The belt thing is not very big. A very small thing... looks like it could hold a deck of cards comfortably.

Kate does notice Mag's slight slip however, she mistakes what is is about. "Okay, you know that 'Etheral masquerade' thing? I was invited, long story. Stuff got weird. My slight paranoia has been going "This is real! All the horror stories are true!" And seeing the festering slum in riverside did nothing to boost my confidence. I've only ever lived in nice, low-crime cities. It hasn't been a detail unitll now, but I'm looking to get an apartment in that "grey zone," and it's worse than the seediest portions of my old state."

A beat. She obviously has been rather nervous under the calm exterior. It's one of the stages of Nexus coping: "Oh my word this place is dangerous."

She then accepts the ticket awkwardly. "I may look into it, thank you. Never was one for casinos, but if you want me to secure the website, just transfer me and whatever."

"Sure, I'll let you know if we're working on anything like that later. Until then though, I'm afraid I must be going. There's a dire moth infestation in the stock room, see, and the Magbots can't handle it on their own. Tell someone to let the customers know that the moth screeches and laser fire and battle cries are nothing to worry about, would you? Kay thanks, bye!"

And in an instant, Maggy's gone, hefting a large laser rifle over his head, shouting "MagMaaaaaart!" as he races towards the warzone.

Kate says, "Yes, sir." as Magtok beelines toward the back room. She is once again reminded that she is the least dangerous employee in the store.

Chances are? She's the least dangerous customer in the store, too.

She buys the Mugger Slugger and passes on Magtok's message. As she heads home, she thinks more about the little weapon in the bag.

Brr...

She seriously wonders if this was the right choice. She has heard from people that it is possible to survive the Nexus without any kind of weaponry or training... but she has heard a lot more horror stories.

Now, Kate isn't as genre savy as a lot of people. Well, she is (a troper, even), but she has not connected it to her life yet. She does not understand one big difference between where she comes from and around here.

She does not understand that she's a PC.

Into the store shuffles Jupiter, who is currently in the form of hundreds of tiny boxes, arranged into a roughly humanoid shape, like an 8-bit sprite given life. He looks around for any books labelled "Biology", or possibly "How to be Human".

"Shaddup and help me, dammit, they're getting aw- away!" Strahd shouts, diving over the counter to grab at an escaping killer tomato and landing in an undignified heap on the other side.

Jake might notice a large crate of similarly sentient tomatoes tucked under the counter, all of it's occupants huddled up in one corner, shivering with fright. As he watches, two smaller tomatoes leap out of the crate and try to roll away.

Jake grabs them and tosses them back into the crate quickly, a little bit unsure of what to do and why the tomatoes are rolling around on their own.
"Sir, why do you use killer tomatoes and not regular ones?"

Adir flashes a smile. "Cool." He glances at Celina. "Thanks. This'll really help us out."

As Jake does so, one of the tomatoes sprouts fangs and tries to bite his fingers!

"Caushe they tashte better, dur." Strahd snaps, grabbing a knife, pinning the tomato to the floor with one hand and finishing the vegetable-y beast off with a merciless stab.

"Oh it was absolutely no trouble, seeing lovebirds bond is one of the best parts of this job. Now if you don't need anything else, I think I'll go get a late lunch. Thanks for trying it out, I hope the next time you're here it's for something more adventurous." Celena giggles a bit and begins to head out the door. Assuming no one stops her on the way, she'll end up in the doorway of Restauranté Enchanté, and wait for a host/hostess to seat her.
