Belkar and Elan being Belkar and Elan. Love it.

And that's a helluva lots of d6 damage being done right there in one big chomp. Ouch!

And now, Sunny continues carrying out instructions given by Calder as he's pulled to the floor, the Allosaurus continues to chomp into his neck and he can't speak. It's a brutal fight but Calder dies horribly because of the command he issued because now he can't even retaliate or escape with his own magic. Seems like it might be too easy of a victory, but on the other hand it is a lot of irony!

Wow wow wow, that last big panel has instantly become one of my all-time favorites. It's gorgeous and so, so epic. I also love Belkar's mischievous face from panel 7.

Kudos to everyone who ever said "But what if Bloodfeast winds up in an anti-magic field?", which I think is actually most of us at one time or another. Form a circle, pat the back in front of you.

I'm not sure about the sizes here, I wouldn't have thought Bloodfeast was actually larger than Calder, but hey, that penultimate panel rocks, so congratulations for an epic scene, Giant!

Someone else telling Elan to live in the moment may be a first for OotS.

Also, a bite attack plus a successful claw attack from Bloodfeast has got to be 30 or 40 HP down, and maybe more if that neck chomp is a critical hit. And it's going to give Calder a tactical problem - so long as the central eye is on him, he's dealing with a creature his size chomping on him.

That splash page also gives a useful comparandum for those of the forum who were trying to work out Calder's size—interesting to realize Bloodfeast is actually a bit bigger than the dragon.

And Bloodfeast's little determined face in panel 2b!

We don't see Calder drop Roy's sword, but since he dropped V, I will guess that he also dropped the sword.

Here's a question - does Sunny get a saving throw against Calder's domination? Because that poses an ethical question.

If Sunny makes his save, does he keep his eye open, knowing that means Bloodfeast will chew on Calder? Sunny is a gentle soul, watching even an evil dragon die that way might horrify him. But if he closes it, does that mean that Calder goes back into stasis, with Bloodfeast along with him (and maybe others)?

What is a Chaotic Good not-Beholder to do?

One more thought about Calder's domination of Sunny - since Rich doesn't go by strict D&D 3.5 rules the answer is "whatever advances the plot", but anyway; does Calder's domination require concentration? Because GLRKT! does not sound like the noise made by a person thinking clearly.

Also, I don't remember D&D 3.5 allosauri having a "bite and keep on biting without making attack rolls" feature, but that doesn't mean Bloodfeast the Extreminator can't do it with Belkar's coaching.

    Fantastic update!

I love how Calder thinks the OotS is pathetic because they are *already* reduced to throwing small critters at him.

That is a dragon who knows the "desperately uses Bag of Tricks" tactic.

We all saw it coming, but I didn't think at this juncture.

Makes me think even more that the previous assumption about the fight with Calder will blow up the walls to the point that team evil will just waltz in bypassing most of the defenses is likely to occur.

Especially now that we have 2 giant monsters going at it.

A-HA! Finally, the glorious return of Bloodfeast’s true allosaurus form! And even with Calder’s high Strength score, I doubt he can fly that well with what’s likely several tons of dinosaur hanging onto him.

Just for me: In which comic did Belkar mention this situation earlier?

Also, anyone rightfully telling Elan to live in the moment is truly surprising.
