    You should be alright there: one move action to move, one standard to use twin strike, Fox's Cunning as an immediate reaction... that leaves a minor action free for quarrying.

    (I had to draw a dagger to use Fox's Cunning - that's where the confusion is. I'm not sure if that "load" action is counted as part of the power use or if I had to blow a minor action to whip out a dagger. Kind of a gray area. But, if it's all right with you...Quarry away!     Seeing Therian go down, Lukas redoubled his efforts, moving towards the larger vespid while attempting to slice through it to hit the smaller one nearby. Both target kept dodging his blows, and it was all he could do to try to keep the attention of the larger bug.

    Wounded by Sylis' magic, the vespid changes direction and flies over to perch atop a tall boulder, tracing a precise path between the ready blades of Lukas and Darion. It attempts to crush Sylis' will with its psychic buzzing attack but the distraction of the glaive-wielding elf prevents it from focussing enough attention to be effective. It's accompanying minion continues trying to chew on Lukas but he finds its animalistic attacks easy to avoid.

    Only a dozen feet away, the other large vespid performs the same mind-dulling attack that its companion attempted, although with no success. It darts away from Darion and its protector minion slips into its place - but is unable to bypass the mercenary's guard.

    The rock-perching vespid is on a rock 26 of 42 hp. The other is on 36 of 42 hp. Everything missed with every attack, although it was only Lukas' mark on the vespid which protected Sylis from the psychic attack.

    The boulder the vespid is perched on is about eight feet tall. Lukas can poke at it with his glaive at a -1 penalty, but shorter weapons can't reach effectively.

    Incidentally, if the glaive allows opportunity reach attacks (I'm AFB right now so I don't know) then Lukas can claim one against the rock-perching vespid as it flies past. Or, you know, the one you get when it moves away from you. Which I think is enhanced by fighter powers. (Once again, AFB.)

    Darion grunts, "Hang on, Thieran...", he'd make it, but these monsters had to be dispatched before anyone could attend to him.

    He carefully slips out of reach of the protective vespid and slips two daggers from his belt. One goes flying towards the minion in front of him, the other is launched with a 180 spin, like a pitcher lurching around when someone's stealing 2nd base.

    N-8 (Prime Shot bonus since Thieran is KOed): (1d20+6)[9]

    One down...hmph! Now, at least, his companions would focus their attention forward (and interpose themselves between him and an angry wasp monster).

    For the first time this fight, Lukas hits cleanly, arcing his glaive through the smaller vespid and allowing it's weight to carry it into the larger bug. He focuses his attention on distracting the vespid.

    Larus calmly moves to O,11, and turns to face the large vespid. He points his sword directly at the creature, gazing at it from under his hat. Fight. He says, and flourishes his blade. Suddenly, a glowing mark of a star-decorated hat appears on the creature's underside. Should the creature choose to not attack Larus, it will find the mark burning, dealing 5 radiant damage, and giving the creature a -2 to its attack roll.

    I will be using an action point (thus +3 to hit due to Action Surge, +1 using a psychic ability with Dark Fury) to use Curse of the Dark Dream versus it's weakened Will defense,


    The laugh becomes maddening as the vespid is forced into visions of uncomprehendable terror. In fear, the vespid flees to N-14 where it believes it is hiding among rocks, just as the terror subsides, it realizes it is surrounded by 3 of the adventurers trying to kill it.

    Looking on as the battle raged, Aramous found himself strangely calm. Was this because he was in battle? 'No,' thought Aramous, unwilling to let himself be happy with blooshed, especially his allies. Gatheirng his anger together, he focused it on the nearest monster, and moved aboutten feet over to get a clear shoot, letting loose another burst of fey energy.

    Despite its body and mind being blasted by Sylis, the vespid atop the rock manages to connect the purple hat blazing on its body with the purple hat worn by someone on the battlefield and launches a mental assault even as it buzzes around in a panic, avoiding a real attack from Aramous and several imaginary ones.

    Outnumbered, out of tricks and seeing what has happened to the other vespids, the second survivor turns its back on the battlefield and flees towards the castle as fast as its wings will carry it - which is fast enough to outpace anyone else on the battlefield.

    The south vespid is on 15 of 42 hp and marked and divine marked. It managed to shake off the curse, though.

    The north vespid is on 33 of 42 hp and is leaving the map at top speed (16 squares at double-move). Lukas can make an opportunity attack, but unless you've got some special power you're probably not going to stop it.

    Larus takes 8 psychic damage and is at -2 to attack rolls (save ends). I don't see this lasting much longer, though...

    unless it healed itself or has damage reduction, shouldn't the rock-vespid be at 5HP from all my attacks, and due to my movement of it elicit AoOs from Sylis, Larius, and Darion if it flees?

    (The maneuvering for the last few turns as a little tricky, but I think Potato got it right. The vespid was at N-14 and there was no one adjacent to him when he began his turn.)

    Darion was slightly dismayed to see his prey flee the scene after such advantageous positioning, but there was still a chance to prove his skills and vent some anger. He dashes off after the vespid still trying to escape and aims to hack it out of the air.

    (Darion moves to N-13, designates the remaining monster as his quarry and uses Twin Strike)

    ((Nope, you're right, it should have had 5 hp instead of 15. My apologies; I was pretty much useless at everything yesterday.))

    Darion vents his frustration on the remaining vespid in a terminal way. Having recovered a little it tries to escape by flying away but in a flash of blades its head is severed, landing in a muddy puddle not far away.

    Darion drops his blades and skids to the ground beside Thieran to examine his condition and begins immediate first aid. (Hopefully in addition to or with the assistance of anyone else in the group. What precisely this entails, I do not know. Chest compressions and a cocktail of atropine and ephedrine? Haha. Oh, and Darion either isn't intimately familiar with paladins or doesn't know Larus is one exactly; a healing check can't hurt anyway. And all of this is totally moot if by "all status effects" you also meant Thieran's Dying status...)

    Darion growls, stops the compressions and checks on Thieran's breathing.

    "He'll be fine. The poison got to his heart, but he's stabilized now. He just needs a few minutes..."

    He gets up from his knees and goes in search of his 'misplaced' daggers - easy to find, most of them were lodged in the bodies of the slain vespids. "Let this be a lesson about running off to melee combat ahead of the group. For the love of...does ANYONE have some alcohol?"

    Without waiting for an answer he returns to collecting his knives then goes to perch on one of the high rocks and keep watch and clean his equipment while everyone else recovers.

    Thieran stays still for a moment, then jerks up gasping. The hand that was glowing springs up and clamps to the place where he had been stung by the scimitar-like stinger.

    The glow fades, and Thieran blinks. He staggers up and only then notices the concerned party members around him.

    "Tri-Seathdig mental block! Hard as Annwn to channel the power. It was all I could do to purge the poison from my bloodstream, and that took energy enough."

    He steps forward and staggers, grabbing at Lukas. He pauses, then gives Lukas a wan smile.

    "Give me... a moment. So... tired. Wait!"

    He glances up at Sylis, concern etched into his expression.

    "Sylis - you were hurt, too! Just a moment!"

    Thieran unsteadily strides over to Sylis and grabs at Sylis's injury, covering it with his hand. He chants in the elvish-sounding language, and the faint green glow hovers around his hand again. Sylis feels the agonizing pain fade, replaced by a soothing chill. When Thieran removes his hand, the wound has closed, leaving only a small scar.
