Re: [4E] Keep on the Shadowfell, party of six [IC]
Tarins first arrow hits the Dragonshield, the second misses.
Spoiler
I'm unsure about how much damage you dealt, was it 11, or 9+11, for 20?
The Wyrmpriest hurls an Energy Orb at Resh, dealing 5 damage. A minor wound for the tough Paladin.
The Dragonshields both advance forward and issue a challenge. The Dragonshield which Tarin hit with his arrows, advances on Tarin. He roars at Tarin...which is to say he barks because he is a kobold.
The Skirmisher attempts to climb up the nearby boulder, but fails, making several frustrated adorable squeaks.. He then advances on the party.

Tarin's first volley strikes the Wyrmpriest, dealing him a serious wound. The wyrmpriest is bloodied. He snarls in pain, and then utters what sounds like a combination between a curse and a prayer. He points at Tarin, and then at DS 1 and then at Rain again. He then advances on the party, and vomits forth a gaseous cloud of acidic vapours..which are blown away harmlessly by the wind.
Dragonshield 1 moves to engage Tarin, and attempts to attack him with his Short Sword. He strikes Tarin solidly on his leather armor, dealing no damage.
Dragonshield 2 advances on Resh, and and strikes him with his short sword for 9 damage.
Dragonshield 3 attempts to attack Rexacor, striking him for 6 damage.
Both Resh and Rexacor are marked by their respective attackers, if they attack anyone other than their markers, they are at a -2 to hit.

Aelyn, Half-elven warlock
Aelyn quickly circles around the combat, ending up slightly north of the wyrmpriest. Shadows gather around the half-elf as he first calls down a curse against the priest, then evokes a powerful spell which he fires at the kobold, only to have it miss incredibly.
"by the arcane might granted to me, I curse this day to be your last. you shal never again trouble Winterhaven."

damage - (1d10+3)[10] +curse - (1d6)[6]
Moving in a curved patern to avoid the combat, ending 2 squares above the wyrmpriest.Since he is certainly far enough away from where he started his turn, Shadow walk takes effect, giving concealment.

OOC: Just to speed everything up a bit, I will go before my turn. Forgive me, but I have the feeling this game is dying and I am sure none of us really minds.
Move action: Alejandro moves 1 to the right and 2 up.
As Alejandro runs to a spot to cast his spells his staff starts to glow brighlty.
Minor action: He has cast light, because he is rather excited.
Ice sparks away from his hands. Emra watch out, duck!
Standard action: He casts Icy terrain. Located at... the square of W. That means that W, D2, D3 and EM are within the area (that is a burst 1) If it hits they are knocket prone and I deal 1d6 + 4 and the entire area becomes difficult terrain!

Re: [4E] Keep on the Shadowfell, party of six [IC]
SpoilerGoing back to Resh's turn, I believe the text for marking an opponent says "any attack that does not include them gets a -2." Since the Dragon's Breath does include D2, I believe the -2 does not apply to any of the targets.
Also, Emra may have some choice words for some of her comrades when the combat is over.Last edited by RandomPlayer; 2008-08-07 at 03:00 PM.

Re: [4E] Keep on the Shadowfell, party of six [IC]
Though Resh had just included her in a dragon's breath, Emra is still rendered into a fury at the sight of her comrade's fall. To see one so great as a dragonborn fall in battle would make most lose confidence; for Emra, it is a warning that she needs to try to save her newfound friend. With a roar, she swings her sword in a wide arc to strike both kobold dragonshields within her reach.
Standard Action: Cleave on D2 (secondary target D3)
Cleave attack roll - (1d20+7)[23]
Damage roll - (1d10+3)[7]
+[3] damage to D3 if Cleave hits D2.
Minor Action: Mark D2, unless he drops in which case mark D3 (actually, what's the ruling on that - does the fact that D3 only takes damage as part of the ability rather than Emra targeting him negate her ability to mark him, since marking requires you to have "attacked" the markee?)
End turn (no move action or second minor action).Last edited by RandomPlayer; 2008-08-08 at 10:27 PM.

Regarding interpretation of Warlock's Curse. It specifically mentions under that section that you can decide whether or not to use it that round after you have rolled the regular damage. And ordinarily, if you miss, you don't roll damage. So, yes, you only get to use it once a round, but a miss does not count. Also, I think that the Curse damage should be maximized on a crit (Critical hits, pg 271).
Also, I'll move Aelyn since I'm up.
Aelyn's Warlock's Curse slays the Wyrmpriest in the face! He then disperses into mist, and reforms--mostly--behind the kobold skirmisher.
Spoiler
To me, a target qualifies for marking if you have attempted an attack. Which is to say, if you have used an attack roll. So yes, that does negate your mark. Also, for fighters, marking is a free action which occurs during an attack action.
Emra attacks both Dragonshields successfully in one sweeping motion.
The Skimisher makes two small steps away from the concealed Warlock towards Emra, and spears her (3 damage). He then hisses at the the other kobolds, and makes indications for them to move.

A vile smile appears on Alejandro's face when he sees Emra. A feeling of power burns inside him. It feels foreign, but it feel good. We need to make sure they don't attack the others, some heroic action....
SpoilerOOC: Some creativity here, hope this is legal.... Let's get the attention away from Resh and Emra.

Kobolds! This is your doom! DIE!
Standard Action: Alejandro casts Prestidigitation.
Big sparks of fire and light burn around Alejandro. (All are harmless merely sensory effects) His eyes light up and looks furious.
Standard Action using action point: Casting Sleep at P24 so that only D3 might be affected.
Using free action to say something: Party members I hope these kobolds will not attack me in the next round and will focus on somebody else, because I can kill them all if they don't stop me! (Using bluff check)

SpoilerThanks, I will not do this again, mighty DM. I would like to know though what made this action against the rules as I really intended it to be. Was it the use of prestidigitation? Because I did not actually used it to copy another spell. I used bluff mainly, but if the kobolds would do a Arcana check they would find out that the spell is harmless, right?Characters:
