Siegfried, who seemed to be asleep, suddenly gets up and goes looking for the captain. He takes his bag with him.

Ragnar sees Siegfried Aye, 'ow ye doin' this fine morn? I 'eard there be skaven further up ahead. He says with a big gold toothed grin.

Carl looked for the first person aboard the ship who was a regular crew member he could find. Running up the stairs, he saw the captain talking with one of the others.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I have a quick question. I'm the surgeon you hired, just in case you forgot. Where is the "post," I should be manning, I don't know where anything is aboard the ship. Sorry."

Carl then waited patiently, because he knew he had interrupted a conversation.

Hmmm........Good question. Never thought of that me self. Go down into the galley. You can set up there for the time being. If ye don't know where that is, theres a door under the stairs behind all the hammocks, in there you will find the galley, say the captain sent you. I will find a permanent spot to put you, but now's not the time. Ragnar says while keeping his eye, on manning the boat.

Carl scampered down to get his belongings, and brought them into the galley, where he proceeded to "set up shop."

[Etcetera]

Tethellin leaped out of his hammock and ran above deck. He walked over to the nearest sailor and asked:
"What should I do?"

[drum-n-bass]

One replied Ye could help get sails ready.

[Etcetera]

"How? Unfurl them, pull ropes, what?"

Kordon tromped down the gangway to the main room belowdecks. The elf, he saw, had taken a "corner" hammock. Good idea on his part. The dwarf selected a spot near enough to keep an eye on him, but far enough to not draw too much attention.

He glowered a bit at the ruffians and swabies around his spot, making it clear that his pack was not a good place to be found with hands too nearby. Though not the strongest dwarf around, his toughness and fighting experience was fairly obvious. After checking the contents and making sure the axe was clean and dry he stowed the gear on the hammock above his own.

Aw, that fool boy is picking fights already...bragging about being Asur isn't going to do anything but get him in trouble. Well, I'm not charging his father what I am for nothing! Kordon watched Susi, the cook, head off and heard the other...Carl...introduce himself. That left the human...but maybe he's just a passenger.

The lurch of the boat leaving the pier and the cry of the captain brought Kordon's attention back to the crew. They headed off to their duty posts with a modest amount of grumbling.

"Well boys, I guess its time for work. I'm Kordon," he said, nodding at Tethellin and Carl. "It's up the rigging for me. You two try to not fall off the boat!" The dwarf laughed as he climbed the steep stairs back to the rain-soaked deck.

Siegfried takes a look around and makes sure they're alone. I just wanted to make sure you haven't forgotten about the... special part of our deal, Captain. Also, what exactly kind of help will you requie from me?

[Xsesiv]

"You could help me with the cannons an' stuff."

[drum-n-bass]

Yeah, that would do you good. Go an' help Gundred.

[Morty]

Siegfried does as he's told.

[Xsesiv]

"Right, what you's gotta do's t'pull t'e cannon inta place while I tie it in wit' rope. Then, ya gotta load it wit' powder an' a ball."

[Morty]

Sounds simple enough. Siegfried would do his best to take care of the cannons.

[Xsesiv]

Gundread oversees the gun priming.

"C'mon lad, tha's not enough, 't'needs 't'least a pound o' powder a charge."

The galley is cozy. It is located in the back of the ship, right below the first mate's cabin. The very back wall is counters, the right and left walls are full of food, rations, rum, etc. The Captain keeps it very well organized and stocked. The back wall, which has a door through the stair way, is against the main cabin and gunning room.

By the time Carl arrives, Susi has already stowed her gear and a spare hammock in the corner, and is in the process of investigating the well-stocked cabinets. Hearing him come in, she looks up with a pleased smile, which promptly falls away when she realizes who came in and what he's doing. "And just what do you think you're doing in my kitchen?"

as the halfing comes in and "sets up shop" in the gallery becky asks captain tell you to set up here? she then turns to susi and says if you stay here looks like you get a good view of the surgeon at work... hope you dont mind that, although it does mean that at anytime some one is hurt they will be rushed in here with no warning,so might not be so practicle, you staying here i mean. becky says goodbye to susi and heads above deck to talk to the captain.

..... captain... becky says this with mild awkwardness, as though shes not used to having supiriors around. what you want me to do? just make sure every ones being useful and doing their job while you steer the ship?

BOOOM!
"heh heh...that's an explosion. Whereas, when you use less than a pound o' powder;"
BLAMM!
"See."

While not currently life-threatening, Gundread's ministrations on Siegfried's gunhandling are very annoying and are putting every member of the crew off and wasting ammunition.

ermmm. be right back captain... becky walks off under deck, then picks up speed to get to gundread.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!!!! WERE NOT UNDER ATTACK! DONT WASTE THE AMMO! .... it is not even as if you are dumb, your just so childish

Gundread's hand strays towards another cannon with a taper.

dont you dare! god its like talking to a brick wall sometimes!

Gundread reloads the cannons then turns to the side of the ship.
"B't all t'e walls here're w'den. You never let me shoot t'e cannons, 'less we're un'er attack. An' then I a'ways miss."

Gundread grizzles like a disappointed three year old.

becky rolls her eyes, and tries to comfort him realising she had been a little harsh, but its the only way he learns look, if you shot the cannons all the time, we wouldnt have any gunpowder or cannonballs left, to shoot the baddies ships with, and if we couldnt shoot the baddies ships, then all da wiccle baddie wadies would hurt us, and you wouldnt get to see big holes wipped into tha sideywidey of their shipywippy? she realises afterwards she had been speaking to him like a baby, and then clears her throught *ahem* is that ok?

"Um...'Spect so, but I dunno what yeh meant by t'e las' bit. Do I getta shoot t'e cannons at t'e ot'er ships or no?"

yes, you get to shoot the cannons at the other ships, dont shoot at any you see though, ask me, er... the captain first

"Captain's orders, ma'am, sorry. There's nowhere else for me to do this, soo.... you're choice, stay if you think you can deal with it."

"I get ta shoot t'e cannons at ships!"

yep you sure do, becky turns to siegfried and says he knows what his doing, his just... over anxious is all and turns to leave, fully expecting another cannon to go off before she had even reached the stairs

Gundread sneaks up on her and shouts "BANG!" in her ear.
