow still awake and alive and avoided yet another spell, Hyra conjures up another Celestial - this one wielding a mace and shield, glowing with radiant light above Allard. Together, Hyra's spiritual hammer and the Celesital's mace swing to bring them to an end.

    Jessica stands, and gives one might last swing, which shatters Allard's concentration on the held spell. (15 slashing->7; radiant totals 41; total damage 48). Merry blinks in nearby, unleashing a volley of rays (4 hits for 6, 8, 9, 9->3,4,4,4 = 15).

    Allard collapses to the ground as the shadows about him fade.

    The party has entered an enemy stronghold, killing all who stand in their way, as they seek out an old foe who is temporarily crippled and vulnerable due to a backlash from a ritual they interrupted last week. Their foe’s ancient grandfather bars your path. He’s just an old man with a long beard, not even carrying any weapons.

    Hyra's holy flame is dodged, and her spiritual weapon is blocked by the old man. The Celestial does score a hit with a single glowing arrow. Two of Lanius' arrows miss, and the old man catches the third one (Deflect Arrows).

    He fades from sight, and something misses Hyra. You hear him moving behind one of the pillars nearby as his bare feet smack on the stone.

    Merry's eyes glow blue before he blinks out. Hyra moves up, swinging her hammer, but misses. Her Celestial fires three arrows, but all miss the invisible old man. Jessica moves up, her eyes glowing as well. Lanius fires two arrows. One is grabbed and thrown back, but the other hits (18->9).
