You fight and Loot [OOC]

Hello!

This will be our out-of-character thread for the "You fight and Loot" game.


Before we begin, there's a mini game we need to play here in the OOC.

It goes like this:
I'm going to name a player.
Said player needs to choose one of the options bellow:
1 - Do nothing and earn 10xp.
2 - Tell an interesting story about their character and earn 100xp.
3 - Tell an interesting story about someone else's character, then both characters earn 60xp each.

The stories can be short and simple, a single sentence even. As long as they are something interesting.
example: "One time, I fell into a portal and spent a week lost in another dimension."

Let's start the mini game with Darius!

You need to choose one of the options below:

One time, Hoppington and Pew were out scouting a route to ambush a caravan when we fell into a pit trap. Luckily Pew is small enough that they could hold on like a backpack and hoppington was able to jump them both out.

I throw the mini game to PEW

The goblin cousins used to love to play Hide and Seek in the caves and forest near their home. Lilith always won, and Pew finally figured out that she was cheating by using the forest creatures as her spies. That day was the first day Pew won, and the family had a very meaty, very delicious stew that evening.

Trazz has always been the big sister of the group, keeping the others safe and patrolling for danger, but one day she tracked a particularly violent beast and got in a little over her head. Had it not been for Miik and their magic she may not be alive today. Since then she has secretly been trying to figure out how to use magic herself, although she hasn't had any success so far.

I will pass onto to... Gobbert!

Miik And I used to hide and compete on who can get the ugliest face reaction by changing the flavor of food or candys from other goblins with prestidigitation, then run the fastest possible to avoid punishment while laughing to death!

Many a night there's been when Miik and Hoppington get a touch tipsy and start swapping stories of weird stuff they've seen out on the water, each trying to sell they other on an even bigger more amazing more perplexing thing. It's all hogwash of course, but it's all in good fun.

Lilith made moonshine once, and told Pew about it. Pew, being a Cleric of Light and hearing "shine", thought it was something more magical and less drunken, and decided to bless the liquids, thinking they were part of some lunar ritual.
When the hooch was fermenting, the combination of potent liquors and holy magic was too much for the ramshackle still to handle, and the whole thing exploded on Lilith.

It was her strangest drunken experience ever.

A lot of people are talking about bringing the donkey over, but maybe it's best if he stays put?

The Castle is likely to have small rooms, narrow passages.. stairs..

Besides, what if you want to be sneaky?

I assumed there'd be some place for the donkey on the other side of the moat? A ruined stable or something?

Yea, just looking for a place to keep the donkey so it wont wander away on us

This first room still has plenty natural light! But further down Commodore will need either a torch or maybe someone can cast Light?

Will clarify a bit on something from earlier: Miik has essentially an enormous extradimensional space...that he can go into 1/day. Really good for transporting loot, as long as we don't need on-the-fly access to it. We'll collect stuff for a bit and then he can store as much as he can carry, if that's alright.

Talivan: I think Gobbert is missing a language granted by the background. Can you check it?

Infernally Clay: I think Trazz is missing two languages. One from the background, and another from the favorite enemy. Which leads us to another question.. What is your favorite enemy?

This room is well lit with a couple torches on the wall, because the kobolds needed to see the color of the suits of their cards.

Just to move things along, I’m going to take the action of the first enemy in the initiative order.
After that, both Trazz and Gobbert can act in any order!

What source material are you using for your Ranger features?
I understand it's not the PHB, but this class has been revised more than once.

Also, do you have to pick a favoured foe?

If anybody else has insight on which version of the ranger Trazz is, please raise your hand!

I just want to understand the class features.

It's the Tasha's version of Ranger. You don't pick a Favoured Foe with it, you instead mark an enemy for additional damage once per turn.

Also that ranged attack on Trazz was a crit so you actually get to roll another 2d6 damage. If it's 5 or more she is down. :P

It's not a weapon attack. I rule it doesn't crit.
