"Sounds like good times ahead." Zazalemal turns back toward the king's chamber, then pauses again, looking back over his shoulder. "So, is there an approximate value on his gratitude? Monetary," his eyes sparkle mischievously as he looks her over again, " or otherwise?"

Zazalemal follows the ambassador into the chamber, leering openly. He approaches Gyradan and bows slightly. "You summoned me?"

Arriving in the elven city, Adrius covers his face as he and his cloaked hostage make their way through the back streets towards before getting to the castle gates where he ditches the horse and gets the princess down off the horse. He approaches the guard, demanding to see the King immediately.

"hmmm... i had expected more of you to survive..." Gyradan growls lowly when he sees you "oh well... I had a feeling some of you might not return so I brought in some....reinforcements." Gyradan points to the two persons standing at his throne sides. "A duregar and a fiend." he grins.
The strategos, who is leaning to the wall facepalms himself and say " he's is not a fiend he is a elf..." Everyone is quiet....
"ahem... well its whats inside that counts. i should know! really!...ahem... sorry... well! are you guys ready for your second/first mission!? Gyradan smiles. its not a pleasant experience.

Zazalemal smiles back. "I'm ready for my payment. Then we can discuss what more you wish of me. I trust there will be no issues with me collecting the entire sum for the last mission. I also happened to acquire some extra items that may be of interest to you." He opens his pack and starts withdrawing the spoils taken in the ambush. He then eyes the others with nasty grin. "We'll see if these two are better at survival than my previous companions were."

Nothing...yet. Now I suggest you take me to the king before something does happen. And I would strongly suggest not trying anything.

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
"She is injured! Take her to the shrine, quickly! someone notify the king!" The guard shouts to the others "follow me to the shrine!"
he then leads you to a shrine inside the palace dedicated to the elven creator god. you cant remember his/her name (without a check) but you're sure it dosnt matter right now.
"Put her here." the guard says and gestures to a bench "tell me, in detail what happened."Last edited by Shademan; 2008-09-10 at 02:58 AM.

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
[roll=Knowledge (Religion)]1d20+2[/roll]
Adrius goes along with them for now. Once more lying through his teeth. I caught the scent of blood and burning wood and went to investigate. I had found the guards were dead and a [whatever Faithless' character was] was attempting to have his way with her. He's now sleeping in a pool of his own blood. A bolt I pulled out of her shoulder, however, was covered with poison. From what I can tell, its an old magic-resistant recipie that causes severe delirium. Anyway I must speak with your king now regarding this attack.

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
"truly the gods are with her." the guard sighs and merely moments after the king, accompanied by two sturdy looking elves in glittering silver-like breastplates and bearing weapons you have never seen before. It looks like a claw in one end and a square blade in the other.
"my child! how is she? what happened?" the elven king asks as he runs up to the bench. He is tall, fair and have long lustrous hair (using that word to describe ANYTHING on a male feels wrong.) and his clothes seems to be made of green leaves.
the guard gives the king a short version of your story to which the king grabs your hand...er...paw and shakes it vigorously "I cannot thank you enough! you .... are...not a forest creature..." as he slowly realize that you are not a local fey he shakes less vigorously.Need a setting for your game? a character concept? any gaming related ideas? Adrius gives a quick bow before the king, he knew how to act around royalty. There is no need for thanks. I have something I need to discuss with you in private Lord... He pauses, hoping the king will tell what his name is.

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
"Before I can consider a private conversation i must know WHAT you are. You are not a local fey, not a werewolf and certainly not a gnoll." the elvish king says bewildered.
(three clerics comes rushing in and run to the princess and start doing their... cleric thing)

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
Adrius leans on the railing of the balcony and looks at the king with a cold stare. I'm going to be very blunt. I was hired to assassinate an elven noble being transported who turned out to be your daughter. He gives the king a moment to take in his words. Her death was supposed set an example for those interfering in the fight between Erwin and Gyradan. My employer is making a good deal of money from this war and would like it if the elves were to pull out in order to balance the battlefield. In exchange, I offer this. He holds a small bit of tile in his hand.

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
the king stares at you for some seconds "so... you were going to kill my daughter. but when you found out who she was you saved her instead. and now you want the elves out of the war?" the king scratch his chin " Alas, i cannot pull out of the war. Gyradan is a foul beast and even if we turned neutral the drows would jump at us and the spider goddess would come with them!"

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
Who she was did not matter. I may kill for money but unlike the backstabbers running the streets, we keidran have a code of honor. I refuse to harm a woman or child unless I have a damn good reason. ... As for the drow, I could attempt to arrange something. My employer happens to have a drow embassador assisting him. If I can arrange for a treaty between you and the drow, will you remove your forces?

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
"it is good to know that you have honour. it seems to be lacking in these days." the king sighs " it is not that easy I am afraid. I must confess i am not to fond of the King, he seems to eager to send the elves to die. But. He is the rightful king and must therefore rule this land, lest it will fall into chaos as the old scripts say and besides, we could never have a treaty with the drow. They don't want it because they hate us and we don't want it because we can never come to terms with them or the spidergod."

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
Hold on a moment...you mean Lolth? He chuckles to himself From what I understand, the drow have abandoned that so-called spider god. And as for Gyradan, my employer has seen first hand the he has proof as to his right to the throne.

Re: Civil war, Gyradan
"abandoned the spider queen!? i knew something was amiss when they took to live at sea but this!?" the king shakes his head " The rite of blood. I'm sure. Inside the Royal castle there is a shrine to Hieryenus or whatever his name is. if you fill the altar with water and the subjects blood you will see if he is a rightborn son or not. Not that i believe it but you can never be truly sure about anything can you? besides... the old king had a thing for drinking and young ladies. heh." the king gives you a brief smile. "if you can prove both these claims... then i might take the elf out of this war..."
