Wow... Anura is idiotic if she expects to get that one past Hist, given his previous views, let alone Silas

And they are people. Calling them "Body Thief" is demeaning, changling.

And just a guess, but I don't think Silas'll be happy with being insulted and regarded as a monster

    Hist

Hist put a hand to his head, his eyes flared at this, but his voice was level. Dangerously so.

    Anura, you have no respect

The guards fought tooth and nail to defend this town, and the people within. And you are acting as though they are the monsters here. Yes, they committed crimes, but they did not believe there was another option. They'd been left as ghosts for ages, without life, unknowing...When they were offered another option, even if it was wrong, they grahsped at it. Like a drowning man grahsping at anything, even his fellow man..

Be honest. In their situation, any of us might have done the same. I know I might.

We've talked with them about their faith in Pygas, and I really don't think it's the same thing as faith in the One. There are similarities, but there faith is about fairness, where the One's was that of tyranny.

I'll admit, their might be something in the guard house, and I've got no real opposition to you taking a look. But treat the guards with respect. They died for you, and the others here. You owe them that much.

Silas appears to be honest with you, if ignoring your more unkind words.

After having helped Reid with the bodies Kjapp spends a few minutes collecting the arrows expended during the battle, for attention later, then returns to the temple.

    Reid rises, a bit unsteadily.

Well, if Anura and Silas are heading to the guard house, perhaps I can I can find some other way of being of use. There are graves to be dug, and repairs to buildings be started...that's if the townfolk decide to stay.

But we've also got graves to dig, and need to confirm that the curse energy is gone from the dead as well. Hist, do you think you still have the sense of that?

After preparing spells and before heading off to the guardhouse with Silas, Anura approaches Hist if he is still hanging around at the temple.

"Hist, when you heard the spirit in your head last night chanting the ritual, did it seem to be speaking with a modern intonation, or in the ancient accent we've noticed among the original Incrucio souls?"

    **Later**
Anura confirms with the townsfolk she asked to stand guard (if they are, in fact, still there) that no one has entered or left the guardhouse. She will thank them for the favor and give them a few days' worth of her rations.

I assume that what Anura sees is consistent with what Dothen described during his earlier foray into the building.

She is quite disappointed that the careful search of the guardhouse proves to be empty of anything remotely useful or valuable. On the walk back her face is troubled as she mulls over the party's recent failures and its future.

Back at the temple Anura will use 'detect magic' to identify which items in Dothen's possession are magical (or otherwise useful) and sets them aside for safekeeping. She will do the same with any magical equipment of the five slain body thieves as well as the bodies of the townsfolk that have been brought in and that have not been claimed by friends or family.

After an afternoon of working with a team of volunteer diggers, followed by many prayers said over the graves of those who were unclaimed, or the dead whose friends requested it, Reid was, frankly, exhausted. Knowing that there would be much conversation at the meeting that evening, the sweaty and dissheveled priest went back to sleep outside the temple for a few hours before sunset.
