Re: Thufir's Third Random Banter #224
I'd argue to and too are close enough in meaning to make the mistake a lot. My point stands that those above are completely differently in many respects.
Valid but I love both holidays.
All I can really say with regards to this is that yeah, sometimes people with relationship's are obnoxious. But don't try to bring them down because you're feeling bad, that accomplishes nothing.
I'm not sure what you mean by that last bit though. People shouldn't be denying you a job because you don't have kids, that's weird.
Oh I know some degree of French. Not enough to hold a conversation but enough to know I'm not smart enough to learn another language. Unless you're in New Brunswick or Quebec the language barrier will never hurt you anyway.
Canadian Bacon did not actually lie to you, it's actually really accurate to a lot of stuff.
Terrible but at least the masks we get to wear in our hellish dystopia are cool. Don't settle for "this is the new normal" though, you can always fight in your own way.

Re: Thufir's Third Random Banter #224
Yeah, I get you, it's just extra annoying when they know you have a ton of insecurities about this very thing. It feels a lot like 'oh, that romance thing you want, let me use the fact I have it to push you back down to misery'.
And not a job, stable time off. I just essentially don't have the ability to develop meaningful relationships now.

Re: Thufir's Third Random Banter #224
Spoiler alert: Grammarly is going to miss things. Like the subject-verb agreement I just mentioned. You had two subjects (spelling and grammar) but a singular verb (isn't). You'd need a plural verb for the grammar to be strictly correct (ie "aren't").
Language is a living construct. Unless you are using Grammarly for to make your writing more appropriate for school or work settings, I would recommend not worrying about it, since prescriptivism (that means sticking to what you were taught, and there is only one correct way to use your language) is only really a useful approach in formal settings. So long as you can effectively communicate what you are trying to convey, you are using the language correctly, regardless of whether it follows the strict "rules" that you learned in school.Cuthalion's art is the prettiest art of all the art. Re: Thufir's Third Random Banter #224
This. The mistakes I've made tonight come from me having given up on getting my version of Firefox to spellcheck over a year ago. My grammar is generally perfectly fine for written chatting for something such as this, and for more formal works that's what proof reading is for (although I tend to write formally).
Language changes from day to day and from group to group, the way I pronounce the word 'history' varies bared on whether or not I'm at work and sometimes I'm intentionally misspelling words or getting grammar wrong.
Off coarse, iif im righting ay peace four publication oar other moar formerl porpoises ill general Lee make shure it includes as phew miss takes as posse bill. That was not pleasant to write.
To be fair it's been a while since I've seen a post with such a large quantity of humours.

Re: Thufir's Third Random Banter #224
I feel like I'd end up with a "adorable werewolf trying to howl" vibe from that, though.
ION, I just bought the most ridiculous new comb. I wanted a folding travel comb that would fit in my purse so I could part my hair and re-do my braids while I'm out places. Winco didn't have one of those, but they did have a ConairMan Survival Comb. It's wallet-sized, made of metal, and includes a bottle opener, a set of wrench cut-outs, and an extremely abbreviated ruler. I'm not sure that "bottle opener" and "wrench" are really my top priorities for survival tools, but I guess I have had that weekend before. It should fit nicely in my purse, and presumably will hold up well without breaking off teeth since it's metal.

Over the weekend I learned that I can't bowl since I've had hand surgery. About two years ago, I got a metal plate in one of my metacarpals. As it happens, bowling really hurts now.

I was to be born from the Outlands in another plane until my family moved to Planet Earth.
