Really Interesting Story
I used to do a crappy two-bit webcomic on this forum, and I realy love OOTS as well as Erfworld, so when I ran across this website I thought maybe fellow gamers would enjoy it as well. It's a site where a guy writes a blog for a homeless man. Since he has no way to do it himself, the homeless guy tells the blogger what to write, or else the blogger will just transcribe conversations between the two of them. Here's the link if you're interested. I think it's a really neat way to ge tpeople involved in helping fight homelessness.
The guy has some scool stories.

Re: Really Interesting Story
Thats cool.
Its sad how many pages those Random Banter threads to increase post counts get while no one stops by to simply say "thats cool" to something as awesome as this. Real shallow folks. Real shallow.

Re: Really Interesting Story
Heh, those stories are great. My experiences with homeless people have shown me that they're usually completely awesome, or totally crazy. Sometimes both! Tony sounds more like the former, which is cool.

Re: Really Interesting Story
What are you doing here? Why aren't you out helping in a homeless shelter?! Shallow man. Think of someone else for once.
Yeah, I wouldn't go around judging people for no particular reason. That is what we call 'being a jerk'.
And on topic, that blog is fairly interesting, yes.Last edited by Player_Zero; 2008-12-17 at 02:18 AM.

But your right, i should be doing something more productive that simply talk here. But just because IM shallow doenst make you NOT shallow.
Im just judging your threads as an example, being the largest offender i happened to notice.
I also looked at the random thread first and, finding nothing, have asked people to justify it.

Re: Really Interesting Story
That's nifty. The homeless people in my town mostly just grumble or go on rants.
Thought one of them was speaking via divine inspiration, then he asked me my name, thought it was 'Self' and went on a rant about how being your 'self' is all you can be, and that's mumblemumblemumblegoaway.Life is a gamble, roll the dice. If your life is like cards, rig the deck.

Re: Really Interesting Story
A homeless man often hangs near the gamestop. He holds a sign that says he can cancer and cant work.
I was the only one amongst family or friends willing to go talk to him.
Poor man. I dont know if its cancer but he certainly has something wrong with his CNS. Nice guy though. He thinks it was smoking pot that caused his condition.

Re: Really Interesting Story
Im glad everyone actually thinks this is interesting! If you like it, and want to help, spread the word. There's also a completely cool, but totally unrelated charity organization called kiva.org, where you loan people in third world countries money at no interest instead of just giving it away. That way you can reuse the same donation over and over again- great for those of us with lighter wallets.
Just thought I'd mention it, since this thread seems to have attracted a few humanitarians.

Re: Really Interesting Story
Cool stuff. Are there any cast page? Tony seems interesting and I wonder how did he turned to be a homeless like that.

Re: Really Interesting Story
That's really neat.
We don't have too many homeless people in Ellicott City, at least not homeless people on the street, but in F-burg it's rather surprising. There are a few dozen of them that all know each other, and they've memorized the bus schedule and will ride around all day until the driver kicks them off.

oops
I need to amend my earlier statement that kiva doesn't charge interest. Apparently their field partners doing the actual lending in the impoverished areas do charge interest, but kiva doesn't profit from it, and won't loan through borrowers with unfair interest rates.
My apologies for the confusion.
