Leaf's arrow pierces through the cleric's armour, and it would have dropped and lesser man, but drawing on a well of strength the spellcaster remarkably remains standing. With the party grouped up, the wizard conjures a half-dozen balls of flame, two of which streak forwards and impact at the core of the party, searing them to greater or lesser degrees. The longsword wielder follows up - having seen Caelyn's healing magic work, and delivers two cutting sword slices against her.

Leaf's arrow hits and would have dropped the Orc Cleric to 0, were it not for his racial, which drops him to 1 instead.
The wizard casts Melf's Minute Meteors and tosses two at the group of six. Grepha's immune.
First meteor has everyone but Grok succeed, taking 2 fire damage, while Grok fails and takes 5 (before resistances).
Second has Senna, Caelyn, and Leaf fail (even with Grok's aura), taking 6 fire damage. Sam and Grok take 3.
The longsword fighter attacks Caelyn, and hits twice (narrowly) dealing 11 and 10 slashing damage.

Senna's hand starts crackling in a blue hue as she tries to touch the hostile warrior with arcane lightning, this time her expletives carrying her magic rather than fancy incantations.

Senna's electrical fist shocks the sword-wielder, but grim determination pushes him to keep fighting. From a distance, the halfling mutters a short spell, breathing life and consciousness back into his fallen roguish compatriot. The distraction set, the halfling's boomerang dagger flits out once more, catching Grepha on one side, while the halberdier attacks from the other, both dealing significant damage. His attack delivered, the halfling ducks out of sight, though from his footsteps he doesn't go far.

Senna heals Caelyn and hits for 17, Bloodying the human fighter. His Stubborn Survivor racial activates going forwards, ensuring +2 to all saves for the next minute. I'll definitely remember that.
Halfling Rogue casts Healing Word on the downed Elf Rogue for 6. He then tosses his magical boomerang Dagger at Grepha - now threatened by the conscious rogue - and sneak attack hits for 15.
The Halberd fighter follows up with an attack on Grepha as well, hitting once, for maximum damage (15)) also. It would do 1d4 fire damage, but she's immune to fire damage.

The flames strike Sam's scales, but roll right off like water over a duck. Grepha is less fortunate, a pair of magical blades hacking into her arachnid body until she is barely holding together.
Sam finds his heart beating rapidly as the foe's rogue starts to get back up. Letting her live would put everyone at risk, but the idea of putting her down for good feels unsettlingly right. She works for an evil organization. Does that make her deserving of death? Striking someone who happens to die is so different from an intentional coup de grace.
Ultimately, there is no time for careful deliberation. Sam strikes at her mind first to send her back to unconsciousness, then flicks his fingers to conjure a new swirling flame beneath her. Grepha, unfearing of the flames, dives in to finish the job with no such hesitation.

In a moment of foul rage, Grok pulls out his Wand of Magic Missiles, and proceeds to unload it into both the cleric, and the rogue, ensuring that neither would be an immediate threat for the near future. As the pulses of magical power dart out, he spits on the corpse of the rogue before shifting his hands to bring his glaive down on the halberdier, reminding him what was the superior long weapon.

Sam's dual spells knock the rogue back into unconsciousness, while Grok's wand kills the cleric before they can heal themself. Surrounded by flames, the rogue quickly succumbs to their injuries, Grepha's swing missing the prone, unconscious form of their enemy. Caelyn's spell is shrugged off by the longsword wielder, but Senna's electricity still lingers, freeing her up to retreat down the stairs out of danger once more.

Mind Thrust drops the rogue, who also fails their save vs. Create Bonfire 'cos they're unconscious.
Grok kills the cleric, and pings another death fail on the rogue.
Grepha misses.
Caelyn's spell is resisted, but Senna's Shocking Grasp lets her retreat freely, so she ducks off the map again.
The Elf Rogue does not dramatically roll a nat 20 on their death save, and instead fails it, killing them. With ER and OC dead, Leaf is up.

Leaf's arrow drops his target to the ground as they begin to bleed out. The wizard wastes no time in targeting the 'grouped up' party once more. Another pair of meteorites burst between them, followed up by a dagger of ice that bursts in the air. The cold blade proves too much for Grepha's form, and she vanishes, while the others mostly manage to shrug off the fire and frost.

Leif's arrow drops HFL to 0. He's now making death saves (and passes his first one).
EW unleashes another two meteor motes on Sam/Leaf/Grok. Three successful saves on the first (3 fire damage taken each), second has just Leaf succeed (5) fire while Grok+Sam failed (10 fire).
They then use their action to cast Ice Knife (2nd) on Grepha which hits for 9 piercing, which kills her. The detonation gets saved against for Grok/Leif/Sam though, so they only take 4 cold.

Senna surges forward, but her electrical grab is sidestepped. The rogue reappears from their corridor and tosses his blade again, but Senna barely stops it in time. Her back is open though, and the halberd wielder swings twice, cutting her with fiery slices. A quiet spell from the halfling rogue swaddles the polearm fighter, before they disappear again behind the corner.

Running up the stairs to get line of sight, Caelee seeks to end this fight and bulwark her allies against whatever comes next. Calling on her most powerful spell energy, she manifests a raging orb of fire, blasting it at the enemy caster and hoping that it incinerates him. Then four scalding hot water orbs bounce out, singing Grok, Senna, Leaf, and herself, but easing the pain of their wounds and healing them. Then she will slip back down the stairs to avoid return fire.

The spellcaster turns one of Grok's strikes away with a shield of magic, but the other - and Leaf's arrow - still strike, dealing significant damage to the elf. Panic more than skill has her drop from Caelyn's flames even as the waters heal the party. Sam's own mind-affecting spell is shrugged off by the halberd-wielder, though it still clearly did damage.
In response to the pain, the caster surrounds themselves in a fire that speeds their steps, and darts away, past Grok and Senna burning them only slightly. She ducks away into the eastern door, through which the halfling rogue was previously.

The wizard shields one attack, but the first one from Grok hits.
Leaf's arrow also hits. The rogue wasn't on the left side, they were on the right.
Caelyn's nat 1 sadly misses, but the heal still works.
The wizard casts Ashardalon's Stride and heads out the east door, dropping a firebolt at Senna (Miss) in the process. Passing by Senna and Grok deals a whopping 1 fire damage.
The longsword fighter critfails their death save (2/4).

First suffering devastating wounds only to be enveloped by Caelyn's elemental healing, Senna is hurled through a whirlwind of pain-related emotions. Slow down that allegro to a moderato! she shouts ripping the fiery enchantment from the mage's body.

As Senna turns away from the halberdier he lashes out at her back, cutting through her armour. She still manages to out to follow the wizard, and sees her down the end of the corridor to dispel her. In a flash, the magic fire at her heels and armour at her chest dissipate into the aether, but just as quickly Senna feels a second stab at her back from the halfling rogue.
With only two targets within his reach, the halberdier chooses to focus on the one that is slightly less armoured. Leif evades the first strike, but the second still cuts him for a fiery swipe.

Senna's movement provokes an OA, which hits for 11 slashing and 4 fire
She moves into the Wizard's line of sight - they were a little too far away from escaping entirely - and dispels Ashardalon's Stride and their Mage Armour.
The halfling rogue steady aims and hits Senna with his returning dagger for 16 piercing. Assuming Senna's health in the latest post is accurate that drops her to 0 exactly.
The halberdier targets Leaf instead of the heavily armoured Grok, and hits once, for 9 slashing and 4 fire.

Distracted by the suddenly bright light of the wizard's spell, Grok finds himself unable to prevent the wizard from passing, nor could he protect Senna as she fled from the human warrior, nor could he prevent the rogue from revealing itself once more.
But he could move and try to help Senna recover. Vengeance was near, but getting too caught up in it was what separated righteousness from darkness.
With that in mind, he abruptly moves away from the halberdier, moving to protect Senna, reaching town to touch her with his gauntleted dwarven hand, a slight glow discharging itself into Senna before he positions himself to protect Senna and lock down the Rogue.

Launching up into the room, Sam rushes to Senna's aid - only for Grok to beat him there. Dashing past them and swinging around the door frame, he pursues the fleeing wizard. Running after the fleeing and frightened foe brings up a bubbling feeling of predatory thrill, and he can't tell if it's the dragon or the Bhaalspawn talking.

Caelyn moves up the stairs, sends a cantrip of fire flying at the fighter, hoping to drop him in a burst of flame. The flames caused an aura of heat to surround her.

Sam's acrobatic tumbling takes him into the corridor with the wizard and rogue. One blast downs the elf, while the other knocks the halfling back, though they still soften the blow with acrobatic twisting. Back in the central room, Caelyn's fireblast gets parried by steel, though it opens his back to Leaf's arrow, dropping him to the ground. Only one foe remain standing, and it doesn't seem like your foes are stirring of their own accord...yet.
Senna, on the other hand, is returned to consciousness by Grok's healing hands.

Sam kills the wizard and shifts another blast to the rogue, which gets Uncanny Dodged for half damage.
Grok heals Senna.
Caelyn misses the halberdier, but Leaf finishes them off.

Senna stumbles forward but she does not notice her hitting the floor. Everything goes dark. A few moments later she feels a touch of iron, though warm then hot like a forge blasting at full heat. Caelee? she asks before she sees the dwarf passing by her to defend against the vile Throne assassin. She pushes her body up looking around.
Thanks Grok. HOLD THE SMALLFOLK! We may want information! she says, her middle words echoing with magic.

Senna's spell grabs hold of the rogue and locks them in place only long enough for them to lose the swipe they were aiming at Grok before the paralysis ends.

Senna's hold person lands, though it then breaks at the end of the Halfling's turn (14+2=16), freeing them before they can get smacked.
The halberdier succeeds on a death save, but not critically.

While Caelyn and Sam stabilise two of the fallen, Grok and Senna cut down the halfling, only to stabilise him in turn moments later. You are left with three barely breathing bodies, and three not-breathing bodies, along with the rest of the floor to explore.

You're left with three corpses and three unconscious characters. They'll wake on their own in 1d4 hours unless you do something to them (such as heal them).

With the immediate threat resolved, Grok sets himself to the basics of prisoner control, searching the prisoners, removing any weapons or other items that may pose a threat, and applying rope to bind their arms and legs, to make any escape more challenging. With their capture ensured, he looks up. "These seemed more serious guards. Search this floor, spend a few moments binding our wounds, and continue onwards. They'll answer to the fists, or to us if the evidence isn't above us." His low voice seems a bit grumpy after the multitude of injuries he had suffered, but he doesn't let that slow him down.

Who in their RIGHT MIND employs guards with damn whips? Senna curses, even though the proper guard weapons hurt her more definitely. If you dont mind, Caelee, searching for documents is more up my alley than healing at this very moment. She takes a moment to find her calm again.
