That doesn't necessarily mean those two things are the same. It's not as if he hears that units pop in cities and then suddenly says "Spoitable mechanic!" He has to have that dream first. There's lots he's learned in the previous day about the mechanics of Erfworld, just because the last thing we see him talking about is the units popping doesn't mean that's the exploitable mechanic.

I do see more than one mechanic being exploited here. Production mechanic, targeting mechanic, and fog of war. There may be more. I'm not sure which one he was referring to when he woke up.

He's only exploiting targeting. That's the only area where he's playing unethically, The rest is just abusing a weakness. He's abusing the fact that Ansom can create more units nor see what he's doing ineffeciently. He's exploiting a game mechanic and abusing 2-3 mechanics to make it work. Ansom could try the same strat but he doesn't have the uniits and tech to abuse like Parson does.
