Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
My siblings are getting everything from Illuminati to a French Press.
She knows and this is apparently something she has to deal with a lot. It's likely that if I find somebody new to crush on she'll actively help with the moving on part anyway.

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
I'm going to tell you a Christmas story about the time I almost ruined the Craft Fair at my old childhood school.
So anyway so many years ago at my childhood school. I was a teenager and every year there was an event known as the Craft Fair where students made something in art. There was Santa Claus in the Craft Fair. I actually outgrew Santa and I thought of a joke to tell the little kids that Santa isn't real. So I was going to open my big mouth but my teachers stop me and say "Don't!" So I didn't say it because it will definitely ruin their childhood and I would get in serious trouble. Realized that joke was very bad and damaging. So I didn't say anything and enjoy the Craft Fair. That's my Christmas story.

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
So here's a media question that's topical for the time but not deep enough for its own thread--
At what point did the definitive version of The Grinch become the one with Jim Carrey?
Just for giggles, here's another--
Who decided that Elf was a holiday classic?

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
It didn't. The definitive grinch adaptation is Boris Karloff. People who think otherwise are mainly those who grew up with Carrey and haven't seen Karloff, which would have begun when the Jimch came out in 2001-ish.
Who decided that Elf was a holiday classic?
'Elle no. That's what passes for humour when you've had six mince pies.

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
Nah...the Boris Karloff version is the definitive one. To be fair, though...Carrey did very well at bringing the green guy to life, but that's just because he's REALLY good at mimicking the facial expressions. That, and I still giggle at the "I'M SPEAKING IN RHY-HA-HIME!!!" line.
Just for giggles, here's another--

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
Don't feel bad about that, it's a me thing. I just really, really hate every Will Ferrell movie that boils down to "Will Ferrell plays an idiot who is also an X." Whether that X is racecar driver, Santa's helper, basketball player, news anchor, whatever, it's the same **** I hated when I saw the first one and just dressed up in a different costume.
Stranger than Fiction? Awesome, Ferrell was hilarious. Step Brothers? I wanted a refund just for seeing the dang trailer.
Agreed!
Well, maybe. There is also First Blood and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang....
....yes, that was an accurate vignette.Cuthalion's art is the prettiest art of all the art. Like my avatar.

When Will Farrel has a scripte that is good he's one of the best actors you could possibly have since he always devotes 110% of himself to his work. Regardless of how good or ****ty it is.

Crazy idea. Maybe nobody is commenting in the thread because there's no interest, and dragging the topic into an unrelated thread is just going to annoy people there?

Re: Mystic Muse's Magnificent Masquerade Random Banter #225
Normally I save my gift haul until I have everything but my Aunt gave me a gift I have to mention now.
when I was first born a family member bought me a Hush Puppy puppet that'd grow up with me. It's old and faded, lost his ears, eyebrows, and tongue. The colours all save red have faded from his shirt. His fur is dark with age. I loved him and still have him after all this time.
My aunt bought me a new one. Because I'm transitioning and as such am being reborn. We both broke down crying, it's the most symbolic and sweet thing I've ever experienced.
Here is a photo.

Oh, that's such a sweet gesture. I'm glad that you have people in your life who're able to support you in that fashion, and just... show something meaningful like that. It's nothing extravagant, but it's something... special.
This is covered by Rule 3 of the RB rules which you should have read, given that you'd made a RB thread yourself:

The Mod on the Silver Mountain: This is getting uncomfortably close to telling other posters what to do, as well as the one topic, one thread rule. How's about we move conversation to something different,

Pfft, there are like 4 Star Wars threads as-is.
If anybody knows LaZodiac on Discord, and would like to get to know me despite the fact I'm completely insufferable, she can provide you with it.
Also, 3 hours until Christmas. Glad I got my shopping done, last minute as some of it was.
