Sabian shouts in alarm as Iorghu attacks. He manages to fend off the claws with his shield, but the monk savagely bites down on the warrior's neck, taking a chunk of flesh. The pain and surprise prevent Sabian from fending off the next flurry of claws and he is raked across the face. Bloodied and furious, the Skellegue rage boils forth and Sabian stops Iorghu's advance and presses the attack, stabbing out with his spear, Your sin was hubris that you could live with this curse!

Sabian holds his position against Iorghu, straining under the creatures weight and strength. He says to Titus through gritted teeth, Thanks for the vote of confidence... He defends against another flurry of kicks before stabbing out with his spear. He smashes Iorghu to the ground with the Shield of the Unyielding, hoping to limit the werewolf's mobility. Titus looked on in horror what he had just done. "I didn't mean too..."
But the pulsing pain in his neck reminded him that he had to act to prevent himself from joining the monk in his descent into madness. With a gesture, calming healing light suffused his body, erasing the mark the beast had left on him

"It would have been us if it wasn't him." Chloé says grimly. "Try...try to think of it as releasing him from the curse?" It was a slim comfort, and one she didn't truly have the heart to believe in herself. The monk was - she presumed - a good person before Dracula. He didn't deserve this. None of them did.

Ridding herself of the thoughts required she busy her mind with cleansing the blood as much as possible, using a scentless solvent she'd devised. It wasn't so effective (or pleasant) on skin but proved more than capable for almost all inorganic objects.

Mustafa helps out with a Mending spell, fixing up any signs of battle in Sabian and Titus's clothes. "Might be that we can slip under their noses without them ever learning what happened." He doubled checks if anyone has claw marks on their armors, or anything else that would make it obvious that they fought a werewolf just now. "But I don't think it's safe to stay at Laruba anymore. Let's leave the monastery now, while the brothers sleep."

"Or... We could pretend it never happened, barricade ourselves in a room to sleep, then leave at first light. But if they find this corpse, they're likely to set up a trap for us, or straight up attack us during the night. What shall we do?"

Chloe is right. Iorghu almost turned you into a werewolf Titus. We can grieve them when we're gone from this place, but until then... they are monsters, and we are monster killers. As Chloe is cleaning the area, Sabian grabs Iorghu's corpse and begins to drag it toward the other corpses, Let's move him under the others so that their odor masks the fresh kill.

We are low on resources, but need to find Dracula's skull before we leave here. Maybe the other monks are still secluded knowing that Iorghu is leading us through the place? Now may be the time to act.

Mustafa nodded, convincing himself that those monks never gave them another option... Right? "Titus, you say we must sleep before we act. Sabian, you say we should act before we sleep." He scratched his thin beard, thoughtful. "Hear me on this: Come the morning, the monks ought to realize something happened, because brother Iorghu will be gone and we will have retreated to a defensible position to rest. We'll have to fight our way out."

[COLOR="#4B0082"]"We can either find a defensible position and get ready for a bloody battle on the morrow, or take them by surprise and go looking for the skull now. We can't hope to take them by surprise tomorrow... If we go to bed, they'll find Iorghu and there will be violence. My opinion is that we act now - without silver weapons, I doubt we'll survive an open battle. Not without being bitten."[COLOR]

He raised his mithral scepter. "Aye, I can fight alright, but at this point I cannot protect us nor heal our wounds with magic, not until we rest properly and I can pray to my god again."

Titus frowned: "Do we have any idea at all where the skull could be? I'd assume it to be in some kind of ossuary or crypt. Basically at the opposite side of this building."

He pointed down with his thumb.

"I need at least an hour to get a bit of power back. Meanwhile Cloe could take a look at the silver blade - I'd assume it's magical, so it would be a real help against the building full of werewolves. Though we should make sure to dismember patient 0 before we take it - don't want him to come back now. Better burn him too."

Not sure, we may have to go room to room. Let's rest here but I don't think we should burn the corpses. The smell may lure the others to come investigate.

"Agreed, and more: Even if they don't realize Brother Iorghu is dead, why would we need a silver blade in a monastery full of weremonks? We already have powerful weapons, the Vampire Killer itself. They will assume, correctly so, that we plan use it on them."

"And if they do realize Brother Iorghu is gone, I'm afraid they will immediately blame us. And if they have divinatory magic..."
Mustafa shuddered. "Well, no need to dwell on more ifs and maybes."

After thinking about the matter, Cassandra decides that mind-altering spells would probably help calm the wolves, as would sufficiently well-phrased encouragement (Persuasion DC 16).

Meanwhile, Titus looked closely at the silver sword. He called Cloé over: "Can you tell me, if the sword is magical as well as made of silver? It might be worth it for me to bind - a magical silver blade could be of great help against Dracula's minions. Though I'd like to avoid binding a cursed weapon."

To Mustafa he said: "Where else if not a place full of werewolf would you want a silver blade? I can store it in heaven while I'm not needing it and call it with a thought to my side."

"Pray, the blade is invaluable... But I fear them wolves will turn hostile as soon as they see us wielding silver. It's the only thing that can harm them, and suddenly we're waving it around the halls of their monastery? It will come to violence - which is inevitable, I agree, but timing is crucial. We need to optimize this small window of time that we have to wander freely around the monastery without them knowing we killed Brother Iorghu. Carrying a silver blade would spoil that advantage."

"Assuming we take the silver blade now and conceal it, could we place an illusion here, making it look like we never touched it? This way we can still explore the monastery and search for the scroll discreetly. Who knows, with the power of that rings, they might even agree to lead us there."

I agree with you both, Sabian says, Let's take the sword, but Titus keep it out of sight until we need it. Sound good?

We need to get moving, I don't like sitting here with those things moving about down there. Titus, we will need you to do the talking. With your natural skill, and the power of the ring, hopefully we can get the skull and leave. Does anyone have mind altering magic like Cass mentioned? Otherwise it's just Titus' silver tongue.

Titus nodded and called his weapon. With five strokes, he dismembered the werewolf body, cutting of the head last and scattering the parts.

Only then did he pull the silver sword out of the torso.
