Also, question: assuming a monster is used as a PC's class, would we determine ability scores by the 3.5 method of subtracting 10 or 11 from the monster's statistics and treating the difference as its racial ability score modifiers on top of our rolled stats, or would we use the monster's ability scores as printed with the normal bonus from monsters advancing with class levels? Either is fine with me, I'd just like to know before I start building such a character.

if the race in question falls with in the pathinder d20pfsrd sites (Base & Featured Races - Except Drow Noble) as noted in the big 16 then you gain the attributes listed, if the monster is from the bestiary, you gain ( the the hit die for hp, the monster type for skill points, the Racial Traits, Bab/Saves Features, natural armor/deflection armor, Resistances, Special qualities, Special attacks, Spells, SLA's, Racial bonus feats) those are the only benefits of the "Monsters by Request" I am allowing and those are quite powerful/useful in many a case in my opinion.
