Re: Waspinator's Red Hand of Doom Game Thread
With a word and a flash, Rashen feels himself getting stronger. Reia moves forward and slashes at one of the hounds, but unfortunately misses. As she moved towards it, the hound snaps at her but misses. Eirica hits the other hound hard and it looks like it is in bad shape. Her hound too had tried to bite her as she approached, but also missed. The six ordinary-looking hobgoblins fire their bows, with two shots missing Reia, two missing Eirica, one hitting Rashen in the arm with an arrow for four damage, and one missing Cezay. The two hounds then snap again at the people that they are in hand-to-hand combat with, but both miss. The hobgoblin in mail then says, "You hurt my dog! Oh, let Zarr take care of that...." He reaches toward the hound that Eirica hit, casting a spell. Most of the hounds' wounds close and it looks much better. The one in leather says, "So, you think you can fight Uth-lar? Well, let's see what you've got!" He moves forward and swings at Reia with his two swords, missing with one but connecting with the other for nine damage. Essence flies straight at one of the hobgoblins and rakes its face fiercely. Cezay's shot hits its target straight in the chest, dropping him to the ground instantly. Force of Nature begins a ritual of some kind, glowing oddly.

Eirica gasps lightly at Zarr's ability to heal, and decides that for the moment, he's the biggest threat near her. Have to keep him from being able to do that! she thinks. SpoilerLooks like a critical threat! Let me roll for that then.
(1d20+10)[27]
Also, I'll roll the damage separately, since I can't tell what I did with that last damage. I know, I should have before, but my luck with dice is usually so bad. This is the very first time in many years of PBPing I've actually rolled a critical threat using an online dice roller!

Re: Waspinator's Red Hand of Doom Game Thread
While moving towards Uth-lar, Rashen is swiped at by the hell hound and swung at by Uth-lar but out of those attacks only one of Uth-lar's swords connect (8 damage). Rashen then blasts Uth-lar with divine magic, severely limiting his ability to fight. Reia follows suit, slashing Uth-lar savagely. Eirica then vanishes, reappears next to Zarr, and completely obliterates him. Zarr falls to the ground, either dead or unconscious. The hobgolins, seeing these attacks, drop their bows, draw their swords, and sidestep to close together their ranks. Three of them swing at Eirica but all miss. The other two still stand swing at Essence of the Forest and manage to hit it both times (8 and 7 damage). The hounds attack Reia (hitting for 2 damage and burning her for 4) and missing Eirica completely. Uth-lar, seeing these events, screams in rage and in an almost supernatural-appearing maneuver swings his swords at both Eirica and Rashen. He hits Eirica once for 6 damage and misses Rashen entirely. Angry at the regulars, Essence attacks the same goblin again, who is not looking well. Cezay's dual shots miss one hobgoblin but drop another. Seemingly out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning strikes Uth-lar, followed by Force's charge which unfortunately misses.

Re: Waspinator's Red Hand of Doom Game Thread
Rashen's attack connects, leaving Uth-lar looking in very bad shape, with many wounds all over his body. The rage of Reia is then all that was needed to finish him off. As he falls down, Uth-lar gasps "You think you've won, but this is just the beginning. My kin... will avenge us...." Eirica, seeing this foe fall, turned to one of the hounds and narrowly missed it with an amazing sword swipe burning with fire. The hounds, seeing their master fall, swipe at Rashen and Reia to no avail. The remaining hobgoblins, with their faces twisted in outrage over the loss of their leaders, move closer and swing wildly at nearby foes with their swords and manage to hit Eirica (for 6 damage) and Rashen (for 5 damage). Essence, seeing that the battle is not going well for it, withdraws and flies away. Cezay, running to flank the goblins, wounds another with an arrow. Summoning his odd power yet again, Force zaps the goblin standing over Uth-lar's body with a bolt of thunder.

Rashen's attack leaves the hound looking extremely in pain. Reia performs some amazing acrobatics, but unfortunately misses with her attack. Eirica, in an amazing feat of strength, lifts and throws one of the goblins away from the fight. The thrown goblin, in a daze, stands up while it's fellows swing in vain at Reia and Eirica. The hounds also snap at the party, with one of them managing to hit Reia with its firey jaws (9 normal plus 4 fire damage). Cezay than finishes two of the remaining goblins with a quick double-shot! Finally, Force calls down another bolt of lightning, finishing the hobgoblin in front of him.

In a brilliant swing, Rashen drops one of the hounds, which falls to the ground, howling. Dancing past Force, Reia than is able to severely cripple the other.
