Re: The Crusade Against the Shade [IC] (GROUP 1)
(ooc William is standing watch and praying on the City Wall he will remain there until morning or until someone comes and gets him. Let me know if he has any encounters or any divine guidance. PS I hope all the school work went well)

Re: The Crusade Against the Shade [IC] (GROUP 1)
(Sorry about that, for some reason it didn't click to me that I should respond yet...)
The entire party assists in making a copy for yourselves, any mistakes are quickly found by another, and fixed before getting out of hand.
After a few hours, the quills are set down, and everyone takes a step back to admire their handiwork.
"few people outside the order have such skill with a quill, I do hope that this is enough for your needs." remarks the priest, slowly starting to gather the excess sheets.Spoiler

Will: Wow, that's, 30,000gp. That's more than you can get with a wish spell
Me: Yeah, it was more than I could ever wish for.

Re: The Crusade Against the Shade [IC] (GROUP 1)
As the early morning light washes across the plains surrounding the city William feels a renewed sence of purpose. He completes his morning prayer ritual and walks back to the Temple. Upon arriving he sees the work accomplished by his team mates and is amazed by the detail and amount that was accomplished. He sits down at a writing desk and begins to right
To the followers of the Arch Paladin and any whom may follow after,
I set out to follow up on the clue of the newly claimed teritory of the goblins and found there a tomb of a dwarven hero who in ages past defeated a great evil. While there we met a bard and a paladin investigating hoards of undead terrorizing the region. We have teamed up with them as our purposes seem to merge. The tomb was occupied by shamans from the goblin tribe who had been slaughtered prior to our arrival. In the room with the goblins was a magic item of necromatic powers. There was also a magic message left by a half orc half fiend stating he would be returning to the tomb on the new moon. We completed our investigation of the tomb and found that it was the final resting place of Morrak dwarven hero from three centruies past. We discovered that the ancient artifact of evil that had been buried with him was missing.
We traveled on to the Temple of St. Cuthbert in the city that was under seige from the undead. Here we have studied the history of Morrak and we are going to set out and check on Morrak's companions to see if we can discover the purpose of the item and why it would be take at this time. We are also searching for any importance to the new moon.
My companions fear that this message may provide information to their enemy's So I leave it in the hands of the High Priest of St Cuthberts.
He will determine if it needs to be sent on. If he does I have requested that copies of the maps be inclued with.
Sealed by my hand
William
He then hand the letter to the high priest
Please see that this gets take care of. In my heart I believe it is needed by the Kingdom of Hirdam. But I leave it to you and your god's best judgementLatem Yvaeh

((As I recall Robilard and I founbd some gems back in the undead cave. Does this seem like the kind of town we could actually sell them in? Or at least barter them for potions? Or will the local economy not support it?

Re: The Crusade Against the Shade [IC] (GROUP 1)
(I apologize for the delay, for some reason I never got a message telling me there were fresh posts)
(the town is small, but they are all very close together. You cannot trade in even most of the gems you have, but you may seek out provisions, and trade in the gems as payment, even if the gem is worth more than what you buy, you'll find you'll have 'credit' at the next person you try to buy from)
The high priest nods to William and accepts the letter
"I will pray on the matter for what judgement is best, but I assure you that your kingdom will receive this notice, whether it be once you are lost, or when you return to deliver it yourself. he bows.Spoiler

OOC
Spoiler
So, forgive me if I can't quite remember what our plan is. We know about what was in the cave, and we know generally where that tower is. Do we know how long it is til the next full moon? Are we going to go try and find the tower?
I think it is still fairly early correct?

Re: The Crusade Against the Shade [IC] (GROUP 1)
SpoilerThe Plan (as it is now):
1.) Get back to town and regroup. (done)
1.a) Meet with the priests and seek council, plan next course. (done)
2.) Make haste and find the wizard's tower. (Not done)
We've got a masterfully made map of the area thanks to some apparently awesome group skill checks (or the priest has never seen a good map in his life, which... while unlikely, is possible, and if that's the case, that sucks), with a charted course of travel. Let's get some supplies and hit the road!Amazing Mountain King avatar courtesy of the remarkable Starwoof!
