[Beans]

Reinholdt may be in Preil's blindspot, so she doesn't notice the staaaares.
She blinks at Fyre.
Oh, uh.
Okay.
Cool things are nice.
Getting tackled again would be not so cool though...

[Mindfreak]

"Yeah..."
She looked at Reinholdt and frowned.
"I don't like how that cat thing is looking at us."

[Chas the mage]

Interesting. The Warforged had heard of rebellions being able to topple empires, but in its nation's six-hundred year history, such an event had never actually happened. Most threats were external rather than internal.

"What did this man do with the empire once he had taken over? And how did you escape?"

"Well," he replies, pausing to take a drag of his cigarette, "The battles really weren't what ended the empire." He stalls more, drumming his fingers upon the bar in thought. "there was a battle of epic proportions right outside the capital city, which included the majority of our armies and the most of the communist's reverent supporters. Most everyone in that battle is dead, or they were injured or MIA. The empire 'won,' but its armies were massively weakened, and its resources were beginning to dwindle after the gigantic battle, and the capital city was partially destroyed. I was a crippled war veteran, put upon copious amounts of painkilling drugs and put through experimental procedures - I'd lost pieces of all my limbs, and I'd been shot a few times, only to be dragged off the battlefield. I was living off a pension and imperial military benefits due to my rank and prestige at the time, but since their resources were deplete and forces were destroyed, people lost respect for them. I was seen as a monster for fighting and dedicating my life for the Empire, and it eventually fell due to civil unrest in the common people, allowing the communist leader to gain power." he sighs, breathing, drinking.

[Beans]

"Yeah..."
She looked at Reinholdt and frowned.
"I don't like how that cat thing is looking at us."

Preil looks around in alarm. Cat? W-where?!
She finally sees Reinholdt and frowns.
Bad kitty. No.

[Reinholdt]

"Just curious." Reinholdt says, switching from staring back to scowling, before slowly lowering his head so it can't be seen over the bucket rim. Give them an illusion of privacy in a populated tavern.

[Mindfreak]

Fyre continues to frown.
And then tries to pat right next to her friend's hand in a soothing way.
"It's just an ugly cat. It's not going to do anything."

[Beans]

Yeah, I guess...
She turns back to her friend, making sure not to brush her hand accidentally.
So, uh, anywhere you wanna go after this?

[Mindfreak]

"I dunno...you wanna go check out that GLoG place? Or maybe that Mallside place?"
She shrugged. She didn't really know.

[Beans]

GLoG sounds nice.
Preil toys with a stray lump of salt nervously, glancing from her friend to the other patrons to random parts of the bar and back, more nervous because of how conscious she is of her blind spot.

[Mindfreak]

She pats soothingly beside her friend's hand again.
"Stop looking so nervous. I got your blind side covered, don't worry."
She gets up and waits for her friend to do the same so they can go off to GLoG.

[Beans]

Preil gets up and pays for les foods du noms (I can totally talk Franch) and heads for the door!

[Mindfreak]

Fyre smiles and follows!

[Morty]

After some time, Dipsnig decides it's time to pack up and leave. When he gets off his seat, Viima wags her tail to tell Thecla she can come along. Dipsnig is amused and doesn't seem to mind.

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt's head slowly rises up to peer back over the lip of the bucket, though his eyes are downcast. He wasn't trying to be a jerk and hoping to kind of meet new people, but he guesses he was.

Well... nothing for the mermeow to do now but to wait until his affliction wears off before leaving.

[Devixer]

Ashley looks over at the mermeow in the bucket from her seat at the bar, and is a little perplexed by the sight. She'd heard of catfish before, but something told her that this wasn't that.

[Reinholdt]

Clearly she hasn't been drinking enough. Or has been drinking too much.

Which reminds Reinholdt, he might as well get a bottle of rum while he's at it. And does so.
Giving an embarrassed head nod at Ashley in the process.

[Devixer]

Ashley waves her fingers a little. "Hey, can you talk? Normally I wouldn't bother asking, but you look like you weren't originally like that."

[Reinholdt]

"Well I just ordered booze, so I suppose I can. What do you think I originally looked like? A handsome prince of a far off land, cursed to such a fate?" Reinholdt asks, peering at Ashley and wondering where she draws her conclusions from.

Probably the fish tail.

[Devixer]

Ashley rolls her eyes a little. "I didn't really guess what you looked like before, just that you were changed or something. Cats don't normally have fish tails, you know." She takes a pull from her beer. "Is it magical? Maybe I can help."

[Reinholdt]

"See, now, you would have totally been correct with the cursed prince answer." Reinholdt says, shaking his head.

"It's technological, and temporary. Did you miss the Magtok merriment moments ago?" Probably about half-hour to an hour back now at this point.

[Devixer]

"Yeah, must've missed it. Not really sure why, could've sworn I was here for a bit." Deadtime will do that to someone. "You have any idea how long it's going to last?"

[Reinholdt]

"Probably another hour or so." In other words, until he leaves the tavern to go do stuff.

"So who are you?"

[Devixer]

"Name's Ashley. No one all that important." Ashley shrugs as she says that. "You?"

[Reinholdt]

"Reinholdt, Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire." Reinholdt gives his flourish. A bit more difficult than usual, but he still has the paws needed to do it.

[Devixer]

Ashley can't help but snicker at Reinholdt's flourish. "Sorry, that just looked kinda silly." She turns on her seat so that she's facing Reinholdt. "Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire, huh? You wouldn't happen to be with that relic-hunting organization I've heard of? Just curious."

[Reinholdt]

Reinholdt frowns a little.
"I was. Or am. I'm not really sure. Curator is rather... meticulously slow about things compared to my usual fare."

[Devixer]

"More of time being weird around here, I suppose," Ashley says before downing the rest of her wine.

[Reinholdt]

"More like I just don't know if they're still in business." Reinholdt says with a shrug.

[Devixer]

"Well, that would pose a problem too." Ashley says, then sighs a few seconds later as she glances at the door.

[Reinholdt]

"Waiting for a no show?" Reinholdt asks.
