"Hist it is, then. Let's not waste any time; we want to catch him before he's finished. Hist, you have a haversack, right? If it's not full, shall we just use that one? I estimate we'd need about 30lbs. of 'space' inside to hold a shrunken warlock and his gear."

    OOC:
    Spoiler
    Show
Hist has a haversack of his own, if I remember correctly. Maybe it's best to use that one, so we're not putting one inside another.

"A few suggestions. I'll render us invisible, and link five of us up with telepathy before we teleport. Reid, if we can also go in under a 'silence' spell...maybe on some small object that you can easily drop...that would be ideal. I can teleport us even under silence.

The first few moments will be key. I think Reid and I should focus on getting the summoner under a 'dimensional anchor' immediately, with Saer Uri and Hist attacking him directly. If Kjapp and Grazys will time their attacks to disrupt any spellcasting he might attempt, and be ready to cut him off if he runs, we should be able to bring him down quickly."

Anura retrieves the amber stone and wedges it carefully behind the rock outcropping, out of easy view.

"We can plan to retreat back here when we're finished, or if anything goes horribly wrong and we get separated. How does all that sound? Alternatives? Revisions? Questions?"

    Reid nods.

"Sounds about right. While we're trying to anchor him in place, it will be up to the rest of you to keep him from physically fleeing.

"I can provide the silence. Perhaps if Grazys takes the stone when we teleport, you'll have a chance to stay close to him, to keep him moving and make it harder for him to cast his spells. I'll be of no use if the silence stays with us."

All spells invoked save the short term ones, everyone gathers around Anura. Invoking the last few spells, a zone of silence erupts around the group and Anura silently wraps the aether around the group, focusing heavily on the location she had scryed.

With the last imperious gesture, the group vanishes from the field where they stood.

And reappear in a room, much larger than what she probably expected. With a quick look around, the room appears to be a festhall, probably two hundred feet by eighty and the group has appeared in the southwestern area of it. Tables are set up in rows here, with various odd things on them, spell experiments those of you magically inclined realize.

But that's not what you are here for. You all surround the summoner-hound who is still reading through his spellbook. He looks up and sees you all, shouting non-verbally.

However you all do hear another voice. "Who in Grahf's name are you!?!" comes from the other side of the room.

Hist rises out of the bag, still shrunk, and blasts his fires at the summoner.

Kjapp doesn't have to worry about ending the summoner, as Uri's blade has managed that quite well.

The paladin's blade slices through the summoner, cleaving between man and hound, and the summoner finally perishes, his body quickly decomposing.

Actually, while it is a Necromancy effect, it's not a Evil subtyped spell.

So you didn't make your save.

I should have been clearer. I was actually referring to this effect of Protection from Evil:

First, the subject gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures.
So, my assumption was about the alignment of Eizik, not the nature of the effect. My apologies for not being specific.

Looking at Uri and Kjapp, he lets loose with a Blasphemy, the words so cruel and vindictive that both men feel the words draining them of strength.
