At the heart of the island is a fortress inhabited by rogue ashenborn pyromancers of great power and protected by several constructs (starmetal golems, magma golems, Juggernauts and the like) and elder elementals. The ashenborn are busy with strange rituals involving the feathers and bones of phoenixes. Their ultimate goals seem to be to create more phoenixes then there are (since the birds do not reproduce) and to allow their master, K'Salaii, to come back into this world.
((Description by Omnik 'cause I can't find anything I want to change))

Set and Otako gazed upon the vast fortress within the island. Set seemed to get excited and whispered to Otako.
So, the earth mother was right. There is evil brewing here. Let us see what else we can find.

Are you certain that that is the most prudent course of action?

You worry too much. What’s the worst that can happen?

Set leapt from their hiding place and started to scale an unattended section of wall. Otako sighed and followed. They breached the wall and dropped down into a courtyard, if it could be called that. Great geysers and rivers of molten rock sprawled over the area around the central keep. Here and there, there were skeletons of grand dragon like beasts. However, there was only an occasional patrol of ashenborn or golems.

I thought there would be more. Where do you suppose the rest are?

Probably inside. They aren’t expecting an assault, for good reason too. They would be able to see an attack force coming from miles away. Let’s see if I’m right.

Otako was about to protest, but once again, it was too late. Set had already childishly dashed off to indulge his curiosity.

((Thank you omnik for giving me the freedom to tell this chapter. I will not post it all at once because I do not want people to be confronted with a massive wall of text.))

The leader of the monkey people looked back to its companions.

"We discuss with the Earth. It is not magic and I'm not sure you can learn it. Maybe with time...

But we do have some magic. Dances and songs to control the elements. We also have these weapons which are made of special material."

The monkey-man held his wooden staff over his head. A lightning bolt suddenly hit the weapon. Neither the staff nor the man were harmed. Most surprisingly, the sky was completely clear that day...

    "We are ready to trade."

    Alrinach

A flat, black square of nothingness appeared in the air of the Reaches, where Hetrimont had disappeared. Like a sheet in the wind, it rippled and lashed out at Alrinach, but was repulsed by a pure white beam of Law energy that wrapped around it and formed a roughly spherical cage of bright beams of energy and hung gently in the air, within which the black sheet-like nothingness twisted around itself and writhed gently.
Alrinach grinned at Abraxys and Gargax.

"Feisty. Still, I would not have it any other way."

Pulling his relic from the folds of his robe, he concentrated on it and it became crystalline, distorting its form into a multifacted, semispherical diamond as large as a humanoid fist, a smaller model of the cage of energy surrounding the strange black creature. In a blaze of divine energy, it glowed brightly for an instant before taking on a soft, permanent inner glow.
Alrinach tucked the Orb back into his robes, and the cage and creatue vanished.

The monkey people chose to learn the art of Wizardry. As promised, they led the Tekians to one of their villages and taught them their ways. They also offered to show them the Great Arch of Stone and the coast on the other side.

    Gargax

The Ensirex offered the now-sane undead the chance to come with them to their homeland. Those that agreed boarded a ship on return coarse to Shilliax, the ship was guarded by two cruisers, and watched over by Gargax himself.

Back at the camp more intelligent undead without emotions are called in, especially those like the Shade Kings who could be summoned from their locations without the long journey overseas, and more Changed were called in as well

    ---

At the gaping maw the Ensirex tried to blast the undead away with pure magical bolts, and called in aid from the Changed. Boneguard, Warrior Ensirex with finely crafted armor and weapons made from bone tried to attack them. Priests used the divine fire of Gargax, the immortal blue flames, to try and burn the creatures off. The leader and a small circle of fellow Ensirex wove a circle of four, all four of their arms curling out as is custom for spellcasting, and they attempt to create a divine cage for one of the creatures for study.

The spirit parasites were extremely hard to target, but were vulnerable to magic and especially the blue fire. The Ensirex succeeded in destroying some of the parasites while the others escaped. The divine cage also trapped one of the creatures.

From the southern coast of the island, one could see another landmass in the distance. The Arch in question floated above the water between the two lands. It was fascinating. The Great Arch of Stone was at least 75m in width and twice as tall. When the Tekians first took a look, the Arch was filled with smoke. In an instant, the smoke lit up and turned into a curtain of flames.

"We have never gone too close to the Arch. It is much too dangerous. According to legend, beings of great power once emerged from the Arch and taught our ancestors how to invoke the elements. The land on the other side of the water is not very hospitable. It is home to clouds of insects and beasts of all kinds. We believe creatures like you and I live there, but we have never met one. Then again, we didn't know anything about your homeland."

A representative from the city's government met with the ambassadors from the the two foreign states. The woman was dressed in tight fitting clothes made from an artificial material. Many tubes filled with fluids connected to the suit. Her face was human. She had pearly skin, black eyes and short, braided hair.

"Greetings to you, strangers. I'm honoured to meet esteemed delegates like yourselves. However, I must say I'm a little surprised by your tone. You wish to know our intentions here? Why is that? Are we doing something wrong? Aren't we on lands sacred to the Divine Engineer? We are simply taking back what is ours. We are also in phase II of the Experiment."

    Saradinians

A colony was established on the island, living a lifestyle much the same as they had on Teke. Teleportation between Teke and Monkey Island was a simple matter, and scryers attempted to find alternative routes to Monkey Island by sea. The Protoss and the Saradinians attempted to discover ways of preserving the environment before they would begin harvesting resources.

For now, the agreement between the Saradinians and the Monkey people would be honored. In fact the Saradinians would go out of their way to honor the agreements between them. Protossian tech allowed a profit of mining with no taint, combined with the wizardry of the Tekians.
