Re: Arena Tournament, Round 38: Chile V vs Yathor Smotr
We started with LoS and you didn't state you had anything in hand. LoS hasn't been broken and you never drew your weapon. Therefor I assume you're empty handed.

If you make a regular move, you can draw your weapon as a free action since you have a BAB of +1.

Damage roll from this post is consistent with damage from post 24 (attack which shattered glass).
Seeing that, it seems to me that the lack of announcement is a result of Expirement's lack of familiarity with arena-specific rules, rather than a deliberate denial of information to gain an advantage. Chile did have an opportunity to see Expirement's intent a round prior to this, with the shattered glass damage roll.
Thus, with chile's approval, I'd allow the weapon to be in hand. Since it is a match affecting decision, the agreement will have to be on both sides. If not agreed, then the glass shattered in post 27 did not shatter, as Yathor wasn't using any weapon capable of dealing lethal damage.Last edited by Talic; 2008-04-27 at 01:48 AM.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the glass. Yeah that's fine. On your move before attacking the glass, you could have drawn the chain as a free action. Just remember, you need to state what's in hand at the beginning of the match. If your opponent has LoS, you post it in the open. If there is no LoS, you still need to post what's in hand for the refs.
Okay, so you charge to F12 and attack. I didn't take time to check your sheet, did you remember to add in the bonus for charging. It doesn't matter, but I just wanted to remind you.
The reason it doesn't matter is, your attack triggers my readied action. I'll take a 5' step as part of my readied action. 5' step to E14 and breath fire at you. I'll use the line again, just so I don't have to figure out what glass shatters. (1d6)[5] fire damage, same reflex save for half.
Now your attack whiffs the air, since I'm 15' away from you.
Now for my turn.

Chile V is the victor, by virtue of ready actions! Grab gold, get xp'd, and get ready for the Hammer in a bit.
