OOC: You might want to let the players roll this kinda things themselves. Skills, initiative, saves, attacks, spell resistance, checks etc. DM's secret rolls typically involve stuff the players wouldn't know, eg. a monster's hide check (you roll) vs a player's spot (they roll), something like that

"moradin's got no mercy fer ye!" tic shouts as he rushes the kobold.

alright, they both die. malde rushes down and examines the remains. they had little, but a dagger and a gold piece or so, so malde let the others take what you want, as he steps back.

on the horizon you can see a forest

"is that the Bright Forest? is a there a town that on the other side/inside of it? I want a place that has better, more plentiful stuff to steal than that village"

Hael tries to recall what is in and beyond that forest.

it is, in fact. you want to see what is in the town when you hear a strange noise. "oh, no" says malde.

blue things witch were quickly discerned as orcs, were laying by the trail. there were three of them. one was standing up while the other was laying down. malde starts speaking strangely, and a dagger of one laying down shakes, and it lifts and stabs the orc.

Ganrezes hands started glowing again.

Ganrez goes to loot the orcs.

"Ha, another quick one. Looks like we're still doin' fine. Now, where did them orcs come from..." Hael look around at the ground, trying to discern their tracks.

the tracks come from the towns genral direction

5 gold, shortsword, leather armor

"oh good, a shortsword and some leather armor we can sell, and some pocket change, as for that town there, lets into it if thats where tracks lead" Ganrez leaps back on his mount and the horse started to trot the way there.

"Very well, to da town. We'll see what manner of odd stuff can happen there." Hael says, after examining the tracks.

you can see smoke billowing out of town.. you have a bad feeling about this

".....smoke? has someone burned down the town or something? darn it, I must missed out on a good arson"

"Well then hurry lads, we gotta see what's happenin' there!" says Hael, as he ushers the rest toward the smoke.

as you aprroach town, You see a few orcs marching out front, and you see movement inside.

scaring you half to death, a Halfing comes up to Ganrez and says" oh! it's you! a haven't seen you in forever!!" and gives you a big hug. (around your waist, cause he's short) "whatcha doin?"

you don't recognize him at all

"Dinno yer had friends around here lad." says Hael with surprise.
