The "On A Saner Forum, We Wouldn't Need This Index" title isn't funny. I'm going for The Plantain Menace or, if that's not a contender, Writes Back.

    The Plantain Menace?
Maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker, but the joke was hard to get and required some research.
Also, why a joke about episode 1 since it would be the fifth thread?

Plantains are cousins of bananas. It would have been a pretty clever pun for the 1st thread, if our resident banana had been curating it then.

Also, I propose we don't have an 8th thread, instead we have thread 7, part 2.

    I'm going to say:

    1) That the thread needs a vote on whether "the thread documents things Rich says that dispel someone's confusion and makes no judgment on whether that confusion was legitimate" or "the thread documents only things that cannot be derived from the comic" becomes a new thread rule, and one of them should be.

    2) In the absence of such a rule, I'm voting to include the Twitter comments under debate. Sorry, Grey Wolf et al.

I don't think either of those rules would work. The former would have us putting in quotes about things that are unambiguous in the comic that the questioner overlooked or forgot. Like, if the Giant answers a question about what happened to the Eye of Fear and Flame. The latter makes sense, but would result in arguments about whether or not something is derivable from the comic, which that argument was largely about. Although I suppose it would help if someone wanted to include the hypothetical answer about the Eye just because the Giant said it.

OK, OK, we can make this work.

The Reformed Index of the Giant's Comments I - The Plantain Menace

The old index would ignore everything else and call itself the Orthodox Index of the Giant's Comments.
