Phaedric, puzzled by the swarm's activity, holds his position, and cries out to them, "Hail ye foul beasts of the sky! I am Phaedric, champion of Helm, guardsman to the king of Tir-Na Nog! Come forth, or flee like the pigeons you are!" He spits on the ground and tries to discern evil in them.

Running out of the cave, with her Bo in hand, Hana shouts: "Who ever you may be, brave adventurers, you shall not stand alone"

With those words she closes the gap between herself and the two men, and assumes a combat stance.

<OOC: Hey everyone, so this is how I make my entry here. Just applied for the game yesterday and got accepted. I have just finished my own intro sequence and gotten through the cave, so this is the point where I've finally caught up to you guys. I'm really looking forward to playing with you. >

(Nice to meet you hun!)

"Come! You cannot hope to beat so many alone!" Tyrielle will yell to her companions... not wishing to abandon them and flee, even if things seem to be lost. "If we take cover, they will be unable to follow!"

Even as she speaks, Tyrielle draws her weapon in a flash... pulling only a single blade from the sheath on her back and holding it defensively to her front. Her stance is precise and elegant... despite the worry in her voice.

"We must not be seperated, or we are all surely lost! Come with me!" She speaks to her new allies one last time, hoping to persuade them to abandon this losing fight.

Barondark turns for a slight momment to look back at those standing there and shouts "I'm sorry guys but i dont think those are the Great evil we were sent here to kill and dieing here as soon a we get here will not give us anymore answers" he raises his voice so it carries as he continues to run " RUN FOOLS!" {still hoping he makes it to the forest beyond}

< The first 2 swarms are upon the party now those with weapons drawn will get the first swing at the tagets as they move in close attempting to ram themselves into each of you standing there. <<everyone at this point if you dont know OOC can make a wisdom check to reconise these creatures as they are fairly common in most lands wisom -2 1d20+2 is your roll roll under your wisdom i'll send those who make this check a private messge with the name> they are supprisingly agile in close quarters <each of you gets one attak per weapon if you have 2 drawn then you can get 2 but each additional attack is at a -2 to hit 1d20-2.>>
< as if some unseen command went off the cloud begins to move diving in the same manner as the small groups now upon your party it appears to move a little slower as the sheer numbers of them hamper thier flight some. Barondark being the only one who ran and just kept running is now nearly to the forest on the other side of the clearing the mob will be on all of you soon>

Well, now that we're engaged, and the majority of the group seems to be determined to fight... Tyrielle will do the same.

Holding her blade defensively to keep as many of the flying creatures as she can at bay... she swung at one of the creatures in a short, clipped slash. Given their small size, she imagined the force needed to disable one was minimal, and it was safer for her to keep her weapon close to her body.

In short... an attack with only one blade drawn... to keep her AC bonus from the One-Handed weapon style. Dice rolls to follor in the dice forum.

"I beg of you all once more! These creatures are blood-sucking beasts. They will not cease, so long as we live and breathe. We cannot hope to defeat them all! Flee with me, or be lost!"

And with that, Tyrielle prepares to make a run for her life.

Moogy swings heartily with his huge axe, but cleanly misses the little creature.

He has no experience with these beasts, but upon hearing his companion's description of "blood-suckers", and with the seemingly ever-growing mass of them in the air, Moogy decides they must flee as well....much to his chagrin.

"Aye! Well I be needin all tha blood I got! None for these pesky things!"

"I can't stand tha idea of runnin' like a coward, but there just too many of 'em! Let's go! Altogether! I can't drag all of ya with me....Run for tha cover of those trees!"

[Miata]

After getting a better look at the situation, Hana thinks to herself: "as much as I would like to hold my ground, she is right of course, we must flee. Now.

"She speaks the truth. We need to run now if we want to make it out of here."

With that Hana swings her weapon again, trying to dispatch the second monster attacking her. After that, regardless of the result, she turns around and runs into the direction of the others.

Tyrielle will follow suit... running with her companions as fast as she can while leaving no one behind.

Phaedric stands his ground as a swarm of 4 of the creatures swoop in toward him. As they dart within range, he springs up from his crouch and slashes both his swords through air at them.

He lands in a crouch and looks behind him. He missed!

< The Sirges Zip about within the party and zoom in on each of you attempting to strike.
Four of them zoom in on Phaedric one zooms by his ear the other 3 strait at his head two sticking in his neck one in his right soldier. The 3 left on Tyrielle zoom about her frantically but anytime they try to zoom in her blade is in the way so they give up and seek easier targets allowing her to flee. The one Stirge on Moogy zooms by but has to feint to the side of his axe to avoid being chopped in two. The remaining stirges on Hana zoom in two of the four manage to zip into through her armor. All of those that struck seek to suck the blood from their victim’s next round it taking either them dieing or a bend bars lift gates check to pull them out.
The rest of them that missed their attacks will pick new targets those that were on Tyrielle will ignore her as a target.>

< The one that missed Phaedric continues its assult on him smelling the first scent of blood it presses its attack. One of the ones who was on Tyrielle turns and finds a tasty morsle of a dwarf to try and drink from joining the other one on him and both press the assult. The remaining three turn smelling blood from Hana they attempt to join the 2 on her by attacking. >

Hana tries running towards the western forest, while at the same time trying to dodge her attackers and get rid of the ones on her neck by trying to punch them off.

Phaedric lets out a yelp of pain as the stirges attack him. He falls to his knees as on of them buries its head in his neck. He cuts at it with his scimitar, and it falls out, dead. With his brad sword, he bats aside another stirge that dives in for an attack. He gets up to run to Hana's aid as another buries itself in his left leg, and he collapses back to the ground.

[Miata]

Hana keeps running towards the forest on the west, all the while struggling with the bats and her own fatigue. Barely able to stay concious, she somehow manages to get rid of one of the beasts.

But once she reaches the forest, her strength leaves her. She passes out from the blood loss, one of the bats still on her neck.

Moogy, legs-a-pumping, just barely avoids a fall flat on his face (not once, not twice, but three times!)...as he heads North, following Larry, the first of the group to run, and the only comrade he saw running in any specific direction.

"Bloodsucking @#$%&*s!!! Get otta me way! Ya dun want none of this gritty ol Dwarf! Skin's too tough fer yer like'ins anyway..now get!"

"Larry, where are ye?!?!", Moogy whispers (as much as an adrenaline-charged yet quite relieved Dwarf can whisper) for his earlier departed comrade.

"I'm getting the feeling I know why ye ran so quick to this treeline."

"...pointey-eared hoity-toities....makin me skin crawl..", he murmers to himself.

"Larry? Tha party's split...not sure if the rest made it. Those damn beasts were bloodsuckers! Larry?....Larry?"

Larry pops out of the shadows. “Ha-ha now this is funny hearing a dwarf call for help, What happened Mr. big bad dwarf I thought you were going to take out that swarm by your self?” Larry looks around to see what he sees.

Moogy's eyebrows fall in on each other, and his teeth grit, yet he knows he is in a "strange" wood, and better keep his mind clear and his inner storm calmed.

"Ah there ye are, 'Larry the *Brave*'...first running and now hiding."

"Bah! Time's not fer bickerin'...we got comrades back there...I think. Not sure if they made it or not...if they followed me...us...or not.

"You plannin' on takin' on 'the Big Evil' all by yerself?"

Moogy scans the area, feeling...knowing something's still not right about this place.

“I, dwarf I do plan on taking out the great evil. Now if the party as you put where smart they would have followed me and ran as I told them to.” Larry shakes his head. “ now if they live or die it’s on their own foolishness. You of all of them should know that a tactful retreat is sometimes need in battle and not to be fool hardy and stay and fight and die.”

<The Swarm has at this point reached the eastern Treeline and is curving to folow the path the first 2 smaller swarms took. passing east to west before the cave entrance at thier current rate of speed they will reach anyone still there in a short time if this happens its nearly assured death just by the sheer #'s of Stirges present. though there is verry few still rising from the cliff face now mainly just younger ones just learning to fully fly and playing now that the adults are not around who may also attack the young if they are percieved as being weak and thus becoming food. at this point Moogy is stumbling his way north twords the forest barondark has taken shelter at the edge of Pheodric is just now killing the stirge in his neck and getting hit in the leg, and Hana your monk / cleric who ran out to join you having never met any of you prevously is rushing off to the west twords the apparent safty of the forest there while battering at the stirges stuck in her. <i would put status for Bloodyangel but she is behind 2 posts> >

Phaedric grunts and gets back to his feet. He runs to Hana, and drags her into the western forest. He stops to rest and heal Hana. He performs his Laying on Hands and heals her for 2 points.

Larry pulls out his spyglass out of his belt and looks to see if he can see the rest of the party. Larry turns to the dwarf and says “so you say they ran west, maybe we should go see if we can meet up with them dwarf.” Larry put the spyglass back into his belt and begins to walk west on the road.

Moogy, although slightly skeptical of Larry's true intent in helping the others, realizes first that their party absolutley must *not* split up again, and secondly that he wants out of this forest that has been giving him such a strange vibe ever since he put his first heavy boot down in it.

Although he feels edgy around the elf called Larry, and moreso in these woods, Moogy knows that the overall good is what's at stake here. His comrades, no matter who or what they may be...as long as they are here to battle this evil with him...must be regrouped, and must fight alongside each other, as one.

So, he hefts his axe over his shoulder and trudges off after Larry, in hopes of reaching the rest of his party and assisting them if possible, or dragging them to the safety of the treelines that seem to border the field in which they were just ganked by the swarm.

He hits the road, keeping the edge of the North treeline in view as a possible "haven" to avoid the swarm, if it begins to attack again. It's a fine line for Moogy, as that North woods just felt "wrong", but feeding those bloodsucking pests from his veins most certainly is not an interesting thought.

"Wait up, *Lare*, ah'm comin' with ya", he grunts.

"Nothin' quite like followin' an elf....ah well, we must get back t'gether as a whole. This party splitt'in up like this is downright foolish!"

"Great Evil...save 'em all...shyeah! and here we are mess'n around like this...gmrrumph! Wait up, elf...me legs are a'pumpin!"

Keeping up with Phaedric without any issues she moves to stand over phaedric and swings at the stirge stuck in her left arm hitting it. she continues her strike dancing about Phaedric as she does her blade dazzling in its beauty of motion.

< The Fury of the blade dancer continued and managed to fell all but one of the Stirges. though it only had animal intelegence the remaining one will still flee
Tyrielle at this point is still bleeding she will stop to bandage her wounds. she sees the wall of Stirges still advancing she moves deeper into the forest and helps Phaedric drag Hana deeper >

< For Tyrielle, Hana <knocked out>, and Phaedric <near passing out and still bleeding. the stirge in Phaedric's leg draws 4 more HP out of him having had its fill it pulls out and slowly flitters away through the trees.
The forest is wildly over grown and the din of bugs and wild things can be heard in it for a short time.. then the wall of stirges nears the forest. most the host will pull up and head back to their nests while smaller pockets of stirges will roam the forest seeking prey. the animals and other things in the woods having seen this before take refuge in any place they can find.
Tyrielle urges Phaedric to help her lay hana under some overgrown roots of trees quickly finding refuge she then will bind Phaedric's wounds stoping his bleeding tearing strips of her shirt off and compressing it with some mud she makes with her water skin. >

< For Barondark, and Moogy. the forest goes for quite a ways folowing the road as it nears the smaller forest the road turns north.
to the north you can see at a distance what appears to be a ruined fort or castle. there is a small clearing before the wild woods and the outpost.
the woods are wildly overgrown but can be entered here this other forest does not make Moogy's skin tingle. <private message sent to barondark>. >

Phaedric helps arrange Hana and sits while Tyrielle tends to his wounds, assisting when he can, and occasionally wincing. "We need to rest for a while," he observes.

He sets about making camp. "I must rest for a few days. Wake me when you need to sleep."

Phaedric lays on a soft patch of ground and drifts off to sleep.

Larry slows his pace so the dwarf can move at full speed. Larry looks at the dwarf and says. “Ok lets see if the others are still alive shall we.” Larry keeps walking to the other forest.
