King’s Castle Headquarters, Market District, Windfall City

Today’s the day. After a long journey, lots of deliberation, and no small amount of hardship, you’ve made it to the King’s Castle Adventuring Company headquarters in Windfall city. Some of you have never been to a sky city and some of you have spent most of your lives here, but this is the first time any of you have ever been inside this building.

As you step over the threshold, you take in the madness that is Savlus’ premier Adventurer’s Guild. The first floor is packed with tables and what looks like an open bar. Even though it's now getting close to dusk, spells are flying through the air, two ellis are being chased out of the building by an annoyed looking Orc-Kin, and you think you just saw a samurai toss someone out a window.

You make your way across the room, only to be stopped and greeted by a girl with pink hair. She looks like she's in her late 20's, is wearing a white shirt and is about 5'4". She seems to have boundless energy and is bouncing uncontrollably, flagging you all down. She pulls out a clipboard and shouts excitedly! "You got your letters! Yay!" Squealing, she attempts to give Zeathe an over zealous hug, only to be knocked over by a Uhrman who wasn't paying attention. She stands up and straightens out her clothes. "Right. Business!" She is clearly forcing herself to stop bouncing, causing her to wiggle slightly. "I'm Berri, I'll be your escort today!" She puts her hand out expectantly. "Letters, people!"

Kiloren, King's Castle Headquarters

Blinking in a slightly bemused manner, Kiloren pulls out his letter and hands it to the pink haired girl. "Here you go..."

He was still trying to process the guild hall. Everything was go loud, and there were a lot of strange people. Nothing he hadn't seen before back in Stormguard, but still, trying to take in all his new surroundings at once was... A little overwhelming.

Abby Stormbringer. King’s Castle Headquarters, Market District, Windfall City

In the name of the Iron Wind, I'm here to serve his highness. Abby replies curtsying as she presents her letter to the bouncing lady.

Where will our journey take us today, Miss.Berri. Abby asks kissing her hand in uncertainy as the proper greeting.

Doran, King's Castle Headquarters

Uhh, h-here is mine. He nervously hands his invitation to the pink haired girl, flinching away from the rowdy crowd around him.

Is it always so loud in here? I don't know if I'm comfortable around this many people...

"Hey." Zeathe says, keeping his gaze unfocused, not really paying attention. He pulls out his invitation and hands it over. "You seem fairly excitable. Is that part of being an 'escort?'"

Berri (Human, Female)
King's Castle Headquarters, Windfall City

With every invitation she is handed, it seems like her bouncing intensifies. "Eeeee. It's not an escort's job to be exited for each new recruit! I just am!" She pulls out her clipboard. "We're just missing a letter for Furude!" She smiles and stares at Furude with great intensity. When Abby kisses her hand, she smiles but remarks "You don't have to be so formal! We're all adventuring members here! 'The king' is very clear about that!"

[Illven]

Then shall I just call you Betti? Abby inquires.

Turning from her to address the group scanning it for another person. Furude. Present your letter.

Furude Setsuna

Blinking and finally looking up at Betti, Setsuna blushes slightly and hands over her letter. "Ah, right! Here you go~"

She giggles slightly at their escort's antics and flicks another glance over at Zeathe. He certainly looked familiar, but she couldn't be sure it was him. At least not until she saw more.

I hope you keep your head on your shoulders in the thick of battle. She mutters towards Setsuna.

Kiloren, King's Castle Headquarters

"She's certainly excited..." Kiloren mutters under his breath as he watches Berri getting bouncier and bouncier with each invitation she collects. Tearing his gaze away, he gives each of his new teammates a quick once-over. Strangely, they all seem to be human... There was a young woman who seems to be either polite or short-tempered, depending on who she dealt with, a nervous-looking boy who looked nearly as thin and fragile as a toothpick, a young man who seems slightly out of it, and a girl who seemed way too young to be here...

Which means, Kiloren thought, I would bet she's the most dangerous one of us... I better keep an eye on her.

Zeathe

Underneath the tinted lenses of his shades, Zeathe glances at Setsuna. His arm glides to his left bicep where, concealed by a sleeve, a ribbon is tied. "I don't think any of us would be here if we couldn't handle ourselves in combat." He says cooly.

Berri (Human, Female)

Berri takes the final letter and grins. "You could call me Betti, but my name is Berri. With two r's!" She flips to the next page and mutters some things under her breath! "Now! Ahem. If there are any questions, you should ask them now! Otherwise, we will start the standard introductions!"

My deepest apologies, Berri. Abby replied curtsying and blushing in shame.

Shall I introduce myself first, then?

Doran

Excuse me, but could we do this somewhere that's not so crowded? I don't do well with large crowds.. He glances around nervously at the room, wringing his hands.

Furude Setsuna

"Hmph..." Setsuna grumbles and rolls her eyes at Abby, sneaking other glance at Zeathe. She turns around to Berri with a shrug. "I've got no questions... but it looks like we should probably find a room to ourselves." She looks over to Doran with a small smile.

[Draconium]

Kiloren, King's Castle Headquarters

"I agree with them." Kiloren's voice was just barely lound enought for the others to understand. "Being in a more... private area for this would probably be best."

Zeathe

Zeathe turns to look at Berri, "Well it looks like we are in accord. Would you mind leading the way? I mean I would but I've never been here before. But like damn, with all these buildings and stuff I bet it wouldn't be that hard to find some cove to squirrel away in. Maybe bring some nuts, ya know, for winter. Never can be too prepared when winter is coming."

Berri (Human, Female)
King's Castle Headquarters, Windfall City

Berri nods and walks her team out the front door, clearly not understanding "private" or "less crowded". "We'll go get your gear and chat!" Berri leads you through the streets of Windfall, on what seems like a fairly inefficient route. You pass through a market district, where lupine traders are selling exotic looking fruits and wares. After about 45 minutes of walking, she stops in front of a large building marked "Salvus Trading Company". "Alright, team! This is the Salvus Trading Company, or STC for short." She waves her hands in a showy fashion. "This places has like... everything."

She motions towards the door. "Okay team, go inside and use your tokens to redee- oh! I forgot to give you your tokens!" She rummages around in her pack, pulling five round wooden tokens from it. "Every time you reach a new rank in the guild, you get a token! You can redeem them inside from Boss, he's a dwarf." She smiles and passes out the tokens. "You're all recruits now, so you get to redeem your 'King's Kit'." She pushes open the door for you. "Now go go go!" She smiles and giggles.


Boss
Salvus Trading Company, Market District, Windfall City

Inside, you see a large shop floor decorated in fine rugs and what look like powerful magic items lining the walls. Among many things, you notice a black and red gauntlet marked with a sign that says "DO NOT TOUCH. IMMINENT IMPLOSION." Before you get too far into the shop, a dwarf pops up from behind the counter and shouts in a cheerful tone. "Hey kids! What can I do you for?"

[Draconium]

Kiloren, Salvus Trading Company

Gripping the wooden token in his hand and attempting to ignore his itching curiosity about whether or not the gauntlet would actually explode, Kiloren turns to the dwarf. "I guess we're here to redeem our adventuring kits? Also, could you please not shout?"

[Illven]

Abby Stormbringer, Salvus Trading Company, Market District, Windfall City

Aye, we're here to redeem our, Berri put it. A king's kit. Abby replied shaking the dwarf's hand with a firm grasp.

I'm Abby Stormbringer, Cleric of the Iron Wind She said bowing slightly.

Boss (Dwarf, Male)
Salvus Trading Company, Market District, Windfall City

The dwarf blinks at Kiloren, it'd never occurred to him that shouting might bother people. He shakes hands with Abby. "Very good to meet you! I'm sure we'll do plenty of business in the future." He collects all of your tokens and passes out your kits. "These will prove invaluable to you on your missions. Be sure to read all the instructions, though. Don't want you winding up in the cleric's quarters due to poor constitution." He laughs heartily.

[Illven]

Abby Stormbringer, Salvus Trading Company, Market District, Windfall City

Abby starts doing what's instructed, reading through the manual to determine the right way to use them.

Any innuendo passing over her head. I don't know. I think as a field medic, I don't really have a quarters.

Doran

Uh, ex-excuse me, Mr. Boss, sir... Is it really safe to have something out that might explode? He takes his kit and seems to try and hide behind it. That doesn't seem safe and I don't know if It's safe.

He keeps as far away from the gauntlet as possible, almost shrinking in on himself trying to be as small a target as he can.

Zeathe

"Hey how much will you guys give me if I touch it?" Zeathe says walking right up to the gauntlet. He turns around and shrugs. "I mean how dangerous can it be? It's just here."

[Illven]

Abby Stormbringer, Salvus Trading Company, Market District, Windfall City

Nothing. You should obey the rules. Especially when they are entirely reasonable. Abby calls out.

[Sjlver]

Zeathe

"Ya know you shouldn't take life so seriously. It's not like we're ever gonna make it out alive." Zeathe says with a smirk. "But fine. Nothing it is."

Zeathe walks over, retrieves his kit, and slings it over his shoulder.

[Morcleon]

Furude Setsuna

Taking the token from Berri with a bemused smile, Setsuna waves goodbye to her and follows the rest of her team into the shop. She immediately hands over her token and grabs her kit, raising an eyebrow at the dwarf's warning. "...what would be in here that would do that?"

She frowns at Zeathe and sighs. "Please at least wait until everyone is outside of the room until you blow yourself up, okay?"

Boss (Dwarf, Male)
Salvus Trading Company, Market District, Windfall City

The dwarf looks entirely amused by your questions and antics. "Don't worry, you won't explode. You'll implode!" He bursts out laughing. "But I wouldn't worry. That warning is for wiseacre wizards and snarky sorcerers who think they're hotshots and can bypass our 'security system'." He tosses a piece of copper at the gauntlet, only for it to be sent flying in the other direction when it gets too close. "Magical contraptions or something like that..."

He shrugs and pulls out Furude's manual, pointing to the section on the lesser ring of sustenance. "Wear that puppy longer than intended and you'll be a sorry Sally." Boss pats Furude on the head affectionately and, like a cheap street magician, he pulls a lollipop from behind her ear and gives it to her. "Unless you folks have any questions about our wares, how we work, what we sell, or the like, you'd best be going! I'd reckon you haven't even gotten a quest yet!" The dwarf smiles at you lovingly, like you're all his grandchildren.

Flashing a smile at Setsuna for her support, she then turns to the dwarf.

It was a pleasure to meet you, Sir.Dwarf. Abby replies curtsying, as she gets ready to leave.

Oh, that's not so bad then. He smiles a bit and relaxes a little as he slings his pack onto his back. So is it time to go? I wouldn't want to be a bother to Mr. Boss...
