Jerik and Beren head towards the banner they picked out. As he walks, Jerik begins letting his Tiefling roots show, far more than normal. He holds his head at a slight angle, accenting his spiral horns as they jut into the air; and allowing a red glint to catch in his eye. His long, nearly prehensile tail is slashing back and forth as he stalks through the camp.

Looking for individual or a weak group of kobolds, out of sight of Al'Cazor's camp, Jerik tries to pick out a likely target to weed out, intending to be chased by a small portion of Kobolds right towards Al'Cazor, or at least have some blood and gore decorating his sword when he reaches them.

"You don't know me, I am Jerik Al'Shesh of the Shadowed Shield." (Al' refers to family lines and clans among the tiefling, Al'Shesh essentially translates to houseless, or without family; and Shadowed Shield is simply the formal name of the Blackshields).
"Rek sent me to find you. I was with a party on the outskirts of camp, when the Kobolds attacked us; I don't know what they intend, but I fear they will try to kill us all, if we don't do something first."

Jerik speaks sincerely to the Tiefling commander, all the more so because what he said was all true, if slightly misleading.

Jerik finds few kobolds on his way to the Al'cazor banner, most accompanied by mercenaries. He certainly finds no time that would be good for ambushing several kobolds before arriving at the banner.

The Al'cazor warriors are predominately Tieflings, though some are humans and there are a few elves. Al'cazor himself is a devilishly handsome tiefling who carries two axes on his back - he has little armor, but his bearing is graceful. When he hears Jerik's message, his black eyes widen. "Thank you, Jerik Al'Shesh, for this information. Truly, one must be wary of one's allies. Would you like to stand by one against the little beasts, when the time comes?"


Tenet, Zenos and Taskon slip through to the gate, but it is shut tight. The assault has begun, and several ladders have already begun to be thrown onto the walls. It would be risky, but you could climb one and be in town faster.

It would be an honor to stand at the companies side. But I fear that if we wait for the kobolds, they will either take us all piecemeal or grind us against the walls of Slateline.

I had intended to find the dragon, before Rek sent me to you. If we can kill it, the kobolds should disperse.

Al'cazor nods. "You are either very brave or very foolish, Jerik Al'Shesh. One would be happy to fight by your side, but one must seize the wall. If one can gain the wall first, one can defend oneself against the Kobolds. Thank you, Jerik Al'Shesh."

Al'cazor begins to order his troops forward, bowing one last time to Jerik.

"Very well, perhaps I shall see you soon. First though, I have to get back to my friends, who are fighting the kobolds even now, on that ridge." With that, Jerik turns and heads back to the embattled party on the ridge.

Only one minion falls to the icy blast of Quill's power, and neither crossbowman or skirmisher falls to attacks. However, the kobolds in the icy blast are having a devil of a time gripping on the ice with their claws, slipping and sliding.

Four minions charge to G1, F2, F3 and H3, stabbing at Aedrus; the wounded skirmisher leads them in the charge to G3. One of the Dragonshields clambers over the ramparts to H2, slashing at Quill, while the other leaps down and circles around to E1. Three minions on the right move to K1, K2 and K3, two stabbing at Calenethir.

Meanwhile, the crossbowman is reloading something special for the ice mage. Satisfied, he aims and fires, the bolt bursting into flame as it speeds towards Quill.

Tenet, Zenos & Taskon: Taskon slipped into the city and went into an old house, coming out tucking something into his coat. The three of you evade several patrols and make your way out of the city, where you run into Jerik and Beren. The five of you make your way across the camp swiftly - you arrive at the bottom of the map.

The minions on the east flank attack, aiming for Calenethir. The Kobolds within the barricade dance about, inching their way into flanking positions. The Dragonshields move to I1 and F1, while the skirmisher moves to H1. Minions move to I2, G2 and J3.
