Ermine looks annoyed that the dwarf is ignoring her! But the mustelid makes no more aggressive moves, uncertain of what exactly to do. Weasel instincts don't have instructions for being ignored, because who would ever ignore a cute and/or ferocious weasel getting up in their face?! The fact that her mind is being muddled by the alcohol isn't helping either.

Speaking of that, she takes another large swig of rum. I'm not sure if a creature her size should really be drinking that much.

Okay cool whatever. Kung-Fu Nuns. You could probably take him to Remnant, there's probably a prison hanging around. Travis tells her.

He drums his fingers on the bar and looks around.
Hey buddy! Aiden will hear him call out to him.
Make sure to make me mysterious and handsome, alright?

Aiden is about to make a snide comment to the completely naked woman, but then Travis calls out to him. He looks at him, and just says, "No idea what you're talking about," while immediately closing his journal.

[Rebonack]

"I... uuhh... I think I had best be going now," Sister Agatha mutters as she grabs the thug by the arm and hauls him off through the door. Bye thug!

Apparently Raven's comment unnerved her a bit.

Because Raven is creepy!

Or so her siblings say.

MENAWHILE!

"What about Bruce?" Amil suggests. "That's a pretty good name. Oh! Or Flint! Flint Deadwood!"

That one sounds really neat!

Wonder where Amil heard a name like that...

The dwarf has stopped waving and turns to Ermine. "We have no money. Could you please help us rectify that difficulty?" I have no idea why he thinks he is more likely to get money out of the pirate he's sitting next to than the nun he's also sitting next to.

Ermine looks at the dwarf like he's crazy.

"No. Git a job 'r some'ting."

The pirate flicks her tail and finishes off her bottle of rum.

"I gots an idea. Ye should pretend ye can see tha future, and then charge people money ta hear yer insane babblin'."

[Rebonack]

Hmm...

Seems the pirate won't cough up any money.

Big surprise there.

Suddenly there comes a strange hacking noise from above the pair! A rather horrible guttural retching sound.

Once.

A few drops of something wet and smokey in color splashes on the table.

Twice.

A single gold coin, damp with the same substance, clatters down.

Thrice.

A half-digest coin-purse hits the table with a disgusting splat, spinning its shimmery cargo everywhere.

Huh.

Seems Raven coughed up some coin for the dwarf.

Quite literally.

Nice cover, very subtle. He adds, with a grin. Maybe next time try at least try and hide the book? He says, before ordering himself another drink.

"Pft, what book?" Aiden says with a roll of his eyes, clearly in jest. If he'd already been outed, there wasn't really a point in hiding it. He hasn't ordered a drink yet, probably because he has no money.

Seriously though, what the hell are you writing? Travis asks, motioning him over with a flick of his head.

"Oh, just some of the crazy things I've been seeing since I came here." Aiden reopens his journal, and takes another few notes. "At this rate, I'll need another book tomorrow."

Well try and not look so freaking suspicious while doing it, yeah? I'm Travis. A hand is extended, and a slight smile offered.

[Devixer]

Aiden laughs a little. "I'll try. No guarantees, though." He shakes Travis's hand, and says, "Name's Aiden. I'm a little new around here."

You're taking it pretty well. Come here on purpose, or just wander in? Travis says. Handshake is firm, eye contact made. He orders Aiden a scotch to compliment his own, before thinking. You drink? He asks.

[Devixer]

"Just wandered in, a few days ago." Aiden waves off the scotch. "Used to, but it's just water and tea nowadays."

Suit yourself. Travis says, setting it on the bar. I'm a native myself. Of course what that means is I'm mostly human with a little bit of everything else thrown in.

"Hey, more for yourself, right?" At the mention of Travis having 'everything else,' Aiden perks up a bit more. "Really? Do you mind me asking you to be a little more specific?"

[billtodamax]

Don't mind you asking, but I can't tell you much. I know I've got a little bit of fey, some elvish, and most recently some dwarven blood. A sip. I have to shave every morning and it still grows back by night time.

[Devixer]

"Interesting..." Aiden writes some more in his notebook. "You'll have to forgive me for writing everything down. I'm a writer, I do that kind of thing."

Yeah, well, get that last part down as rugged, alright? Travis says. Did you make a living writing?

[Devixer]

"I've got it covered, don't worry." Aiden laughs a little at Travis's question. "Man, do I wish. I could barely afford my dingy apartment."

It's certainly not a closed conversation. Aeia at least isn't taking care to speak at all quietly. Of course, she's not the most observant person, so eavesdropping will go unnoticed for now at least.

Also, as a note, she's totally naked. Not even an improvised toga like Bee has. Of course, she's a dryad. That probably explains why she's not at all concerned about it. Still doesn't change the fact that that isn't usually socially acceptable.

Anyway, description refresher links! Aeia and Bee.

"Hmph. Well I'm not whatever an Aeia is, but that doesn't mean I can't be named that." The dryad puts her hand on her hips. "Fine, I'll call you something else. Like... Bark. Or bat. Or Berry. Or bear. Or..." Someone should stop her because she probably has a longer list of B words than her player does.

"Bark. Bark will do. Please do not continue." All this talk was grating on his nerves. B(ark?) simply wished to go back to pleasant thoughts, standing motionless and ignoring all of this prattle.

"I see." Corel replies thoughtfully, not really sure he/she likes to see whoever spoke there. "Perhaps I could aid him? That might make a quest with a proper reward." Whatever a flutter pony dust or smooze was. It sounded... questy at least. "Do you know where he might have gone perhaps? I could take Alfred with me as a squire." That sounds... like a pretty bad idea. "Provided I get his parents permission of course." Yes, of course.

"Fine." Aeia crosses her arms and turns away from Bark a bit. He was a lot nicer when he didn't talk and was a proper tree. Tensions are high. Hopefully this isn't too awkward for poor Amil.

Initially, Alfred's face lights up with delight at the idea of being a squire, a real adventurer, a hero, but once he hear he'll need parents permission, he gets a little pensive. "Fair-mum or Hu-mum?" he asks nervously.

Oh boy tension!

Tension is always all sorts of fun.

Amil shifts in her seat somewhat uncomfortably as she glances between the dryad and the wooden man. Maybe she should nudge the subject away from the whole name buisness and to something else?

Certainly worth a shot.

"So... eerr... Aeia was it? How is it that you're walking around here? Doesn't a dryad need to stay near her tree?"

MEANWHILE!

Sadei wrinkles her nose a bit at that. "I don't know what any of those things Raven mentioned are..."

She casts her attention Divaonar's way to which the boy only shrugs. Seems neither of them have any idea what Raven is talking about. Aside from the obvious conclusion that Ibby is collecting material components. Which is something he does pretty often.

Very important if one feels inclined to do magic-y stuff.

"Maybe you should ask Raven?"

But will Raven feel like talking?

That remains to be seen.

Bark was much happier when he was a proper tree. Those two things are definitely inter-related.

Still, he isn't being addressed now, so time to go back to his happy place for a bit.

"He's right there." Aeia nods at Bark without actually looking at him. "The stupid wizard chopped him down and made him like that." Begs the question how she's still alive.

[Devixer]

You're a real writer then. He says, grinning. You got any work here yet? You could probably work here.

"Nah, I've just been trying to figure out this place. Work can come a little later." Aiden shrugs as he says this. Work would be nice, though.

[Rebonack]

Amil blinks.

"Wait... really?" this sounds like crazy talk to her! "I thought cutting a tree down killed its dryad right away?"

Not that there are any dryads where she's from.

But she's been in the Nexus long enough now to get a decent feel for how quite a few odd things work. This is, apparently, one of them.

"Huh... That must have been pretty shocking for both of you. Do you know where the wizard is now? Maybe he can be convinced to make Bark a tree again?"

With violence!
