Renar
Recovering his shortspears, and replacing his weaponry, Renar sticks with the group, taking up a position near the front.

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Dart
Standing back from the group, breathing after the short fight. Intently he listens to the conversation as he releases his spells. So the elves are the slaves fighting back, awkward situation this is. This fight didn't need to happen. What a waste, Dart thinks to himself. He follows the group to see the elven druid, as well as trying to decide what the next step is.
Dart turns to the group, "So why did each of you become part of the Paladin King's knights?"

"Pfft. Knight? More like useful tool, at this point. Why am I here? Well, I couldn't very well stay and drink and laze about when the rest of you were out discovering the world, now could I?"

Val
Val seems to stay silent, which is odd considering his talkative nature. Seeming to shy away from any questions about his past, Val turns to speak to the elves. "So, might I inquire your names?"

*shrugs* My master was Palidine's preist. I guess I'm Palidine's priest now. I'm here to help heal. Speaking of... if this is going to come to a fight it might be better if I can gwt wnought time in to pray for new spells.

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
The charmed elf replies, "My name is Aramir. I am told that I am named for a ancient king, but seeing as that is ancient history, it is most meaningless. This string fellow is named Thure. This is Zekiale, and this little guy is Junio. None of them, I fear have as illustrious a name as mine." He smiles. "Nor does our druidic saviour, Menelauth. Oh, there is the demon's cave," he says pointing up the cliffside. "Just downriver a little more you'll find Menelauth. How do you want us to proceed? Shall I go ahead and talk to him first, or perhaps Zekiale should go, he's much better with words than me, and Menelauth likes him more. Or have you other ideas?"

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Val
Smiling at the Aramir's friendliness, Val speaks to the group of elves as a whole. "If Zekiale is up for it I would very much appreciate it. If he wouldn't mind me accompanying him as well. It think It would be best if I came to speak with this Menelauth in person. Hopefully we can end this without any bloodshed." Turning to the others, Val speaks up. "Does anyone have an problems with this plan?"

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Xerxes
Xerxes snorts at the implication of Paladine having "knights." I serve the bastard pretender to his crown only out of the most expedient of motives -- self-interest. The power my mistress has seen fit to grant me was appealing to the ill-bred, porcine fool, and given the other options available to me, Paladine was the least reprehensible.
Noting that one of the others, whose name he had yet to bother to learn, as to head off with the elf, and was asking whether or not the rest would allow him, Xerxes grunts noncomittally. These sub-humans have taken vengeance on their oppressors. It is right and proper for those with the will and the power to rise up and strike down those who would deny them. It is in keeping with the spirit of Bast, and each foul-smelling kobold sacrificed upon an altar of revenge is a prayer to her. Go or stay. If they kill you, then we will be obliged to take our own vengeance upon them, and the beautiful cycle of dominance and subservience continues.Gaming Nirvana

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Shaking his head as the overdramatic Avatar of Endless Vengence and Justice in the form of Revenge unloaded his sermon, Zasabi made his way toward Val.
"I don't look particularly threatening, so being part of this little endeavor might not be a bad idea," he states rather plainly, making sure to draw the tattered remains of his cloak over his shortbow and whip. It wasn't much, but it would help to keep him from looking dangerous, which was of the utmost importance. Perhaps a barbarian or some such brute could afford to look like the most deadly thing this side of the planet, but Zas didn't have the kind of fortitude needed to withstand the attention of the enemy for long.

Cefos
*sigh*
If you insist on going, I'll not stop you, but this seems foolish. I'll go though. Better to stop the fighting now. I seem to be able to talk to people. Someone here is an archer, no? Perhaps they should watch us from afar.

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Val
Thinking for a moment, Val comes to a conclusion. "If Cefos and Sam would be willing to accompanying me and Zekiale on our diplomatic mission than so be it. The rest of you should be near by and hidden in case things go wrong." Val turns to Aramir and the other elves. "I truely do not wish for this to end in bloodshed, but it may come to that despite my efforts. If so I wish to apologize for our actions against your kin. But I must ask, if it comes down to us fighting, who shall you side with?"

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Aaron
"I think we should all go. It will obviously come up that we have killed some of them, and how many of us there are. To have only a few go might backfire and create more suspicion instead of less." He smiles grimly, the scar twisting bizarrely. "Besides, Diplomacy might fail."

"Perhaps the ones not on this diplomacy mission should remain by the cave entrance in order to enforce a ceasefire on any continued kobold-elfin hostilities, until either a working agreement can be reached or negotiations break down and our little band here is forced to pick sides."

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
As Renar says that, he looks up to where the Baron's cave is plainly in sight, halfway up the cliffside across the river from where you stand. It seems that the storm is mostly focussed here, though it's clearly reaching its last gasp. The clothes you wear don't seem to melting away anymore.
Here you've also reached a tall waterfall, where the river cascades down 30 feet of jagged rocks. You can see a well-worn but treacherous path down among the rocks. This also affords you (and the baron, obviously) an excellent view of the elves stationed below. You see two wooden druid circles, one on each side of the river with a makeshift bridge connecting the two. The circle on this side of the river looks very much like the earlier one you passed, including a kobold on the altar slowly dying.
The other circle appears to be a ring of protection. No rain falls in the cylinder of sky above it. A pleasant campfire burns away in the middle as more than a dozen elves lounge on dry grass. Aramir tries to point out Menelauth in the crowd but you still can't pick him out, the elves just all look too similar.
You wonder at their foolishness in camping out in a spot so open, almost begging to be slaughtered.

Re: Anarchy in the D&D (IC)
Zasabi looks to Cefos, then back to the others.
"He has a good point. Very well, I'll find a good spot to watch the camp from. I'll warn you somehow if I see any traps."
He nods to them before heading off toward the camp, taking his time as to maximize his stealth. Upon getting to a decent vantage point, close enough to the camp to keep an eye on things but hidden well enough that the elves would have a hard time seeing him, he will proceed to estimate the number of armed elves in the camp, as well as attempt to figure out who the druid they're looking for is. After that, he'll spend some time trying to make note of anything threatening in the area.

Finding a concealed location, Aaron and Bassanius wait, giving the diplomats ample space and time, as they requested.

SpoilerWeird I could have sworn I was waiting for something...
Val
Nodding at the others, Val follows Zekiale to Menelauth, Val slowly approaches the Druid. With a bow, Val addresses Zekiale.
"Greetings, I am Val. I represent my lord's opinion in this matter. Might I inquire as to your purpose in this valley?"

*rolls eyes, stifles embaressed sigh*
Ahem, actually, we know why you're here. We're representitives of King Palidin, of a rank slightly below, but not beholden to, the Baran of this... castle, such that it is. We're here to see if the negosiation of a peaceful outcome to this dilema is possible.
