    Merek strikes out and connects with the first wolf with a fist, dealing 6 damage. The wolf snarls and attempts to strike back, but just misses. Flynn shoots the same wolf for 3 damage, while maintaining his chant. Lucas makes a daring attempt to move past the wolves, but is stopped at the doorway. Lee takes his time in the hallway, waiting for the right shot. The moment arrives, and he puts a heavy arrow into the first wolf, just below the jaw for 10 damage. It falls to the ground, still. The last wolf whimpers and dashes back into the room, gone from sight through another doorway almost instantly.

    The room beyond this doorway, which appeared to be guarded by the two wolves, is dark, and difficult to see. Just a few beams of sunlight pierce the mostly solid wooden roof above. You can see enough to move without major difficulty, but cannot see into the darkness beyond the doorway in the western wall.

    This small study looks like it is lived in. Gnawed bones litter the floor and tufts of gray fur are apparent, here and there. An old stone desk, sitting in the center of the chamber, appears to have been used as a scratching post for some time. The stench of wet fur hangs heavy on the air.

    Flynn looks at the downed animal sadly. "I hate to see animals hurting, even if we have had some bad times with wolves of late. No one is carrying raw meat or anything to attract them, are they?" he asks, trying to elicit a smile from the party members. Pilip scratches his leg, and Flynn reaches down to pet the little fox affectionately. "As loud as that one howled, we are unlikely to completely surprise anything else here. We should continue to be careful..."

    Nothing you notice seems threatening, at this point. The evidence of wolves in this room is somewhat overwhelming, though. It strikes you as unlikely that those two were the only ones.

    Lucas grimaces as he pushes the feather-stuck corpse away with his boot. "To them we're all just raw meat..." Frowning into the dank study, Lucas turns to the other door. "I don't think that one will be back for some time... what do you say we see what's in here?" Gesturing to the second door, he makes to close the one they just opened and wait for the others' approval before opening the eastern door.

    Pulling the previous door closed firmly behind him, Lucas cracks the door to the right to peer into the room for a moment. Seeing nothing threatening, he carefully opens it further and creeps into the room.

    Old cobweb-covered racks and armor stands dominate most of this small chamber. What must once have been a well-tended armory is now devoid of its more apparent furnishings.

    As Lee lifts the arrows, their bright red fletching, with highlights of orange and yellow become visible. No birds native to the area carry such brilliant plumage, leading you to believe that they are probably worth more than they appear to be.

    After a brief search, Lee notices what appears to be a catch to a hidden door in the back corner of the room.

    "Whoah..." Lucas whistles appreciatively as Lee points out the hidden door. "That's pretty sneaky. Is it locked? Flynn, think you can get it open?" Walking over to the door, Lucas braces himself for whatever lies beyond while waiting for his friend to assess the mechanism.

    Flynn moves up to the front silently, putting away his bow and pulling out some tools. Looking around at Lee and Lucas he says, "Watch my back, please, Lucas. And Lee, don't get any ideas about confiscating my tools - this time I am doing it for a legal cause..." and begins to investigate the door and disarm any traps he finds.

    If Flynn doesn't find a trap on his initial check, I would like to have him Take 20 if allowed for a 27 Perception. If he is able to disable any traps without springing them (unlikely), then taking 20 on a Disable Device check nets him a 26.

    If I find a trap and am unable to disable it with my armor on, I can remove the leather armor for an additional +1 to my Disable Device skill check. Flynn would be loath to do so unless absolutely necessary, though.

    Flynn approaches the indicated area, and quickly notices the same seam and latch mechanism Lee previously mentioned. After a brief inspection, he does not find any traps or anything out of the ordinary (other than the secret door itself).

    He cautiously eases the door open. Despite the years of disuse, the small door swings open almost silently, to reveal a short corridor with a wall of bars running down its right side. Four rusted doors lead to identical cramped cells beyond the bars.

    Each of the cells contains two skeletons, left where they were to die dozens of years ago, in various placements. A few look to have been trying to reach beyond their cells, while some sit peacefully on what remains of their thin straw bedding.

    the skeletons are clearly dwarven; their squat, wide frames are apparent to anyone who knows what to look for.

Having four cells with a pair of prisoners each, hidden behind a secret door, in a secluded community? That is more than enough criminals for a small town.     Will use a full rounds action if necessary to grab and pull Lucas back. For a reference, the "drag" combat maneuver can be found here. Assuming Ian doesn't want Lucas to resist and the other PCs make room, I should at least be able to pull him back 5-feet, though I would prefer at least 10-feet. My CMB is -1 (low strength), so if he resists I probably won't succeed, but if we use an unopposed roll as a natural "20" it is high enough to beat his CMD by at least enough to warrant a 10-foot drag.
