The Church of McDade

[Zato-1]

Getting rather impatient, Anji borrows the glasses from Nebraska and uses them to identify the eyepatch and comb.

Anji looks through the specs at the eyepatch. He sees it radiation a wavering yellow aura that is constantly changing shape. Through the specs a glowing yellow marking is clearly visible on the outside of the eyepatch. It resembles a stylized eye.

Anji, going nst his better judgement, decides to try on the eyepatch.

Anji feels a wierd sensation as he grows taller, his teeth become underbitten tusks, and his clothing becomes a priestly vestment.

To everyone else in the tavern, Anji has just morphed into an accurately detailed Orc Priest of Gruumsh.

Anji, surprised at the fact that he is now at eye level with everyone decides to look in the mirror behind the bar. Anji then proceeds to flip his lid.

Also curious about the comb, Anji runs it through Glyns hair while he is not looking.

An image of Glyn's face appears in Anji's mind, and he realizes he can modify Glyn's appearance to suit his will.

Delighted at these finds, Anji stores them in his haversack.

[Zato-1]

Anji also pours water into the silver cauldron. He also dons the leather gloves.

The water sits in the cauldron, doing nothing unusual but looking sketchy for water. The gloves fits snugly over Anji's hands. He can tell they radiate magic, but doesn't know how.

[Zato-1]

Anji throws some bread into the water and waves about his hands trying to see what the gloves do.

Anji now sees something amazing in the water. . .soggy bread.

With a wave of his little hands, beer mugs and wine glasses start to fly through the bar. A stool Anji lingers on too long flies across the room and shatters against the far wall.

Gias shouts at the Halfling, "What the hell do you think you are doing?! You're smashing up my bar!"

[Zato-1]

My bad! cried Anji, removing the gloves.

[Zato-1]

Suddenly, Anji remembered the corpse of the gnome they found. He went outside to check it for wounds and such.

Anji realizes it is, indeed, a Gnome.

Nebraska went too. He also searched the Gnome while recanting his "childhood story" to Anji.
"You know. I was raised by Goblins. I was an orphan, my village burned down after a far too wild new year's party, and was taken in by a family of goblins. They loved me as their own." After this, Nebraska weaved a fake tale of how he was raised by a charitable goblin family who loved him dearly, and how goblins have a special place in his heart. In reality, he was raised by his parents in a town where archeology was as noble and grand a profession as adventuring, and very often the two professions crossed paths. He was raised to love learning and thirst for knowledge, and as soon as possible he left his town in search for ancient secrets and incredible treasures. Along the way he met many adventurers and after meeting each one, learned a little of their art until he was proficient in almost any field. Knowledge and discovery are still the driving force of his adventuring.

"I still don't understand it... What did He mean? Why me? Is it even me? Is He him? Am I still me? Who was He, or what is He? Could He be me? Am I him? Was He even a he? Was it real? Was it a dream?" I continue to think, causing me to be totally oblivious to the world around me; walking on instinct, seeing yet not seeing, hearing but not hearing, and talking but not out loud. "You know you need to tell them about it.... but how? When? I don't even know what it was." I continue to think, visibly unwell.

After leaving Nebraska to look at the gnome, Anji coouldn't help but notice that Glyn looked unwell. Whats up? he asked.

[Brandeath]

"I... Well...It's just-"I sputter as I try to find the right way to explain it...."I need to talk to everyone...soon...privately."

[Brandeath]

"I don't know what it meant, but I had an incredibly realistic dream last night. I started in space and then the world seemed to appear around me and I was gazing upon a planet of which I had never seen before. It was surrounded by swirling dragon marks around the equator. Then I was on a shore of a beautiful tropical island. Pillars of Draconic worshiping rites surrounded me and then I was approached by a HUGE Green Wyrm which then spoke to me. He said that I was one of the chosen pact bearers. That now I had a chance to return the favor that he, Mellantrix, gave to my ancestors. He told me that I would witness a Prophesy in motion. I was commanded to save the human children, for they have a special place in the world to come."

Alright, whatever you say, said Anji in a disbelieving tone. Bored, Anji decided to go talk to Shield. So hows it going? he asked.

[ZOMGoubeaux]

Surprised by the sudden interest Anji was displaying, Shield replied, "Nothing much at the moment, though I worry about Mathias. He seems to be too emotionally involved in this next mission, and I'm wondering if his emotions will cloud his judgement. I believe we need to stay on our toes, and keep our wits about us. I don't want to end up walking into any traps, you know?"

[Zato-1]

Traps? You use me to find those... with my body, or did you forget?

[ZOMGoubeaux]

"I don't mean the literal ones, my friend, though those are what you were designed for, Shield said with a grin. "I mean one set by whoever is holding onto his kids. We have to be careful, and we have to know everything we can about these captors and the situation that Mathias' children are in. We can't go rushing blindly in, despite our haste."

[Zato-1]

Right, but we have a whole bunch of things we can use for recon now, said Anji, donning the eye patch and transforming into the orc priest.

[ZOMGoubeaux]

"True enough, though I must say, this new disguise is definitely an improvement as far as your appearance is concerned," said the warrior, sporting a grin.

[Zato-1]

Y'know, I think I liked you better without the sense of humor, said Anji jokingly. I wonder if I'm any stronger in this form?

[ZOMGoubeaux]

"Anji, I hate to break this to you, but anything would be stronger than your tiny arms. I'm surprised the wind doesn't pick you up and carry you away half the time."

[Zato-1]

Thems be fightin' words, said Anji, grinning. Sit down, he said, gesturing at a nearby table.

[ZOMGoubeaux]

"Alright, I'm seated. What do you want, Short-Stack?"

The grin on Shield's face seemed entirely too human.
