    Default [4E][PEACH]The Seventh Veil

    New key word: Veil
    There are seven basic types of veil, each of one color prismatic line spells and each have it's particularities and characteristics:

    • Color: From Red to Violet, define the Veil power (Arcana DC 15 to identify)
    • Key defense: Defense that the veil will attack or increase, depending of the power.
    • Effect: Actual effect of the Veil.
    • Secondary Effect: This effect usually happen when the power miss or the power explicitly say to use.


    1. Red
      • Key Defense: Fortitude
      • Effect: Weakened (save ends)
      • Secondary Effect: Weakened until end of your next turn
    2. Orange
      • Key Defense: Reflex
      • Effect: Blinded (save ends)
      • Secondary Effect: Blinded until end of your next turn
    3. Yellow
      • Key Defense: Reflex
      • Effect: Immobilized (save ends)
      • Secondary Effect: Immobilized until end of your next turn
    4. Green
      • Key Defense: Fortitude
      • Effect: Stunned (save ends)
      • Secondary Effect: Stunned until end of your next turn
    5. Blue
      • Key Defense: Fortitude
      • Effect: Slowed (save ends).
      • Secondary Effect: Slowed until end of your next turn
    6. Indigo
      • Key Defense: Will
      • Effect: Dazed (save ends)
      • Secondary Effect: Dazed until end of your next turn
    7. Violet
      • Key Defense: Will
      • Effect: Roll 1d6 and apply the respective effect
      • Secondary Effect: Roll 1d6 and apply the respective effect


    There are also two powerful secret veils: White veil and Black veil, where each of then have it's own particularities depending on the power it's used.

    New Feats

    Veil Specialist[Wizard][Heroic]
    Prerequisites: Wizard
    Benefit: The wizard gain access to the Seven Veil power.

    Seven veil, Feat power
    Encounter ✦ Arcane
    No action Personal
    Effect: Roll 1d8 to determine which veil you will use. Roll again if you roll an 8. The next power you use that have the Veil key word, target/enhance the key defense of the veil and apply the effect/secondary effect of the veil instead of the normal effect of the power. You still deal damage if the power deal damage.
    Special: You must take the Veil Specialist feat to use this power.

    Veil Master[Wizard][Paragon]
    Prerequisites: Wizard, Veil Specialist feat
    Benefit: The wizard gain a feat bonus of +1 on all attack rolls made with a power with the Veil key word.

    Secret Veil: White [Wizard][Epic]
    Pre-requisites: Wizard, Veil Specialist feat
    Benefits: The wizard gain access to the White veil. Whenever a power mentions "White veil: ...", before you attack you may spend 2 healing surges and use the effects in the power description instead of the normal effects of the power, but still counts as applying a veil to the power. If you miss the attack you still loses the healing surges (but the power may have an effect even on a miss).

    Secret Veil: Black [Wizard][Epic]
    Pre-requisites: Wizard, Veil Specialist feat
    Benefits: The wizard gain access to the Black veil. Whenever a power mentions "Black veil: ...", before you attack you may spend 3 healing surges and use the effects in the power description instead of the normal effects of the power, but still counts as applying a veil to the power. If you miss the attack you still loses the healing surges (but the power may have an effect even on a miss).

    Paragon Path: Master of 7th Veil
    "If I want to use the 'power of the shinny rainbow' to fight you? Actually, I do!"
    Pre-requisites: Wizard, Veil Specialist feat

    Mastering the seven veils are difficult but those who can are the masters of defense and offense.

    Master of 7th Veil Class Features
    Chosen Veil (11th level): Chose a veil from the basic seven veils. When using a power with the veil key word you can apply that veil: target/enhance the key defense of the veil and apply the effect/secondary of the veil instead of the normal effect of the power. You still deal damage if the power deal damage.

    Second Veil (11th level): Chose a new veil from the basic seven veils. When scoring a critical hit with a power that you applied a veil, apply the effect of the veil in addition of the original veil being used. You still deal damage if the power deal damage.

    Last Veil (16th level): If the wizard uses an action point to gain a new action and he uses a power with a veil applied, roll 1d8 and apply the effects/secondary effects of the respective veil in addition to the original. Roll again if you roll an 8. You still deal damage if the power deal damage.

    Prismatic Lance, Master of the 7th Veil Attack 11
    "Nice sword, but I like my lance. Both of then"
    Encounter ✦ Arcane, Implement, Veil; Force
    Standard Action Range 10
    Target: One or two enemies in range Attack Intelligence vs Reflex or Intelligence vs Special, two attacks
    Effect: The wizard create two lances of pure arcane power where he will attack one creature with both of then or he can target two creatures with one lance each. Both lances may have different veils applied if possible.
    Hit: 2d6 + Intelligence modifier damage and the target is pushed one square.
    Veil: If you applied any veil to this power you still push the target one square for each lance you hit him.

    Warding, Master of the 7th Veil Utility 16
    "Attack ME? Think again."
    Daily ✦ Arcane, Implement, Veil; Conjuration
    Standard Action Personal or Area wall 4 within 10 squares
    Duration: Until end of your next turn.
    Special: When using this power, choose between the two types of use: personal or wall.
    • Personal: The wizard gains +4 power bonus to AC.
      Veil: The wizard also gains a +4 power bonus to the veil key defense. If any enemy hit you with a meele attack against you, make an attack roll.
      Target: Each Enemy that hit you Attack Intelligence vs Special
      Special: Target the veil key defense.
      Effect: The target get's the secondary effects of the veil.
    • Wall: The wizard conjure a wall that consists of contiguous squares filled with arcane power. The Wall block line of sight in the opposite direction of the wizard. To enter a square of the wall costs 3 squares of movement.
      Veil: Any creature that enter the wall square gets the veil effect. Any creature that starts its turn adjacent to the wall receives an attack:
      Target: One creature Attack Intelligence vs Special
      Special: Target the veil key defense.
      Effect: The target get's the secondary effects of the veil.

    Sustain Minor: The power persist in any form it takes (personal or wall).

    Prismatic Lance Assault, Master of the 7th Veil Attack 20
    "Why I call myself 'Master of the Seven Veil'? Because 'Lord of the Seven Prismatic Lances' would be too obvious"
    Daily ✦ Arcane, Implement, Veil
    Standard Action Range 10
    Target: One to seven enemies in range Attack Intelligence vs Special, seven attacks
    Effect: The wizard create seven lances of pure arcane power and each lance can be used to target an independent creature or a creature already being targeted by this power. Each lance have one different veil associated with then and will attack it's respective key defense but you can fortify one lance by applying the effects of it's respective veil.
    Veil: The wizard gains a +2 power bonus to attack rolls with the lance of the veil he applied.
    Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence modifier damage and apply the veil effect per attack.
    Miss: Half damage.


    New/Changed spells

    Prismatic Burst, Wizard Encounter 13
    You lob a fist-sized orb of pulsating white light some distance
    away, blasting creatures in the area with rays of multicolored
    light.

    Encounter ✦ Arcane, Implement, Veil; Radiant
    Standard Action Area burst 2 within 20 squares
    Target: Each creature in burst Attack Intelligence vs Will or Intelligence vs Special
    Hit: 3d6 + Intelligence modifier radiant damage, and the
    target is blinded until the end of your next turn.
    Veil:Instead of attacking will, attack the veil key defense and instead of blinded, apply the secondary effects of the veil

    Tried to be more precise with the wording and cut down the warding burst effect.

    The 11 attack you create 2 lances and can hit one enemy with two lances or two enemies with one lance. The 20 attack you can hit one enemy with 7 lances, or one with 2 and it 1 lances against 5 other enemies or any kind of combination.

    You may wish to word them as close as possible to the Ranger's Twin Strike as possible (cutting out the melee bits of course)
