Anji couldn't help but laugh silently as he demanded drinks from Glyn. By the way, what does that screwdriver of yours do?

"This thing? It helps me repair myself when I'm all banged up. It's not as cool as that talking branch Snowblood found, though."

Yeah. Talking hedgehogs weird me out.

"So, what do you want to do once we finish helping Mathias? I mean, you do have something else in this life besides being tossed down hallways, right?"

Yeah. I suppose I'd go back to being a delivery boy and looking for a cleric good enough to help my brother. Thats the beauty of being a delivery boy, you can go just about anywhere and meet just about anyone.

"Well, definitely a good reason to keep searching, helping your brother and all. What will you do once you find a cure for his paralysis?"

Dunno. Never gave it that much thought. Maybe I'll go traveling again. Whatever, I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

"Hmm, you should definitely think about that. It's difficult for an adventurer to settle down, so it's good to find something that you love to do, and stick with it. If you love traveling, do that, and find a way to make it work for you. There's a difference between traveling and wandering, my friend, and I would feel terribly if you spent the rest of your days doing the latter."

Maybe I could start a business. A delivery business. Yes, it would be called Ultimate Peddling Service, or UPS for short.

"You could have a delivery service that just used runners, and name it Ped-ex!" Shield added with a smile.

Anji laughed and ordered a round of drinks. Care to join me for a swig? asked Anji, offering Shield a mug.

"If I could, I would, little one. Take it for yourself, because once you look into a mirror again, you'll need it."

Right, said Anji, removing the eye patch and returning to his halfling state. He then proceeded to nurse his ale. What about you? Will you stick with Korren?

"I will most likely stay with that young man as long as he needs me. When he passes on, though, if I'm not entrusted with his next-of-kin, I may return to what I was doing long before I met Korren. I'm hoping to find someone that can help me with my own dream, as it were."

You have a dream? Pray tell, what does this dream entail?

"I have a dream...that one day, my brothers and sisters will once more walk this land with equal status among the other humanoid races. I have a dream that one day former tools and the ones that used them can one day sit at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that those created after me will one day live in a world where they will not be judged by the metal they have as skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream...today...

That is what I'm working for...that is why I fight the good fight...that is why no matter what evils are committed in this world, I know that as long as there is a sliver of good left in it, there will always be the potential for it to triumph."

That was touching, said Anji, honestly feeling so moved by the speech that he would march on a large city.

"The only problem that's standing in my way is the fact that my only link to the rest of my kind lies under several hundred tons of rock, snow, and ice."

Nebraska's an archaeologist, right? He could help you out. Besides, he'd probably help you out for free.

"True enough, though I don't think he alone would be able to comprehend the vast abundance of history that that mountain range has locked away. Civilizations rose and fell in that area of the world, so centuries of culture lies beneath it all. I can't even begin to imagine what might be under those mountains. Perhaps one day I could convince a few of you to come with me to that place, and let you see what words can't describe...give you an insight into what I'm part of."

Sounds interesting, not to mention profitable. I'd be glad to accompany you and offer what little help I can, said Anji, his mind now reeling with thoughts of treasures.

"Well my friend, it seems that you'll have to wait on starting up that delivery service for a bit, because it seems that we now have a common destination. Perhaps Korren will be interested in tagging along with us. I'm certain if I asked him, and told him that I wanted to go to the Chantegor Mountains, he'd probably **** his head to the side, ask what it was, and become immediately interested in learning more about them, especially if I told him it's where I came from."
