Re: Blindsight
Yes that is where it was sent.
OOC: your room you are in currently is roughly 60x60 and round, natural cave.He came out of the closet? wow who could have known he was a bard this whole time.

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
"As I told Blanhey there, I'm Celeg. I suppose you could say I'm a scout. So what should we call you two besides 'Wizard' and 'Servant of Bel'?" Celeg asked nonchalantly. After hearing the answers, he continued, "If no one objects, I'm going to check out the exit first. It's always best to know which way to run in my experience."

Re: Blindsight
Caleg walks to the exit. Peering out he sees that you are all at the foot of a very deep crevice into the land surrounded by mountains. By judging how deep this crevice is you see hwy its called the heart of the world.
He came out of the closet? wow who could have known he was a bard this whole time.

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
Celeg poked around a bit outside, looking for a path up the steep walls of the crevice. If none were in evidence, he looked for the next best thing: a decent place to toss a grappling hook.
SpoilerDo I need a roll for that?

Re: Blindsight
OOC: ill use your perception from last time
Caleg see's no way to scale the natural wales and it is to high for a hook. The crevice however continues as far as he can see in the moonlight. He came out of the closet? wow who could have known he was a bard this whole time.

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
Returning to the group, Celeg said, "Looks like we'll have a to run along the bottom of the crevasse for a goodly way before we can find a way up. I recommend we turn left for no good reason other than it's a direction to go if we have to run for it."

Re: Blindsight
"I suggest we do not take the most direct route into the hiding-place. If there are defenders here, they will expect that and have guarded against it. We should also avoid the western passages as we can, as we could easily be taken from behind... Ah, but if we pass through the smallest chambers we can, we can take advantage of choke points more easily. I propose that we take the right fork ahead, then the middle path out of the first cavern, then take the most direct route northwards. No beast or other enemy will expect us to go straight through the middle!"

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
"Uh, whatever. If I heard you right, we're taking the right fork at the next intersection, right? Do you want me to go look down that way first, or just tromp over there?" Celeg asked.

Re: Blindsight
Felix
Felix walked quietly behind the others, looking around constantly. He spoke to the elf in hushed tones. Just don't go rushing ahead again.

Re: Blindsight
(OOC)
SpoilerMan, I really don't like being the one to make all these decisions... I really just chose a direction at random and then made up some justification to do it. Oh well, looks like I'm party leader at the moment.
"Take point. We'll follow behind and back you up if you find trouble."

Re: Blindsight
"Remember though, things could have changed since then. Why don't you go look ahead as far as the first chamber. We'll take it one step at a time. We'll await you here, unless we hear you're in trouble of course."

Re: Blindsight
(OOC)
SpoilerIt occurs to one that the entire party has low-light vision. Can we get some kind of downgraded Light cantrip on our resident Master of the Arcane that only does dim illumination If not, I suggest we invest in candles in the future.
Blanhey lights up one of the Sunrods from his Adventurer's Kit.

Re: Blindsight
Spoiler
OOC: Sorry. I thought someone had a sunrod lit already. I would have cast Light otherwise, if you want to save your sunrod and the GM is okay with it

Re: Blindsight
Celeg
SpoilerSince there was moonlight, Celeg wouldn't have lit his sunrod. If we can't get a 'dim light' spell, one of the main party with a regular light (i.e. torch) might shed enough for Celeg to see on point without one. The 4E rules are pretty sketchy on illumination, and don't seem to give a "dim" radius beyond the "bright" one provided by various light sources.
Once proper illumination was arranged, Celeg crept ahead into the tunnel, bow in hand, keeping an eye out for trip wires or other traps and potential enemies. If a light showed up ahead, he'd signal the others to wait.

SpoilerOk, sunrod it is. Celeg will be somewhere beyond its area of bright light to scout (20 square radius).

Re: Blindsight
SpoilerOk, Celeg will scout 5 squares beyond the edge of the bright light (i.e. 25 squares from Blanhey). That will give him 5 squares ahead he can see, and room to maneuver in the dim light for stealth.

Re: Blindsight
Felix
Felix is wary. He keeps his hand ready to rip his great-sword from his back, and he flexes his claws subconsciously. He suspected there was more to worry about then some goblins.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

SpoilerOne Perception check, coming right up. For future reference, if it's going to slow things up, I don't mind the DM rolling these kind of checks for me. Combat is a different matter.

Re: Blindsight
Felix can hear slight noises but is to far away to discern from his present location
The scout is near the fork and from the left notices a dull glow and hears muffled speaking, from the right only darkness and a strange chittering sound. He came out of the closet? wow who could have known he was a bard this whole time.

Celeg
Despite the strong temptation to further investigate the muffled speech to the left, Celeg returned to the group to report. "Light and indistinct speech to the left, chittering to the right. What'll it be, eh?" he asked.

Re: Blindsight
Light means flames, and flames mean people. Down here, it's probably goblins. As I suspected, there will be less resistance if we take the right fork."

Celeg
"I don't think that's necessarily true. If you'd rather leave the smart things alive behind us instead of mindless critters, who am I to judge? I can probably find out if they're goblins for sure before we make a final decision, if you want. Any other opinions?" Celeg asked.

Re: Blindsight
Felix
Felix scowls, his fangs glinting in the faint light. I am forced to agree with the elf. "probably goblins" is a better bet than some strange skittering. It could be rats, or it could be giant spiders.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste
