As the three of you begin chopping up the little demons, Memnoth finishes moving towards you all, and releases a spray of sand that engulfs you all, but strips the flesh of the remaining demons.

Tynze shakes the sand from his pelt and clothes, much resembling a wolf or dog just after being soaked in water. He turns back to the others and grins ferally. Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Memnoth
The dry lich smiles when the flying pests drop. Did that hurt? he inquires to the rest of the party. Allow me to fix you up he offers, closing in. I apologize for the sand, it was the fastest way to get rid of the small demons. The neuter tone of voice of the lich doesn't allow to know which part is sincere or when he is sarcastic, but the truth is that the quasits are all dead.
I just wish that our missing wizard saw the flames and comes to investigate... he says while examining the others. It would save us the hassle of looking for him.a dagger in the dark is worth a thousand swords at dawn

Thorg
Thorg looks at Memnoth, shakes off some sand and shrugs with a snarl. Whatever is necessary to be done. HE takes a few minutes to collect quasit heads, adding them to a blood stained sack.
Thorg then follows the caster's lead, once again on the search.Excellent Avatar of Uri by Retun of Lanky (Aka Lanky Bugger)

Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Collecting a bit over thirty heads of the miniature demons, Thorg bags them all.
You all begin moving again, a more westward movement now, angling back towards the town, coming up from the south. You walk for an hour, the sand gradually giving way to more rock, hard enough and plentiful enough that Memnoth would not be able to sandswim here. But in counterpoint to Tynze's statement, you are not distracted by any particular enemies, unless you count the heat.
The second hour after the last attack sees you moving closer to Mala Myrr. Getting closer to the city, probably within an hours walk of it, one might begin wondering if it would be possible at all to find the mage.
Off in the distance, Memnoth spots a single moving figure, dressed in all dark colors. The figure stands out against the stone and sand, even as it moves to hide from view in between rock outcroppings and stone trees, disappearing from view once it gets near the hiding places. It is quickly making it's way towards Mala Myrr.
Nate:
SpoilerYes, this is you. There's not enough shadow around here to always be within 10' of shadow to HiPS. You're spotted between times. The rest of your trip across the desert had been uneventful.

Nathaniel
The far too hot mage noted an odd group in the distance.
Oh great. Another group of Demons, or... cultists, or something.
He keeps on at his current speed, to see how they react. If they try to ambush him... well, he wouldn't be surprised.

Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Memnoth
There's something moving towards the city over there says the lich, pointing out the figure hiding in the shadows to the rest of the group. The dry lich tries to judge the speed of the thing, and whether they will be able to intercept the figure. I can't really say what it is from this distance he says, trying to distinguish more details. but it's dressed in black and vaguely humanoid
Since that's a description that could include from a cautious traveller to the devil lord itself in disguise, he decides to investigate. I guess we should move in closer he suggests. shall we hustle a little? Since the floor is mostly stone, he doesn't try to be any subtle, and simply closes in.a dagger in the dark is worth a thousand swords at dawn

Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Thorg
Thorg shakes his head Damn stupid mage if that's the one we are looking for. He rumbles, obviously disdainful of the thought of a mage. The begins to jog through the sands toward the figure, armor and harness jingling along. He carries his blade low but in hand as he moves. He angles toward Mala Myrr to cut off the moving mage. He keep ssight of his companions as he does so. The sands could be more treacherous than the demons some days.Last edited by Greyen; 2008-07-28 at 05:17 AM.

Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Allison
"Don't approach too quickly," Allison's voice comes from midair. "If he is our man, you might spook him." Whether he lashed out, or tried to slip away, they didn't want that. She takes advantage of the speed her flight gives her to approach much more quickly, relying on her invisibility to conceal her—and if he can see through that, he can see she's unarmed.Avatar by GryffonDurime. Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Memnoth
Scare him? I don't see how could we scare anyone! says the lich, who seems to be in a good humour after killing those quasits. A scaly ogre, a sand lich, a wolf-man... aren't we the ideal welcome commitee? he chuckles to his inner joke, and keeps moving after Thorg. Would he be really that useful if he got scared of a few guys like us? he says, still amused. Despite all his joking, however, he stops a second to grab a fistful of sand, then moves forward again. Better be prepared, one doesn't unlive forever if unprepared...Last edited by elkhantar; 2008-07-28 at 06:29 AM.

The werewolf lopes along with the group, keeping his pace down to that of his companions. Tynze grins to himself at the thought of the mage being scared of the group. As it should be! We have the power! By Val, we'll make a difference, too! I almost hope he isn't scared. It'd say more about his usefulness, that's certain! he muses to himself as he jogs.I have returned!! Re: The Blood War Boils Over
The group moves quickly towards where they last saw the figure, with Allison flying high above them, faster than they can go.
She is the first to the location where Memnoth saw the figure, but doesn't see anything for several long moments.
Nate:
Spoileryou see several different creatures running towards you. you're currently hidden in the shadow of a particularly large outcropping of rock, and you're fairly certain you won't be spotted, if you can stay out of their direct line of sight.

Re: The Blood War Boils Over
Allison
With the figure nowhere in sight, Allison's mind leaps to the most obvious conclusion: he has used the same magic as she, or something very like it, to conceal himself. If it's him, either he's escaping, or waiting in ambush, or delaying his decision until he can see more about the others. Best to forestall either one.
