I saw that yesterday and forgot to post it up here, actually. As an Eagle Scout: IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME BSA!!!!!! I am proud to be an E.S., but the way that the BSA was handling this situation made me SO PISSED OFF I didn't know what to do with myself. An organization I, literally, grew up in (I was a scout from 1st grade (6) until my senior year (18)) was forcing me to choose between being loyal to them and loyal to my principals (is that the right version of that word? I Can never remember). But if there is one thing I learned in scouts, it is to be true to yourself and stand up for what you believe in....which I did, and I have been, somewhat, outspoken about how wrong the BSA has been for so many years. Signing as many petitions as I could, spreading them on Facebook, and trying to get the word to the BSA that, "Hey, people are people, so shut yer traps and deal with it!"

I am very happy to see that everyone's efforts in getting this message to them is finally paying off!!!

I am very happy as well. I think I might have mentioned before how happy I was that my orientation was not questioned at my Eagle Board of Review. Or maybe that was my religious beliefs. I don't remember

I may not have earned my Eagle, but I am glad that the leadership is finally taking this step, though it won't do anything about the views of the boys and leaders already there.

And if my old troop is anything to go by, it will take a long time, a lot of education, and more than a little patience to make any headway.

But its a start.
