Irmaet's sturdy shack unfolds, boards of wood seemingly appearing from nowhere and assembling themselves into a house that looks strong enough to dissuade any nocturnal splicer attacks.

Hector
Hector shrugged. "Good enough for me. A nap will do wonders. We can decide what we are to do in the morning." Subjective morning, anyhow, since it was a bit hard to tell day from night under the sea.Last edited by dyslexicfaser; 2008-09-01 at 03:35 PM.

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
You all manage to get a good night's sleep, more or less, although your dreams are less than pleasant: drowning in pools of viscous oil, being swarmed by masses of wriggling maggots, finding cockroaches streaming down your throat. Still, the sturdy walls of the hut and Mr. Bones's halberd prevent anything more substantial from worrying you in the night.

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
Hector
Hector shakes and shudders, twitches and mumbles in his sleep. His dreams are only ever rarely his own.
Nyarlathotep and Ghanatathoa release their grip on Hector, perhaps bored with their plaything or occupied by other concerns, but there are always others waiting in the wings.
In his dreams, a humanoid figure dances and capers, lit by a hungry green flame. When he looks down at himself, he sees that a rune of terrible power has been branded into the flesh of his palms, marking him as one with Vorvadoss the Vizier, He Who Waiteth In The Outer Dark. In the sky hangs an orb of red light, pulsing and beating like a living thing. A song like that sung with a thousand voices of a thousand children fills the air, singing the song of Groth the Harbinger, until it feels like he might go mad. Madder, anyway.
Hector awakens, sweating.

Kyrek
Kyrek awakes, in a cold sweat. He then wakes up George. George begins the day grumpy, but his mood becomes marginally less grumpy thanks to to some coffee, which George takes black.
I don't know how this magic house works, but it makes a good cuppa joe. I haven't had a decent one since we left home. I can't believe your putting sugar and cream in yours boss, ruins the flavor.
Actually, I didn't put sugar or cream in this, and this is tea, not coffee. I abhor stimulants. And depressants as well for that matter. I'm preparing my spells, stop bothering me!
He don't drink coffee, he don't drink booze, he don't have women...and I'm supposedly the grouchy one? That don't make sense.
I'm almost finished re-preparing my spells. How does everyone feel today? I can prepare a few more cures if need be..Currently playing as:

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
The daelkyr halfblood sits up from the ragged, somewhat slimy bedroll, stretching with a few audible cracks. He stands up and pokes his symbiont a few times as it twitches and unravels from his arm. "Nnnnggg.... Morning all." He takes some of the ...food... from his haversack and begins gnawing on it.

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
Irmaet the Black
"Mngh... blargh... help... gyaaa-" *WHUMP*
Irmaet landed heavily on the floor, rolling off his bottom bunk bed and waking up with a start, before sighing.
"Only a dream..." he said under his breath, as he climbed painfully to his feet and walked out to join the others, spellbook in hand. By now, the skeleton's magical guise had faded, leaving its nature all the more plain to see - not that it mattered, given the noticeable hostility of the inhabitants of this accursed place.
"Morning all. Good work, Mr Bones."
*Click Scrape*
Irmaet heads over to the others, wrangling himself a cup of tea before sitting down with Kyrek.
"Morning, Kyrek. I see you're a fan of the brown stuff yourself."

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
Hector
Hector awakens still in pain. He waves to Kyrek, and speaks. "I could do with a healing spell, if you don't mind. I'm feeling a bit.. stiff."
During the night, Hector's features have changed. Gone are the night-sky eyes. Instead, his voice echoes and reverberates as if the group were standing in an echo cave, and on his palms are two brands, glowing with green fire. He gives no sign that he even notices these new traits.
He begins the long and tedious process of layering on his usual defensive enchantments. "So, I suppose we must explore this place. Perhaps there will be some means of escape handy." He rather doubted it, but it didn't hurt to be optimistic every now and again.

QB
QB stands and stretches, trying to work out the kinks. "Thanks Kyrek, but I'm doing a lot better for a night's rest." He winces as his movements put new stress on strained muscles and battered bones from the previous day's adventuring, and his breath hisses out through clenched teeth. "Well, perhaps a little bit of healing wouldn't hurt," he manages. "That Vita-Chamber machine might take care of me, though."

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
Vaasth scratches his chin and looks around for the path to take this morning. The tentacle attached firmly to his arm seems to swing from it contently, the small, strange mouth on the side of it making sounds nearly impossible to mimic in the common tongue.
He then points to a random path, any one that is now the one they just came from and exclaims, "That way! We'll go that way now." He looks around at the rest of the party with wide eyes and almost childlike energy. "Anyone who disagrees can deal with with what's everywhere else." He then takes off in that direction, his small number of things packed with him.My Deviantart, Please enjoy it.

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
Following a random path and turning every now and then, Vaasth gradually makes his way through a maze of twisty passages, all of them alike. Luckily for him, the halls are less labyrinthine than they are mostly straight – he remains in plain sight of all the others, if they twist their heads a little. The tunnel he follows ends at a door, a metal panel that seems to be divided into two smaller halves. By the door is a crystalline panel with five glyphs glowing in it, the first five numbers of the Common alphabet. The sound of faint music can be heard coming from behind the door, a soft, relaxing melody.

Re: Adventure in Eberron: Beyond the Sea
Quentin cannot find anything of notice about the panel - it seems like nothing more than a solid bar of crystal. As he touches it, though, the rune for "1" seems to react, either to the pressure or the heat of his touch, glowing an incandescent blue. The doorway opens, either side retracting into the walls around it. Behind the door is what looks like an empty space about the size of a small room, without floor or ceiling. There is a faint glow, a rectangle of translucent, milky-white radiance level with the floor. While it seems insubstantial and incorporeal, you do not know what magics are involved in it.

As anyone running into an empty shaft that stretches down for hundred of feet should expect to, Vaasth begins to plummet, his eyes reflexively closing as he falls. However, after a few seconds, he realizes that he has not splattered on the ground below. He opens his eyes and sees a milky white aura about him, and notices that he is gently drifting down.
The rest of you, seeing him enter the shaft, saw him pass through the field of white light, being encapsulated within the aura. He slowly falls through the shaft. He passes two doors directly below the one he went through, which remain shut, before coming to the bottom of the shaft, where a door opens immediately, revealing a room lit by an oddly green glow.I no longer actively read the forums, and probably won't respond to any PMs. I'm fine with people using my homebrew in anything, including fan-compilations and wikis, as long as you credit me.
