My method for writing fics:

1. Boil some water.
2. Get my well-worn notebook and a #2 pencil.
3. Drop 15 live crickets in boiling water.
4. Smile sadistically.
5. Dip fingers, ever so slowly, into the boiling water.
6. Scald myself terribly.
7. Take a trip to the emergency room, where I'm treated for second-degree burns.
8. Return home.
9. Turn off the burner.
10. If there's any water left in the pot, wait for the boiled cricket soup to cool sufficiently and then eat it with some blueberry-pomegranate juice.
11. If there isn't any water left in the pot, scrape the charred remains out of the bottom, mix with mayonnaise, and eat it spread on white toast.
12. Change bandages on burned hand.
13. Sit down on the sofa and write fic.
14. Use the restroom.
15. Type up fic in Microsoft Word (the top-rated word processor program for serial killers).
16. Bring up GitP shipping thread and hit 'Reply.'
17. Copy+Paste fic.
18. Hit the 'preview post' button.
19. Watch this video five or six times while I wait for the server to process my request.
20. Make necessary formatting changes to fic (such as text color changes for dialogue), correct typos, etc.
21. Repeat steps 18-20 until satisfied the fic is 'perfect.'
22. Change bandages on burned hand again.
23. Post the fic.
24. Re-read the fic again.
25. Angrily click the edit button.
26. Check this website while I wait for the server to process my request.
27. Repeat step 20.
28. Re-submit the fic.
29. Repeat step 24.
30. Whether or not there's any more changes that should be made, I throw my hands into the air and go do something else for a while.

Okay, am I the only one nerdy enough to type it all our in notepad because Word is too feature bloated? Although I write it out longhand first, not because I prefer longhand, but because if I'm at a computer, I end up playing online instead of writing.

Also, I have two more instalments of Ship Wars written and ready to type in, but will wait for the shiney new thread to post it.

Dark Moon Rising I typed in Word and formatted when I pasted it into my blog and here.

The Shadow-fics I actually typed in Word with the formatting tags for the board. If you just leave out the quotation marks it still actually works.

I use Open Office(OGL FTW!) and type everything in there. From my narrations for WW games, to the ships. I actually write it down with tags, like Cristo said.
