OK! Do you mind if I make crops "Poor" and meat "Good"? Quill are hunters, not farmers. It seems to me they would be more likely to have a more thriving market in meat that must be hunted for than fruits, nuts and vegetables anyone could just pick from the ground or the vast variety of plants in the jungle.

Alrighty then, presuming there isn't some spontaneous change in the world around me, those should be my actions for this round. Need to come up with a cool name for the Alliance, probably either:

    1. The Mountain Blade treaty

    Or

    2. The Ratatouille agreement

    On a completely different note,

can we name the two main bodies of water? My thoughts:

The Great Deeps or The Blue Sea: ocean to the far east.

The Sea of The Golden Sun or The Yellow sea: the one in the middle.

I wonder how Pryonia will react to the goings on in Tekorva (I think renaming it with the Faith5 because that's very likely to be far away should be alright).

I mean, it's all quiet right now, but soon you will have a 'fully fledged heresy' in your neighbour. I should probably prepare for being warred against down the line.

Actually, my world is fairly generic right now (and the original post is awkwardly put together) because I don't want to have everything I want at the start. No, I want to build an empire! I want to develop my intentionally not that awesome (to me) people into something I think is really cool and the best part about it is the fact I get to do that with other people affecting the history of this land.

At the same time though, I don't mind getting slaughtered as much as some other people might but I would still pine the loss of region 17. (Quietly of course. I would not want to dampen the victor's positive emotion)

I am biased, but I do not like the second option. The first one sounds suitably cool though. It also sounds like 'Mount and Blade' the game. (Ah it's a fun game which I am terrible at.)

I'm not sure why one couldn't do that, but for example while your people might call it by that name, my people would definitely call it something else.

The second choice was a joke based on a Pixar movie

Though good catch! Didn't think it'd be picked up so quickly. I've played a lot of Mount and Blade, War of the Roses, and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare these past couple of months. Fun on a bun. Nothing quite like doing a drive by smashing someone over with a Lance to the face, or chopping up crossbowmen with my battle axe.

    Oh I saw that!

Ouch, I see where the axe to my face came from now... Though I like the bow better. It doesn't make sense, I know, but I do.

I will edit the Mountain Blade name into my stuff shortly. I'm also thinking about what sort of way is most likely for Sympol to catch Tekorva's eye or vice versa...

Ooh, someone else who plays M&B! Yay!

For hopefully the final time, I will edit my action. I can't exactly support the Tekorvite defence when they're going through a blasted trade alliance . Seriously, I'm happy you've resolved this peacefully.

As far as I'm concerned, the Razdissi word for sea translates as "place where mining is inadvisable."

Nah, more like "Below [the mountains of] Dis". Raz means below. "Place where mining is advisable" is the Razdissi word for all land.

That would be two people if you count the terrible archer.

Yeah, we're not defending anything currently... I'm unsure how everything happened so 'peacefully' but you know, the trade alliance involves military defense. And he has a potential 13 units!

    That's funny. I like it.

For the record, I also play Mount and Blade. My current main character is dressed like a Swadian but armed like a Khergit.

So on a completely different note, um, Lord of Nyroth? You might want to consider finding some buddies with a military. Or sending out assassins. Or, anything other than sitting alone and hoping your militia saves you, really.

I have personal designs. Let's just say that I feel uncomfortable around QuintonBeck and need to "relocate".

So, please do attack. I'm counting on it.

Also, I really don't know why I keep switching attitudes with my posts. I'm kind of smacking myself in the face.

Indeed. Ashenite's typically refer to the sea far to the East as "The Great Sea" and the sea in the middle as the "Sea of Crima".
The sea south of Genivana and Hrathan and Tuor is typically referred to as the "Sea of Tuor", the sea west of Woodwind and Aloren as the "Sea of Aloren" and the sea between the Jewelled Cities and region twenty-six as "The Walled Sea" and beyond region twenty-six where none have explored, "The Outer Sea".

Note, that these names refer to very old regional designations that date the back to Ashenia's mythic ancient history which I may elaborate on in future. It's a long tale based on oral traditions passed down by the roaming clans today's Ashenites are descended from and fragmentary texts kept in ancient monasteries.

You people and your lexicons... Places are complicated and can be used for many many things! Except the Sea. That's only good for travelling across and fishing. Or so we here from our more maritime friends.
And the tundra. That's only good for travelling across and hunting.
And active volcanoes. They're not good for anything. (At least until we invent the camera!)
Oh, and quicksand. What perverse thought crossed the Spirits' minds when they came up with that?

Alright folks, so I'm doing some fiddling to the Alliances Post - here!

Below the table, I have all the alliances from the Previous Rounds listed. Try and detail exactly what your treaties do in your actions, especially things like trade. Each nation involved will have to either link a reference or post it in their action so that it counts.

If you folks take a look, there's some holes to fill in. Any help, please? I've also added QuintenBeck's map to it, with his permission. I'll be updating it as he does.

There is no Eyecradia Woodwind treaty, it's just a trade agreement of Woodwind timber for Eyrecradia minerals.

The treaty of Wind and Stone is a mutual defense and united military agreement as well as a trade agreement of Woodwind boar meat for Kasumorian insects.

Once the details on the other treaties are fleshed out and I can see which ones are military alliances I'll update the map.

The Calorum/Genivana/Hrathan-Tuor Treaty is a treaty of open borders and mutual military defense.

At that point we didn't think we could have trades be the same action as forming the treaty so no.

On a different note, I've started a thread for the Radurjic Codex over here. I'm working on writing up excerpts from it. Right now Silverbit is the only one who's told me that he would like to be a Seeker, but anyone else who is interested please message me.

Seekers are all over the known world studying people, cultures, natural events, and so on. If you'd like to take the role of a seeker studying your nation this is a good excuse to write some fluff

I have a character in mind, a black sheep distant cousin of the royal family that claims to be a Witness. (That is, if you are still using both titles for differing levels of the faith.)

Yeah, this is an odd thing to say. It's also a bit meta-y for my taste. *shrug*

Piggying on this, the Sympol have a similar terminology system, though it's not focussed on mining so much as something a bit more important and close to heart.

Sea: Place where Sympol drown to death
Land in general: Place where Sympol get stabbed to death
Desert: Place where Sympol starve to death

Forest: Place where Sympol get eaten by monsters
Tundra: Place where Sympol freeze to death
Volcano: Place where Sympol melt to death
    Mountain: Safe.
Since everyone is doing lexicons, I present:

In GRAND gilt text, embossed on the finest of imported leather, and covering the most delicate pages, sits the Guilder Codexicon, a big book with a lot of words that the faculty of the Technical Institute for Brilliant Minds is calling a "dictionary." Here we find some of the most brilliant entries:

Sea: Something to use to get money.
Desert: Something to use to get money.
Swamp: Something to use to get money.
Forest: Something to use to get money.
Tundra: Something to use to get money.

Are they obsessed? Yes. Single-minded and greedy? Yes. Are they good at their jobs? You better effing believe it, son. Now how about trading me that open jaw for some lumber?
