Quintus sees that our fighters are in some trouble, but knows the battle should end before anything serious happens, so he moves next to Brathios and calls down a Dire Radiance from above to bathe the remaining goblin and himself in arcane light.

    Constitution Vs. Fortitude - (1d20+1)[20]

Tar-va'tyrr sees that fighters are in trouble but knows that he cannot help them directly in any way so instead targets the remaining goblins. He lifts up his hand and tries to create a conjure a ring above the goblin farthest back.

    Darkfire vs Ref (1d20+6)[15]
(If successful everyone will have combat advantage against the creature (+2 for attack rolls against the target) and it will be unable to benefit from concealment or invisibility until the end of my next turn)

He then run towards it and tries to stab it with his dagger
    Sly Flourish vs Ac (1d20+8)[10]
    Damage (1d4+8)[12]
(If Darkfire succeeds add +2 to my attack roll and (2d8)[4] sneak attack damage)

Hymath charges forward and smashes his hammer through both goblins, bloodying one of them (6,5)

The goblin that isn't adjacent to his runs back and throws a javelin (5), while the other prods at him with a javelin, but misses.

Brathios stands and heals himself. He stops bleeding.

Tar-va'tyrr's spell is successful, granting the party members combat advantage against the remaining goblin. His attack, however, fails to connect.

Carric's attack burns the creature. (4)

Quintus blasts the same goblin with dire radiance. (6)

Kranor finishes the beast off with fiery arcane energy, directed off of the wall so as to avoid hitting his companions. (Kill)

One goblin remains cowering in the corner by the receding wall.

It has been a long time since he has used his magic, and during that time he was beaten, starved, and devoid of books to quench his thirst for knowledge. He is exhausted, yet more alive then he ever felt was again possible.

Roaring, Hymath charges forth and smashes the puny goblin against the wall with his hammer. (11) It shrieks in pain and jabs at him, but cannot score a blow. Brathios then rushes forward, and with the aid of Tar’s ability and his speed delivers the killing blow through the goblin’s skull. All of the goblins lie dead, with Brathios and Hymath each lightly injured.

    ((Down 11 and 6, respectively.))

”Bravo, bravo.” Tybalt chuckles, opening the door to the armory. “You’ll do fine. We shall be leaving tomorrow morning, but I will need you in position later tonight. I’ll provide for your meal and any other desires you might need to fulfill before our departure at the Bederweir Tavern. Do not attempt escape during your dinner. You will be watched. One of my associates will escort you there, and later pick you up. Any questions?”

From beyond the door, past the imposing figure of the archduke, you see the jailer Bill Nolty staring at you rather strangely. At almost the second you notice him doing so he turns around and strides away down the hall.

Delighted that they will be leaving the prison, giving him access once again to the beautiful sky, Quintus can't think of anything better - but he is still curious. As he crosses to the table to remove his leather armor and don his finer clothing and pick up his traveling supplies, he asks kindly:

"And Sir Tybalt, what are these... other desires... that you speak of?"

"First, you maggot, you may refer to me as my lord, not sir!" he sneers. "Know your place! And as far as desires you can use your imagination. That is, if you aren't as brain-dead as you look. You need not know where you are going, or what you are going to do when you get there. All in due time." With that, the Archduke grins a hideous grin and turns his back on you, leaving you to the guards.

"Follow me, please." one says. Upon complying you are led through the cold halls of the prison, down corridor after corridor. You reach the entrance hall, where a huge set of iron doors are being opened by two guards. Whether you feel nervous or thrilled, its hard to say, but you certainly are overwhelmed by emotion.

At first the sunlight seeps in through a small crack, but soon it envelops you all, nearly blinding you. Basking in its warmth, and in the rush of fresh air from the door, you feel invigorated and alive. You look out upon the Municipal District of Deinkos. People rush about their business as usual, women and children among them. The spring sky is a pure, cloudless blue, and the banners of Castle d'Ondriam flap proudly in the wind directly ahead.

Those of you who have heard of the Bederweir Tavern know that it is a popular eating establishment amongst nobles, and has a mysterious reputation for bizare and conspicuous activities in its rented rooms upstairs. It is located in Tolly Park, about a twenty minute walk from here.

One of the guards waits for you to follow him there.

People don't seem to take to kindly Drow's no matter where you are. I guess it was a mistake coming to a big town. When I got caught I tried to escape and maybeI killed one or two people in self-defense, but I'm sure even if I didn't I would have been sentenced to death. Now, I feel quite uncomfortable remaining here undisguised, allow me to try and mask my identity.

Perhaps so, Drow...Tar, was it, but then you were alone. Now, you travel in a group, and a motley one at that. If this makes you comfortable, roll with it, and it may even make it easier for us together. But, think, if you will, of the advantage in terms of intimidation, a group with a murderer, a 'forged, and a dark elf. You'd still be feared, yes, but with that fear would come no small measure of respect. All the same, as you will.

The party, whispering and talking amongst themselves, are led through the Municipal Ward, past Deladin Ward where the kingdom's nobility live in luxury, and into the beautiful Tolly Park. Created to provide the people of the city with a place for relaxation, introspection, and playful recreation, the park's lush greens, bountiful trees, and impressive flower gardens are truly a sight for your sore eyes.

You are led down cobblestone paths to a wooden building, painted brown and green. It is set into the wall that borders Tolly Park and the Market, and looks old and humble. A wooden sign hanging above the door reads "The Bederweir."

The guards hold the doors open for you, and wait for you to enter. "You have until an hour past midnight," one says. After everyone is through the door they close it behind you.

The patrons of the Bederweir are most well-dressed noblemen and upper middle class workers. Many of them have suspicious looks about them, and you sense that they may be participating in explicit activities here at the tavern. They chat amongst themselves, some turning a slant eye to your crew and shuffling away. The seats at the bar are all open at this early hour of the afternoon, and the bartender beckons you over. He is a skinny man with scraggly gray hair all over his body, except for the top of his head, which is covered by a black hat.

"Welcome to the Bederweir, I'm Jon. I've been told ye'd be comin' and to accomodate yer every need. Sincere service with a smile, at tha'." he says, with more of a snarling smirk than a smile, although he does seem genuine. "Now, what can I do for ye? A nice meal? Or perhaps-" he leans in, "-something else?"

    Hymath

Hymath looms over the man, his faceplate telling nothing about his thoughts or feelings, if the machine-man really has any feelings.

I would like some sand and oil, if you have any.

    Kranor Firesmelt

Kranor knows what the man means by "something else" but is hardly interested in that at the moment. In fact, he has always remained too focused on his studies and service to Ioun for such distractions.

"A book. Thats what I need. It has been far too long since I have perused a tome of knowledge. Might there be a repository or library nearby?"

He turns to Carric and Quintus. "You two are welcome to accompany me."

He would invite the others, but gets the distinct impression that Brathios, Tar, and especially Hymath, would not be particularly interested in the "something else" that Kranor had in mind.

The cleric nods at the man, accepting his offer.

"Study would do one good. I would most certainly like to see what religious doctrines they have available to peruse."

The half-elf's dark eyes twinkle at the thought of gaining new knowledge of the pantheon.
