Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
First of all, I'd recommend you get a few games under your belt before starting your own. It will give you a good sense for how a game plays out, and what is and is not balanced. And even then you might want to co-narrate one before running one by yourself, just to see what running one is like. Of course, if you think you're ready, you can give it a try.
As for the mason twist idea, it's an interesting one and could work. The one thing that comes to mind, is how many mini-groups are there? I would say 2 at the most. 3 groups would require nine masons, and that's far too many for your average sized game. Yes, they're split up at the beginning, but how long will it take for them to find each other? I'm reminded of the Girl Genius themed game that had two masonic groups that found each other pretty quickly. Given their size, and a few other factors, the Villagers locked in a win on Night 2 I believe. I would recommend either 2 groups of 3, or 3 groups of 2. Six masons is your usual size on average.
Now, another question is how powerful to make their ability? I'm unsure whether or not having their respective abilities be scry and bane would be unbalanced or not. I think it might be. You have a seer/baner who has triple the chance to find the other (always a powerful combo), takes two/three kills to get rid of for good, and has other people to discuss things with.
Now, as you probably were thinking already, a different power (one less powerful) might be best for this kind of setup. But yeah, I'd like to see this concept field tested.Avatar by Glasswhistle

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
Any idea when you'd like to reschedule this for?
Wasn't it supposed to run in... like... April?
I just poured over the past 10 (at this point) pages.
Somewhere in there you said April, not February.
Which would you like?
Look at the schedule & pick a date, my friend.
@Everyone: If you choose a DATE you get dibs on that date.
If you choose a MONTH I basically just keep track of the fact that you MAY want to start a game sometime around then, but if someone else chooses the last DATE available, it's theirs.
First come first served on DATES.
Sorry.
That post just looks like a bunch of code to me. I tend to miss things without realizing it.
And I think I got everything edited into the schedule now.

Whoops! I totally forgot it! I was supposed to post here ages ago!
Monty Python and the Holy Grail WW ended. The Frenchmen won, and we still don't know the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow.
Kudos to Shadow, for his excellent participation as Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-WW-Game. He was definitely the best pick for the role.So I herd you liek Mudkipz by Mr. Saturn

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
Maybe a couple more things need updating...
Fix up the spelling "Ravinca" --> "Ravnica"
Ravnica status: recruiting --> running
Memesville status recruiting --> running
Cancel Fears 2, and put a Werewolf Classic in the slot for Nov 24-28 (confirm with Zar Peter?)
Put Cristo's Christmas game on hold.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
Yeah, I saw that.
But to be perfectly honest, with the amount of time that I spend editing that table, answering PM's, solving scheduling conflicts & scouring this thread to keep everyone happy (all while working 100+ hour weeks at work & trying to play my games) when a game simply pops up that has never once even been mentioned.... I just ignore it.
You can't see it right now, but I'm giving you a really dirty look.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
It must be said that Catfight was announced in this thread, and I did speak to Zar Peter, where we agreed there would be little problem with both games starting in the same week, what with Convoy, Titans and a few other games roling towards a close right now.
It's only a small game and already has the 30 players it requires, so I hope there is no harm done. I agreed to conarrate on pretty short notice, and I thought it best to announce it in this thread as a courtesy to all.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
@ Reinholdt and PhantomFox:
Thanks for the feedback. I'm not planning on starting the game anytime soon-I'm planning on waiting until the games I'm in right now are over at the very least-but it's good to know how this would play out. To clarify, each subgroup decides, as a whole, where to put their one action. Each member scries as something like 'mason-bane' or 'mason-scry'. And several of the bad guys I have in mind (at least two as of now) scry as villagers anyways, making it that much harder to form a network. After looking over the suggestions, one thing I was thinking of (to solve part of the scry problem) Is to have two of the three people in each group scry as villagers, but only to the good guys. This would make it harder to form a cohesive network, allow another mason group, and still let the bad guys find a large group of masons. comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

OK, Catfight's on the schedule, but since it wasn't ever scheduled a date I have no clue when it's supposed to start.

It takes a lot of work on my end to keep this organized.
If you guys want me to stop doing so, I gladly will.
I don't mean to sound petty here, but my time is extremely limited. I'm stretched very thin at times. Most times, actually. That's why I choose to ignore games that creep in unnoticed, unannounced & unscheduled.

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
I throght here would probably be the best place to post this, although if people think its a better idea, ill get a thread.
Basically, after yesterdays amazingly good fun 5 games of werewolf over msn, Ive decided that with enough interesst, id like to make it a weekly thing.
My proposole is as follows:
Once i week, however many people who wish to turn up, all boot up msn, or at least be on it at 7-9 greenwich mean time.
During this time, i will run between one several werewolf games depending on how many people turn up (of course, only one at a time. Im not that awesome). During these games which roles are and arent there will change but all will be taken from what i deem to be the base roles (masons, villagers, wolves, seers, baners) in games under 15 people strong. Over 15 people more roles may turn up (devil, beast, day baner, etc.)
Judging from last night, these games seem to last between 45min -about and hour, so we should get through a couple in the 2 hours slot.
Anyhow, thats the basic summary (I hope it made sense), anyone interessted?Thank Saturn for this avatar!

They used to do that all the time.
They called it "The Ad Hoc MSN WW Game"

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
When you do it - post on Friendly Banter "Ad hoc WW game on MSN now"
and on your first post give a couple of MSN addresses of people that are currently playing in case someone wants to join.
At most I'd recommend around 12 players, but 5-9 seems to be the "sweet" spot for the player size.
It does get hard to keep track of votes, on the other side it is a insanely fun and intense time."see the little angels rise up high, how do they rise up, rise up, how do they rise up high?"

Re: Werewolf Central III - All potential wolves please read
For those of us tracking Monster Mash in the SMBG forum, the game ends with a decisive Vampire Win!
The original Alpha Vampire - St. Nil and his first recruit Deathslayer7 survived until the very end, losing only Zar Peter but recruiting Malmagor Andrigal for the win."see the little angels rise up high, how do they rise up, rise up, how do they rise up high?"
