Finn shakes his head, though he looks uncertain. "Nothing immediately relevant. The Elgyem's probably being controlled, or at least commanded, by something else. There's some myths about Unown making structures similar to the crystal walls, and they were acting on behalf of some kid. Don't think that'll matter right now though."

While the group was discussing options, Zero had already decided there was an agreement and that he should get the ball rolling. Sneaking over to the isolated Elgyem, the fox keeps to the shadows. Once close enough, Zero lunges at the unwary monster.

Zero finds its opportunity as the psychic monster is tending to the other side of its crystal construction. Just as Zero dashes in for the kill, though, a large chunk of crystal happens to pop into existence right in his path. The little fox slaps into the newly-formed wall face first. At least he didn't hit any of the pointy parts!

The wild Elgyem stares through the now-cracked crystal, seems to slowly realize what just hit it from the other side, then jumps in surprise. Its reaction is similar to its cousin's: it turns and runs, heading for a small passage in the chamber's back-left corner. Zero can see a dim light coming from whatever room is back there. The crystal wall the Elgyem was building hasn't quite reached the back of the chamber yet, so anyone can go around it to pursue.

"Don't let it get away! We don't know what help it might find," Finn calls out, trying his best to hone his focus on the wild Elgyem. Hex, doing his best to react, tries to get a psychic grip on the Pokémon, but his grasp slips off of it. He goes in pursuit, floating after it.

Fletcher tells Charles to stay back, and hit it with a Thunderwave. As electricity crackles around him, Charles lets out the pulse, paralyzing the Elygem mid-glide. Fletcher then throws a Pokeball at it.

What Zero's missed attack cracked, Roland's missed attack smashes. Excidium leers disapprovingly, but it proves fortuitous, as the extra gap in the wall gives Fletcher and Charles a perfect angle to follow up. The Elgyem stumbles in its retreat as the thunderwave strikes, and Fletcher's ball scores a perfect hit, capturing the monster with no further fuss.

As you go to pick up the ball, you see the corridor it was running toward, which seems to be unoccupied by any monsters. It's more finely constructed than the first chamber, about 8 meters on a side with square corners and the same glowing lines as the doors. On the left side is a small platform, stepping up to a big diagram on the left wall with four movable dials. In the back of the room is what looks like a big stone treasure chest with four vaguely lock-shaped protrusions on its front.

    What do you investigate next?

Zero slowly falls down from the newly-formed crystal obstacle with a squeaking noise and then starts growling at the pokeball containing his newly-found enemy. Small cute things that are not himself have been bothering him lately. After a bit Zero comes to his senses and then sniffs around towards where the additional enemies could be coming from.

    Meanwhile, Monty notices the chest.
"Alright, so I think it was trying to head for this thing."

Finn winces slightly as Ronald smashes into the crystal. Walking over to him once the Elgyem is caught, he offers him a hand to get up. "You alright there? That looked painful."

After helping him up, Finn follows Renault into the second chamber, quickly honing in on the mural on the left side of the room. He approaches it to take a closer look, careful not to touch anything.

I think I’m all right,” Roland replied, accepting Finn’s hand up. He tagged along to look at the mural, after making a quick scan of the corners and ceiling to make sure nothing was hiding in them.

With everyone else okay and looking at the mirror, Monty goes closer to the chest. He's not too concerned with the artwork considering that all of this shouldn't make sense. Zero tags along as Monty begins inspecting the chest itself to get a closer look. Are the locks actually locks? Can they be busted?

Monty's investigation finds no means of manipulating the locks directly, and since they're made of stone, breaking them would be a pretty big ask. He does find that their mechanism seems connected to the glowy filigree that lines the doors and walls, and that it in turn connects to the diagram and its dials.

The dials on the wall are a good 30cm in diameter each, laid out in a square. The top two are flanking an etch-a-sketch-looking picture of stairs and the bottom two flanking a picture of a doorway. All four of the dials have the same moon symbols on them, each with eight phases. They're all set to the full moon position right now.
