Indeed, but it is not impossible to create a situation where Zariel is cut off from the relevant support.

The Mighty Servant is good for damaging buildings and for 1 vs 1 cage matches, that's a fact. It's bad against armies, that's also a fact.

So hypothetically if someone can ambush Zariel for a cage match without her armies to support, she would be in trouble. Doing it is easier said than done, however.

Watching the Mighty Servant of Leuk-o thrashing around in futility while hovering 100 feet in the air is a hilarious mental image. This is why you learn Dimension Door, kids!

Would Dimension Door work with the Mighty Servant?

I missed the part where it has to be your size or smaller, whoops. You could use Teleport instead if you have the spell slot for it, just hope that you don't roll Similar Area and get sent to The Pit Of One Thousand Helmed Horrors or anything like that.

A D&D style Mechwarrior/Pacific Rim style game could be fun. The players are the descendants of an ancient order of protectors that used Mighty Servants to protect an ancient kingdom from a terrible Outer God, that creates monsters to ravage the world.

Low level PCs then could face very powerful foes, early in their career, they just need to be in their 'mechs'.
The variance between the power level in the Mighty Servant, and their own power level outside, would allow for really varied design.

I think, you would probably need to go with a Milestone Leveling system, or reduce the XP awarded inside the Mighty Servant...1st level characters kills CR 16 foes and suddenly twenty minutes of Everquest level dings sound off..:)
