You all find yourselves in a dark ally in the North District, close to the Below District's gates. The moon is almost at it's peak and is the biggest of the month. A couple of buildings ahead of you, you see a few dark figures heading out into the light of a street lam. The luminance reveals them as hoods with large knives. The shine of the blades disappears as the shady characters skulk to the other side of the street, moving behind a well-lit house.

Lorenmyre

Striding down the cobbled alley comes a man in full dress armor of exceptional quality, seeming made out of solid gold and burnished to a shine. Long blond hair falls past his shoulders, and fine features betray that he is one of the faerie folk, an eladrin. A tall helmet with flared wings sits comfortably under one arm, and his other hand clutches what could only be a map of the city. It is clear that he's a little lost from the slight crease of his brow and the way he keeps looking around for landmarks. When he catches sight of the furtive dark figures, however, his features harden and his mouth draws into a line. Casting his map to one side, he sets his helmet reverently over his head with both hands, swings around an ornate shield from where it had been slung over one shoulder, and then draws his sword with a long hiss of finely tempered steel.

You there! Stand forth and declare yourselves!

It's not his city or his people, but when you've spent your whole life training to protect civilians it becomes an instinct that's hard to repress.

Eris

Despite being no stranger to the darkness, Eris, has always found it slightly unnerving - something clearly visible from her face as she hurries down the alley. On seeing the cloaked and armed figures, she stops abruptly. Thinking quickly, she wills herself to become invisible and slips into the cover of a nearby doorway, hoping to avoid attracting attention to herself.

After several months of expecting death to emerge from the shadows at any moment, Eris is unlikely to confront these figures without at least learning a bit more about their intentions first.
