Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
Marco Cornaro:
Stepping up to the counter of the morgue Marco flashes the badge and fake ID to the attendant on duty. "I am detective Marzio Borgia of the Carabinieri. I am here to investigate the murder of Antonio Gatzo. I need to see his body and his personal effects."

In the darkness before you, you can see several metal partitions seperating smaller areas of the building. Stacks of giant shipping crates, two and three high, box the center of the building in. You see nothing, so far.
Marco Cornaro
The clerk looks stunned. "But sir," He says in Italian, "We weren't expecting an officer for another two days." After he looks at your identification, however, he lets you through. The coroner on duty slides out his drawer and then sets all of the late Mr. Gatzo's effects on a table nearby. He waits by the body as you examine it, waiting to answer all of your questions. All glory to Vrythas in regards to my snazzy AD&D Game Master avatar.

Marco Cornaro:
Going through the bankers possessions Marco looks for any hints to as why he was called. Bank documents, financial reports. He asks the examiner a few questions to make it look official "The bullet that killed this man. Have you been able to match it up to a gun?"

"Mr Saur, you may refer to me as Control during our conversations. As to my organisation? Well... we go by the name 'Collective Intelligence Network', or CIN." Unseen, the lady smiles.
"We'll be in touch." The line goes dead. She quickly and efficiently packs and stows her equipment, then takes an elevator back down to the busy streets of the Sydney CBD.My blog, if you are interested in my rambling.

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
"Auf wiedersen, Control."
Sig dropped the phone and grabs a thick glass bottle from the table.
He was ready.
This was always the part where armed thugs would burst in, guns blazing, in attempt to keep the caller from using the information he or she had just received.
Information, information, favors- it blazed through his head like an freight train set ablaze.
After five long minutes, Sig lets the bottle drop to his feet. It wasn't like the movies.
Too bad.
"Ach." Next time.
But what happened 'next time'? The next call, of course, would be CIN asking for more favors. And of course, there would be plenty more questions that needed answering; and that would of course lead to more tasks and favors for some shadowy organization.
"I want ought have traced that call," he said to himself.
All right. Next step; he was still waiting on information on his mother. Why bother rushing into the fray when he could have the information he needed at his fingertips?
"Ach," he said to himself a second time. If he waited for the information on the base, he'd just have to burn more time waiting, then burn more time doing favors for CIN.
Plan, plan, plan. All right, the plan: Step One - get to Austria. Step Two - investigate CIN. Why hadn't he heard of them? He was working for the Americans during the 60s. How could an organization with such resources spring up?
That was a question for later. Step one was to get to Germany and right an 80-year-old wrong.
Sig flips out an antiquated cell phone while exiting his hovel. As he walks down the street, he tries to find a good contact or opportunity to hitch a ride to Europe.
"Airplane? Boat? VTOL? Giant squid?"

Henry Wallace
Stepping out of the shadow of the alley, he spots a man leaving an apartment complex.
"Hello, Mr. Saur," he calls. "I can get you wherever it is you need to be going. I have a private jet, and while it's no giant squid, I believe it will suit your purposes."

After a brief moment of surprise, Sigeismund regains his compusure. With one eyebrow cocked, he addresses the man stepping out of the unremarkable alley.
"Guten Tag, unremarkable man," Sig says with a heavy accent.
"Eh, I couldn't help but notice that you were noticing my talking to myself."
"Have we, eh, met each other? Perhaps at social gathering or work-based venture?"
Sig cricks his neck to the left and right.
"Ya, I am also quite curious as to how you know about my current needs. However, if you are willing to... let me 'hitch a ride' I would be willing to ignore my pressing questions." Sig says "hitch a ride" with some difficulty.

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
"Now, Mr. Saur, I don't know all of the specifics. However, I was to watch for you anyway, and its obvious that you need to get somewhere." He begins to walk down the sidewalk and motions for Sig to follow. "My jet is nearby. You can fill me in on your destination on the way."

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
Sigeismund Saur
It takes a few moments of tense flittering for the offer to sink in. First, Sig's eyes flittered to the rooftops, back to the door, to the man, and to his own waist, where he knew his Peacemaker and Parabellum waited for the chance to see the light of day.
"Phht. I didn't bring nearly enough guns," Sig thought to himself.
Before waiting too long, Sig briskly walked after the man. "Ah... ya, 'tis just odd that I gets the offer for a free ride by men in ordinary-looking clothes in alleys, right?"
Why not? There'd been times where wildly accepting offers that were just a mite too convinient turned rather dangerous, and no doubt there would be more situations in the future.
"Ah, well, I have very few specifics, and I would hope to call in a favor to get said specifics, but I have a general idea. We go to Austria!"
For now, though, Sig threw caution to the wind, walking slightly behind the man.
"So, you, ah, how to say, you have met me? Or perhaps you have heard of me? I am a regular at some of the local institutions."
"Who, exactly, has given you this odd order to wait outside my abode, and why?" Sig expected no clear answers.
"How did you know where I was holed up? I have done my attempts, at, eh, keeping my safehouse a secret. Even the women, they like somewhere clean, right? So it just saves time to go somewhere else!"
Erp. That sounded much better before translation. Now he just looked creepy.
"And, eh, what, exactly, might I want to address you as?"

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
As they headed towards the jet, the man introduced himself as Henry. "What I will tell you is that who I normally work for is unimportant, but that this is solely the idea of a private contractor who would be interested to meet you. Beyond that I cannot say too much, though surely a man of your reputed years knows the importance of a few secrets, correct?"

Sig's Progression
"Oh, ya. Not to worry. You would not the be the first person who would come to me with a few secrets who was simultaneously offering me rides to foreign countires."
Sig smiled as he walked alongside Henry. It took him a moment for his mind to perk up on what he had just said.
"Wait, eh. How much did you say that you have heard of me?"
"Want to make a joke?"

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
"..."
"No joke then, right?" says Sig. He checked his equipment; he was only bringing what he had in his pockets. He didn't want to intrude on his gracious benefactor by asking him to wait.
P08 Parabellum. 16 7.65x22 pistol rounds. A S&W .357, and two speed-loaders. Wallet. Car keys. Broken cellular phone. Flare gun. Injections and stimulants. A copy of Time Magazine. A detachable stock. What might be a can of Mountain Dew. Someone else's car keys. Lint. Probably more.
It was good to have deep poeckts.
"Well, then you can tell me more about it all once we get to the airport, ya?"

OOC:
SpoilerI have a pretty hot memory, but until I go over the thread again entirely, I'll do my best.
Meanwhile
A man, menacing and dark, watches 'Henry' lead Sig off into the night. He wears a headset barely visible on his left ear, and as he watches them, he trembles slightly, nervously twitching a few of his tics. Without dialing, he says, "Mark is on the move. Unknown escort, Henry. Follow easy, target 2, vision 3, peacefully." A smile forms on half of his face as he twitches his mouth. His teeth slide out and gleam in the darkness.
Marco Cornaro
"No sir." He replies. "Sorry, but all the primary ballistics testing hasn't happened yet. With your authorization, I can prioritize it, but the head Forensics won't be in for another..." He glances at his watch. "two hours." He shrugs and slides forward a pad for electronic authorization, where your signature goes.
Carmen Christine
The immediate entrance looms before you. The darkness is broken up by thin slits of light from the lattice-work plywood over most of the buildings windows. The hallway before you is lit up enough for you to see a long streak of blood leading through a doorway into the main area, where, unfortuntely, it's too dark to see even the blood. Noises, like a zoo at night, funnel out to you.All glory to Vrythas in regards to my snazzy AD&D Game Master avatar.

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
Sig cricks his neck to the left and right. Wait, was that good or bad for you?
Back in the 70s, it was supposed to give you arthritis. Or was that your knuckles?
Definitely the knuckles. Then was it supposed to be good? It didn't feel really good. It felt more like an annoying habit.
It seemed like a fine time to lighten the mood.
"So, two fish are in a tank..."
Sig's hairs stood up on end. The last time he got this feeling was in Peru, just before the blowgun dart hit him in the neck.
There would be no blowgun... blowgunning this time!
"I have an odd feeling."

Re: Spy Games: Evil Unseen
Well, that's it. It's been 20 days, Levayathyn. It was short, but sweet. There were some pretty damn good character designs here, weren't there? I enjoyed it, at least. I think everyone enjoyed it.
I mean, I personally like to think that Sigesimund had other adventures - probably even with the groups and characters were mentioned. It'll be another great, if unfinished, chapter in his history. He's a fun character to play - though I just wish he had a bit more resolution in his storylines.
As for everyone else, I don't want to say we should lose hope. But I mean - it's been a while. Levayathyn, I'm assuming that either you just lost interest, and don't really feel like coming out with it, or you're injured or something.
Which is - well, no, it's not okay to leave us hanging. Unless you've really been injured, or something terrible has happened, in which case we probably will be able to understand that you were unable to update or tell us.
But, unless that's the case - well, methinks this is it. Maybe we'll continue it. Maybe not. Either way... thanks for a little fun. I was a pretty compulsive checker and poster - I'm always like that. Maybe I'm too stingy. I dunno anymore.
Best wishes.
