Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Personally, I just type random words like "fantasy" and "pathfinder" into google images, but forumatars works too I guess.

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
To be fair, I've traced a non-oots style picture to make an avatar before, although it was quite tedious (mainly because I insisted on being detailed about the tunic design)
Interesting comic, by the way.
Just so you know, Warforged technically can't show expression, since they lack any sort of eyebrows, and their mouth simply opens and closes. Of course, I don't obey this in my comic either, which also has (a) warforged.Steam ID: The Great Squark

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Well... I took that into account ...somewhat The thing is they only have 2 states for their mouths... Open or closed. But in order to actually convey some expression to the reader i went ahead and took the liberty of making their eyes close and their "eyebrows" bend and twist.
Trust me it's better that way... especially when I show surprise... which happens more and more these days.
Also. Glad to have you aboard :D

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
I completely agree. WHile the Warforged in my comic does only have an open/closed mouth (thinking of changing that because its a headache to work with), I've still given him eyebrows simply because he couldn't properly play deadpan snarking straight man without them.

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Okay, this calls for sitrep:
Today I had no time to draw because I had an appointment to see the doctor... I waited no less than 3 hours in front of 20 other people just to see me and tell me I have to come back another time to get X-rays (problem with my knees) ... And right now I'm kinda pissed of about it and in no mood to draw. Tomorrow I'll probably have to go take the X-rays and wait in line again. I hate the health system in this country... reminds me of communist Russia [technically that's the model It was built on]
to sum it up... It will be a small miracle if I find time to work on #31 until Thursday evening.

It`s a lot harder to do than it sounds.
Well, dude, my thoughts go out to you. We`ll make #31 happen when it`s ready to be happened. Until then, take care of yourself, pull your knees together (I`m a prick, I know, but hey I`m your prick ) and do not get angry. Not on this heat anyway, it`s murder.

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Romania is one of those countries where in the summer you could see camels on the sidewalk and in the winter penguins on the lakes...
"Nobody's land" as it were :D
Also ..tomorrow's a day off from work and Tenshiro promised me a house call. By tomorrow afternoon I hope to have 31 done and well on the way to 32.
Apologies go out to all our readers for the exagerated delays.Last edited by Hacktor; 2009-08-09 at 02:10 PM.

A severe case of the Mundays
Good evening, Ladies and Gents.
It`s just a few minutes to ten in the evening and we are literally exhausted. All the quirky and funny lines have been written and re-written.
All the characters have been drawn and colored and all the scenes have been set up.
However, even though it pains us to admit this, real life has been a rabies-infected bitch today to both of us and right now we are too tired to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
So, tolerate our lack of posting a while longer, we`re still only Human.
The expression ``SMILE Tomorrow`s gonna be worse!`` comes to mind. I pray it`s not the case.
Unless Armageddon ensues, the long awaited (I don`t know about you, but we`ve been dying over a week to get it done!) #31 shall be up. Until then, I`ll leave you all with somebody who might actually have to treat Hacktor and I if the madness continues.
Spoiler
I`m going to go lie down in a dark corner right now and sleep until the Sun starts poking at me.

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Looking forwards to it.
Also, it seems that in recent comics (and your posts) you've used a backquote/grave accent ( ` ) instead of a vertical apostrophe ( ' ). This impacts upon the flow of the text a bit, as the backquote is a wider character.

Stronghold o` text
Aaand Strip #31 is up and running.
If you do get to read this before you see the strip, a minor warning... Apparently the time delay we put you through is proportional to the amount of extra text and details the strip gets.
I swear, the text did not look that big in my Notepad.
If you are reading this after checking out #31... please put away the torches and pitchforks, we are working on balancing out the image/text ratio.
Enjoy our little abomination and all the innuendo within.
Tenshiro out! (before the angry mob gets to track him)

Immature humor and a character driven storry? ... NAH!!!
P.S. Argh... I'm not pleased with this one, I can't see the strip through all that text
We'll find a way to make it lighter...

Awesome ^-^v
Hey ya, Threeshades.
Danke for the comment. After the word flood of the last one, any encouragement will do nicely.
Nice new avatar, also... Kinda dark though.
Well people the Storyline moves on and if Hacktor shines the green light in my eye, we`ll be able to hurl our protagonists into uncharted territory and somewhat interesting and less cliché circumstances. Keep your fingers crossed, #32 will be done soon after the weekend.

Will it be worth it in the end? Yes.
Yeah, we`re really like Blizzard when it comes to the word soon... However, we promise it`s going to be worth it. So hang in there.
Real life factors always seem to get in the way of this. We`re not cursed, we`re not being kidnapped and we`re not trying to be donkeyholes about it...
Sadly, both Hacktor and I love this beautiful `Shards of Siberys` project. If you could get a glimpse of our minds, you`d all see that. However, I don`t think anyone can do that...
We`ve been working on something and even though it might be a bit confusing at first, we`ll answer all questions. Also, we`re not people who relish in hiding data or allowing farfetched cliffhangers dwell for too long. I`m not going to spoil it for you.
Instead I`ll ask you, our loyal fanbase, to hang in there. We`re gonna do our best to make something worth the wait. Until then...
Cheers

Well, excepting a few people who follow the sorry and like it the rest of our readers tune in once every 2 months and catch up.
By the way. If anyone knows, how's the number of views calculated? I mean If this thread has 13,388 Views, are they unique? unique in 24h period? or just plain displays[I account for half of the displays myself if so ]?Last edited by Hacktor; 2009-08-17 at 11:35 PM.

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Until we can get the storyline down I'm going to stretch out the story with #32. The idea is up, the first draft is written and the characters and places are drawn (Shamelessly copied... but still) all that remains is for Tenshiro to sculpt the words into something readable and it'll be up by tonight.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: Shards of Siberys - An Eberron webcomic
Ever since I gave him the text for 32 Tenshiro more or less fell off the edge of the earth. We'll have to wait for him until I can finish 32.
Also I see here the advantages\disadvantages of one or two people making a comic.
It has crappy text wording v.s. It's drawn on time and without delays.
