Re: Gods in Glass IC
Vesper
Heeding the call of their dark father the Dark Elven enclaves closest to the Under-Empire avoided the scouting Duergar. To the Dark Elven mentallity it was perfectly acceptable to avoid combat if it could be postponed for a better time. For now they would just observe their patterns, their order of battle and wait.
If possible bold Elves would meet with these other creatures of the underground to establish trade routes to the surface, it would be a good first encounter and even better for intelligence gathering. Lull them into false security.

Re: Gods in Glass IC
The Tribe had been shrinking, ever since the Split. Nae-din had been just a babe when this happened, but still she knew this. She didn't know why, but she knew they needed help. And so she called on Artures, who loved the Tribes greatly.
"What is your sorrow?"
"The Tribe is failing. We need your help merely to survive."
"You have a great gift which you do not use. That is why"
"But Love and Lust do not feed us!"
"Not the Greatest gifts, but a different gift. The Gift of the mind"
"I do not know what you mean. I can't see it!"
"I will help you, for I Love you."
And Artures did spend a night with Nae-din, and she found her gift, and she had always had it. She trained with it, and she shared what she new with the rest of the Tribe. And the Naedinians grew, and prospered.Last edited by Cruxador; 2008-08-17 at 02:35 PM.

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Tion
Tion yelled once again annoyed by the evil gods cowardice with not showing up. Tion breathed in and then rubbed his eyes and roared a large, powerful roar. Then Tion yelled out once again, in a loud voice. "Reveal yourself or I shall kill your false animals."Last edited by Emperor Demonking; 2008-08-17 at 02:42 PM.

Barin
Annoyed, Barin showed himself in the council. He was clearly unhappy, and he rubbed his steel temples. Will you shut up already!? You're giving me a head ache! I swear if you touch those I have sworn to protect, you will feel the bite of my axe and I will command my people to begin a logging industry in your forest! Now, what, what is it that you could want so badly that you make the dire mistake of threatening those I protect?!?Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Barin
Barin leans in close to the other god, getting right in his face. He places his hand on his shoulder, and lets the feel of the cold steel that is his hand sink in. This was not a god you threaten lightly, or indeed, should threaten at all. I will do no such thing. I did not change them without recourse, I let them choose. Some chose to return to the non-sentience of their previous lives, but I do not begrudge them that, for it was a choice. Those that have remain changed have remained so because they chose it. I will not take away that choice, nor will you, or any other god who values their continued existence. I will say this once, and I will make sure you understand it. DO. NOT. TOUCH. THEM. If I find you trying to reverse what I have done WITH THEIR PERMISSION, or trying to hurt my people because of this, I will kill you. And if you persist, I will burn down your precious forest, so that my people can dig for the metal underneath. Do not mistake me, there will be no bandying of words. You will touch them at the price of your head and your life. If you misunderstand me, give it some time to mull it over, and ask someone, but if you do what I advice against, with all of my good graces, there will be no mercy. You will die. Now if you would like to voice a formal complaint, I am free to listen, but I will not stand by and let you take away the choices of others, or harm those I vowed to protect for your own misbegotten hatreds and pettiness. You are a god, act like it or the privilege will be taken from you. He stepped back, letting his words sink in, his face showed that he was deadly serious. Such insults and threats could be tolerated only so long, it would end here.Last edited by Lord_Asmodeus; 2008-08-17 at 03:05 PM.

Tion
"You gave them their intelligence. You a god that wanted them to stay intelligent gave them the intelligence to stay intelligent." Said Tion breathing into the metal god's face. "The fact that despite that some still had the strength to keep their true belief, says it all."
"You brainwashed them. The choice of the brainwashed is no choice at all."

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Barin
Barin sneered contemptuously. He wanted to believe it was the drink, but this other god was truly as stupid as he seemed. I no more brainwashed them then you have. I gave them intelligence, and a choice, no more. Those who chose to follow me did so because they wanted it, not because I did. Those who stayed chose so because they wanted it, not because you did. No more, no less. Your pettiness clouds your mind, its unfitting for a god.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Barin
I gave them intelligence, because something that cannot think, cannot choose. I think that you are a coward, who thinks too highly of his abilities. There have been plenty of chances to fight me, and many still when I was weak, you could have eliminated a threat in the face of your goal to destroy all sentient life and yet you did not. Why? It can't be out of compassion or such nonsense, since you have shown none to anything but the animals, so what could it be?Last edited by Lord_Asmodeus; 2008-08-17 at 03:15 PM.

"Can't think? Do you see pidgeons attack lions? Is it because it can't? No, its because it chooses not to. It has the perfect amount of choice." Said Tion "I like gods. I would prefer us all to live in peace with no intelligent races alive. That's why you live, because I don't want to kill you."

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Barin
Barin laughs at this, his laugh a raucous boom that shakes the very council. You confuse thought, and instinct. If I told a pidgeon I would allow it to choose between intelligence and instinct, it would not know what I'm saying, even if it understood my language it would not comprehend the meaning of my words. And, the purpose of the gods revolves around sentient life, if not for it we would have no reason to exist. And the thought that I live because you allow it is laughable at best.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

"You seem to mistake language with intelligence. You said choice. Pigeons make choices." Said Tion, wondering if anyone would say anything. "Resolves around sentient life? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Mine does not resolve around sentient life and I'm sure if I don't then others don't either."

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Barin
Barins laughter had receded leaving a deadly silence. You intentionally misinterpret what I say and you know it. The Pigeon has no capacity to make the kind of choice I am offering it, it is not the pigeons fault but that does not mean there is no lack. To make such a choice, the intelligence to comprehend the choice itself is needed. And While YOU may not resolve around sentient life, or perhaps you do, far more than you might think, others DO. You cannot have a world with gods and no mortals.Caesar Asmodeus by Andraste

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Tired of hearing bickering constantly even on his home plane Erothayce cut off all entrances onto his plane save for the one the souls came through. All entances no matter who's they are."Finally some peace and quiet. Now to go meet this new god and why he felt the need to connect my ogres to the world. Which I did not want." So saying Erothayce stepped into the shadows and stepped out next to the god of peace. "Hello, I am the god of the underworld, shadow and magic. I must ask you why you connected my ogres to the world.

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Khasis
Khasis watched as his beloved country, Athanasia, slowly grew in size and in population. The city of the same name was now a metropolis, rich and diverse. It was decided that the capital would become sovereign, a city-state. The other major settlements, known as boroughs, concluded a defensive alliance with Athanasia, thus forming the Peacekeepers League. Missionaries left to distant lands to bring the word of Khasis to all. Meanwhile, the god's sanctuary on the Isles of the Blessed was a paradise for scholars and young psions eager to develop their abilities. The building complex was now a lot bigger, as the Krystallen used telekinesis and metacreativity powers to accelerate the construction. They also cultivated a garden and fished to feed the people, all the while giving respect to the animals and the nature gods.
Khasis summoned the Unbodied Ensi to him. He felt their boredom and their loneliness. After all, they couldn't interact with the rest of the world in this form. The Learned God was tired after so many acts of creation. However, he was ready to help those few live a more meaningful life. He then shaped them into Arbiters. They weren't fundamentally different. Ensi were already a race with a strong psychic talents. The Arbiters appear to mortals as mysterious veiled beings dressed in black and white cloaks. In fact, they are ethereal creatures able to manifest for long periods of time. In the ethereal plane, they look like ghostly blue Ensi. While the psychic powers of the Krystallen are either defensive or harmless, those of the Arbiters are more offensive in nature. They possess a few harmful energy powers and are excellent at manipulating minds. The Arbiters serve as negociators, bodyguards and sometimes judges.
As Khasis was sending away the transformed Ensi, Erothayce appeared before him.
"Greetings my brother! It is strange, I swear another god claimed to be the master of the Underworld. Anyway...you wish to talk of your ogres? I have seen them in my travels. I am sure that they could learn much from the other races, and that those races could also learn from them. I do not understand why you wish to keep them isolated. However, if the ogres truly want to be left in peace, they can certainly build a wall to cut off the road. The people of Athanasia won't bother them."
((OOC: I have already used my three creation acts. I don't count the creation of the Arbiters as one, since they are few in numbers and not that different from powerful psychic Ensi.))Last edited by Kaiser Omnik; 2008-08-17 at 04:14 PM.

Re: Gods in Glass IC
(( idea, Idea!)
Aresk was sitting their thinking about the new god, and his new nation, how it harbored both pisionsts, and arcanists alike, and then inpsiration hit im like a train going at the speed of light.
He warped in front of the god a detailed skctch in his hand, a new race that would help forge a bond of freindship between him, and the other god.
"I my freind have been struck by inspiration, I have devised an enitre new race of quasi mortals, they will be psioinic, and although they will be peaceful, I request the ability to train them in the ways of war so they can defend themselves, in case of attack, I have done a detailed sktch of the new beings, here look at this sktech I have done.

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Khasis
The Learned God turned to the newcomer.
"Oh, it's you Aresk. Let me take a look. Hmm..."
"It is an interesting idea. I agree with their creation. I'll let them develop superior psychic abilities. I only have one condition. You will create them with a flaw. If one of the creatures ever harms an innocent, his mind will be affected by a disease and he will lose all mental faculties but those essential for living. This way, they will never be used as weapons."
At the same time, one of the Arbiters joined the gods at their meeting.
"Father Khasis has sent me as his emissary while he is busy with another god. What is the matter?"Last edited by Kaiser Omnik; 2008-08-17 at 04:22 PM.

(Heh, so you know the protoss, only killing when they have to.))
Aresk nods deeply, his sudden sugar rush style burst of inovation over, he bent ovr examing the sktch, and understood the gods meaning.
"But the flaw must be limited for if they are attacked what shall they do, I suggest we omit this flaw incases of self defense, or defense of another."

"Indeed, Aresk. That's why I specified innocents."

Aresk nodded, and realized hw stupid his question was.
"Well, I suppose we best get cookin, but first we need to decide if they should have their own city, or should we despoit them in one of the existing ones, because I had an idea for a rather large capital, that would serve them quite nicely."

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Uso watches the new empire grow, especially their island bastion. Pleased that they prayed to him daily, he made sure there was always bountiful fishing around the island. He also encouraged his people to start up trade with the land-dwellers in order to get those things they had difficulty acquiring themselves.
Uso then teleported himself to the new god. Seeing Kharsis busy with two others, he waits and listens quietly to the others.A mind without purpose will walk in dark places. - Gideon Ravenor

Khasis
Khasis spoke again to Aresk:
"Unfortunately, I have used up a lot of my power recently. You'll have to create them yourselves. The people in Athanasia will welcome them with open arms, if they so choose to live among them. However, they are free to settle elsewhere. There is plenty of land available."
He noticed Uso's arrival.

Re: Gods in Glass IC
Aresk nods, and decides that he knows the perfect location for these creatures, which he shalt dub the Protoss, cratures of great physical, and mental strength. the psionic abilities they possesed (with the help of a certain other god.) were the mightiest this land has seen. (be glad I didn't convince someone else to do Zerg.) This location was not well off, it was actually one of the more uninhabitable regions of the glass planet, and thus from the ground he rose a small outpost (minor act.) which he shalt dub Shakuras, while not ric in the bounty of the land the area itself was rich with minerals, with which they could trade, and forge weapons with which to defend themselves from the creatures that inhabited this land.
But Aresk was unsatisfied with this, and felt as if something of theirs was misssing, so thus he created Auir a majestic city in the desert a gleaming city of greatness with which he populated the Protoss, and soon they broke into social structures, the zealots (your basic soulblade.) being just above commoner, and the Templars (Psions/ whatever clericy PRc that would be appropriate.) at the top of the social scale.
Aresk was exhausted all these acts of creation had left him drained in addtion to his past actions, so he went back to the council a fresh bottle of sotch in his hand to celebrate the creation of this new race.
