Soo. I've pulled together a band. We will play one song: Viva La Vida, by Coldplay. I'll be on bass guitar and vocals... We've got tons of time to practise before the talent show.

This'll be fun, but do you other band geeks have any advice for me?

Pay attention to your other people. Particularly if you're the bassist, because you, along with the drummer, control the flow of the song. Get to know the other people, and make sure you're keeping good time before you start singing/while you're singing/etc. Good luck, and godspeed.

"Viva La Vida" uses next to no percussion...

And I do know the others fairly well, so that's good...
I'll have to remember to keep a steady beat and all, I suppose.

You need a good band name.

    I suggest "Real Smooth Moves".
    Or maybe "The Screaming Sociopaths".

I'm a fan of silly two word band names that don't make much sense but are totally awesome in retrospect.

Things like "Electric Chandelier" and "Extra Crispy" and "Unskippable Cutscene". I would so totally listen to a band called "Unskippable Cutscene".

I'd name a band "You Suck!"

That way, when the crowd inevitably starts chanting "You Suck!" because of our complete inability to play music, it'll sound like they're chanting our name.

Was it Dave Barry that had a list of great band names?

Edit: Listening to MacArthur Park right now, Richard Harris version. That song is so delightfully narmy...

Pretty much how I feel every time I look at the recruitment thread for Fears 2...

"You have to run this game! You have to run this game!"

One night later...3 people have signed up...

So encouraging. I guess the rapid-fire sign-ups for Graverobbers spoiled me...

You'll get more people, I think it would be a kinda slow sign-up for any games right now because of the holiday coming up.

I'm just spoiled I guess. Last game got almost 50 players, I'm sitting on 23 with only a week left in recruitment.

    Bah, I'm whining again...

I still haven't figured out how you do online roleplaying 'round these parts... What mystical devilry is employed by ones so arcane in their practice I wonder...

Kind of a shame since I'm the rootin'est tootin'est pirate in town an' all.
